I started coming to this dental office when I was about 12 years old, so this is almost 10 years ago. Although I cannot thoroughly remember my experiences here that far back, I will write about my experience here as an adult from age 18 to now. This dental office is located on a main street in Chula Vista. It is also a few minutes away from the 5 freeway. They speak spanish here MOSTLY, but also speak english. If you do not know spanish or are not fluent, this may bother you.(It is very uncomfortable) The employees here are what I call, not nice. The 2 women in the front are very rude and their«niceness» is very transparent if you’ll ask me. The dentist is also very rude. All three of them combined are the reason why I have not gone back to them(and never will) and would not recommend them. They all make you feel very uncomfortable here. Multiple times I was left in the operatory room without being told anything, it took me a while to figure out that my appointment must have been over. When walking out, they were all speaking spanish and no one seemed to want to help me. When I asked if there were any follow up appointments I may have needed to schedule or any information I needed, they looked at me as if I should’ve known the answer to my question. Well of course I don’t know, no one told me anything when they just left me in the operatory room without a word, a thank you, or a goodbye. Unfortunately, this experience happened 90% of the time I was here. Nearly every visit, I was not only reminded of but put down about my teeth being crooked. This dentist made it a point to put me down about my teeth and constantly bug me about braces. When I told her that I was interested in a specific type of braces, I was told that I «need traditional metal braces». I believe that if the dentist herself felt I needed traditional braces over innovation braces, she should have explained to me her reason as to why instead of telling me «No, you NEED — «. A simple«I would recommend these because – » would have sufficed. Also, I am quite aware of the crookedness of my teeth, I see my teeth every day. Maybe I am happy with them like that? Or perhaps I am waiting for the moment I am financially stable enough to get the dental work and braces I actually want? Ever think of that? It is not necessary for you to bug me about it every single time I come in. Im aware of the issue, enough said. One of the last visits here, a few years ago, they performed 2 root canals on me. Well, both went wrong because I ended up with infections on BOTH. Believe me, I followed my post-op instructions perfectly. I didn’t go back because they were hounding me about paying for crowns out of pocket since my insurance didn’t cover crowns for my case at the time. Mind you, I had just finished telling the front office ladies that I only worked part-time, rented a studio, and was going to college. They came up to me with a paper is an absurd amount for me to pay for crowns and asked if I wanted to pay with a card. Instead of explaining the costs and letting me know my options? Okay… Needless to say, I didn’t get them. Fast forward: They called me about a year and a half ago and told me that MediCal finally approved my crowns. Awesome, right? They scheduled me an appointment to come in a day or 2 if I remember correctly, before my 21st birthday. Well for those of you who don’t know, MediCal(including their dental benefits) automatically expires for young adults when they turn 21, then you must re-apply and that can take forever and it is not always guaranteed. Anyways, so they call me the day of my appointment and CANCEL it. I have a feeling it is because they were aware of my 21st birthday being the next day or 2, and felt that if I scheduled the crown appointment after then I’d have to pay them out of pocket. Maybe i’m crazy, but I can’t look past that one. After everything, I just wouldn’t recommend this place.
