I usually get the rolled tacos with rice and beans. Its very good and their customer service is cool too. It helps they are super close to my quarters.

It was alright, it was super greasy but does not mean it was super delicious. It was not that cheap to begin with, but it filled me up. It’s not the worst but definitely not great either.

I had the carne asada fries for lunch. Frozen french fries, not fresh cut but they were fine. Far from amazing but still pretty good. I think they were around $ 6? I didn’t get a receipt with my credit card so I’m not sure. I’ll be back to try their other food.

When it comes to Mexican food, I haven’t found everything in one stop. But Kotija’s beans, when done right, are the best in the San Diego area. Combine their beans with their shrimp burrito or shredded chicken burrito, and their salsas, and those are among my favorite burritos in San Diego. So why not 5 stars? They have about a 66% hit rate on my orders. I always ask for beans in my burritos. Specifically, I have my wife, who is a native Spanish speaker, ask for«extra, extra beans.» However, I frequently get home(I almost always order pick-up) to find no beans, or very little beans, in my burritos. Total first-world problem, but still a bummer. Also, lately their beans sometimes aren’t as good. I think what you get depends on who they have working in the kitchen at any particular time. Overall, if you live anywhere in the San Diego area, drive down here at least once to try out a burrito with beans and shrimp or shredded chicken in it. Sit there and eat it to make sure you get the beans. Why shrimp/shredded chicken? I don’t know, other than they are way better than the pollo asado or carne aside(although the carne asada quesadillas are pretty darn good).

Sucks here their burritos are tiny ! for 6 bucks not worth it at all. Horchata is filled with all ice –_– The guacamole mexicano SUCKS because it’s pretty much filled with tomato not much avocado. Hermano’s taco shop on Palomar is way better: D

Came here on lunch break and ordered my usual carne asada burrito. Typical kotija, burritos are usually tiny so I always order extra carne asada. My total was 9 dollars for carne asada extra meat and I what I received was no bigger than a standart tiny kotija burrito. When I asked the cashier if it was extra meat the cook popped his head out with an angry face and she assured me it was. Atleast it wasn’t grizzlie but what a rip off. Avoid like the plague.

Top of my list as one of the worst taco shops for a Carne asada burrito or cali burrito you name it. They basically stole my money because the burrito was full of nothing but junk gristle meat that made me gag every bite I would take. I eventually said screw this and threw the whole thing away. Big waste of money. They have cheap prices but you get what you pay for. I don’t know how people are happy with the wacky carne they serve here because it’s all left over bits being sold cheap.

We were in town from nearby Riverside & we were looking for a good taco restaurant. After reading a bad review about Lucha Libre, we decided on this place. No regrets! Their carne asada tacos were awesome! This is the typical hole in the wall, off the beaten’ path restaurant you hear about. If you’re not from around here(like us) but are wiling to try something good, take a detour and try this place, you won’t regret it!

I been coming to this taco shop for a few years. I really love the breakfast burritos. They have very fair prices and good customer service in my experience. This is one of those places that remember what u want when your a regular. Makes me feel like a valued customer even when I’m spending a mere 3.50

My test on a taco shop is, if their Bean and Cheese burritos are good. If they pass the test on a simple burrito then you got my service. The place is overall great, prices are pretty good as well. I always come for the breakfast burritos though. One thing they can improve on is the carne asada fries, which so far to this date only 2 taco shops I know have perfected it. Would recommend it to everyone

One word. LAAAME! Came here with a big appetite after spongin at IB and ordered a pollo asado burrito to fit my macros. When my burrito came I was shocked on how small it was. I’ve had 3 rolled tacos stuck together that were bigger! And on top of that they got my order wrong. They unapologetically corrected my order with the same minuscule sized burrito with pollo asado. Settle for the food court at Sea Food City instead of this super overpriced place. Thank the above-average rojo salsa for even a star. Straight LAME!

The food is okay. I’ve had the carne asada, pollo asado, and a few others. Carne Asada Fries aren’t very good. Fries are too mushy and bland. Everything seems so overpriced. I’m fine with paying more if it taste better, but it’s all very mediocre overall.

It was just okay. Carne asada was kind of meh. With so many choices in San Diego I would not try this place again. This place has no air conditioning so it was super hot when I came here. Plus there were flies buzzing around. Don’t think I’ll be back.

There are only so many Pollo Asado Burritos a girl can eat in a lifetime. California Burritos were delicious back in the 90s, the novelty of the Chicharron burrito was short lived and having eaten more than enough pollo adobado at Saritas, my tummy was longing for a new burrito experience… This year I am excited to finally try the Michoacano burrito at Kotija. Located in the same shopping center as the new Seafood City on Orange Ave, I’ve had friends [ okay, technically my sister and her boyfriend ;) ] ask over and over again, «Have you tried the Michoacano burrito?» The combination of carne asada, beans, cheese and green chili sauce of delicious awesome all wrapped inside a beautiful tortilla with a roasted jalepeño on the side is addicting. To top it all off, service was very kind and accommodating. Case in point: They were willing to make me a Michoacano burrito with pollo asado instead of carne asada. Ooooh weeee. One side note regarding the hot sauce. I normally love to make sure I add extra hot sauce to every bite when devouring burritos, but for the first time in my life, it turns out that the Michoacano does not need anything extra [although they do make a delicious roasted red hot sauce]. I also learned the painful way that I cannot finish a whole jalepeño. Thank you sister and her boyfriend for the recommendation. I should have listened to you sooner ;)

The place has the best Mexican food. The michoacano burrito is amazing. I also love their breakfast burritos, tamales, and rolled tacos. Their green and red salsa is very good. I wish I knew how to make it. Eat here now.

My dad told me about how good their tacos are and he’s kind of a picky eater, so he had to be right, right? YES! Their tacos were so crispy and not crazy greasy. They also make awesome light & fluffy rice. Beans were tasty too. I’ve only had a few items so far but I’ll be back for more!
