J & CP Mobile Mechanic

I just purchased a used vehicle and wanted a mechanic to check it out first. I found Jose on Unilocal and decided to give him a call. Very happy I did. For only $ 45 Jose came out and inspected the vehicle. Not only was Jose and his staff professional, but he able to make it out on a short notice. He knows his stuff, works hard, he is honest, and he is fair. That deserves 5 stars. Give Jose a call and be sure to leave a tip if you like the service and work.

Since it is so hard to find an affordable mobile mechanic, I thought this was going to work out great. Our first experience was awesome. My car didn’t start so I called Jose up as we were referred. He did a quick diagnostic and said we needed a new battery and that was it. We replaced the battery but the next day it was dead again and stuck in a parking lot. Jose came to the rescue fairly quick and said I had a loose wire but I was good to go and back on the road. Next day, dead again! In my novice option, I looked at the terminal and it was completely corroded that the bot was not staying in place. I asked if he could replace it and he said that he didn’t think it needed it but said he would do the job and would just need to order the parts. That was 3 months ago! NEVER heard back from him. We replaced the bolt on our own and that did the trick. Just wish there would have been more reliability and communication.

The hardest service to find in San Diego is a mobile mechanic, so imagine our surprise when we came across the wonderful reviews of J & CP Mobile Mechanic when one of our power windows was stuck at 3am on a Sunday morning. It wasn’t THAT pressing to get it fixed, but we knew none of our 8 or so regular mechanics would be open until Monday.
So, we called Jose and he came out in the afternoon, despite this being the first time we’ve used him and the fact that he had a day packed full of appointments. Jose is SO good that he got a temporary fix working for us in about two minutes. We’re going to have him back out to do the permanent fix when we get the window regulator and motor delivered in a day or two.
Jose is helpful, friendly, and experienced … we can’t ask for anything better and we are so thrilled to have found him. We have seven vehicles to keep running, so he will be invaluable to us!
One favor to ask fellow Unilocalers … PLEASE tip him a little bit. He is extremely fair in his pricing and deserves a little extra for his effort!

My boss had 4 cars that had been garaged for about a year, all dead batteries and each car had its own issues. I informed Jose that I would be in charge of all the repairs to my bosses vehicles since he was out of town. Jose and his daughter came the next morning, looked at the four vehicles and let me know what was wrong with each of them and what the repair cost would be for each vehicle. He ranked in order what was the most important to the least and the cheapest vehicle to replace to the most expensive. He charged us $ 80 dollars total to look at the 4 vehicles ($ 20 each). I have taken two cars to a shop before and was charged DOUBLE that amount. We scheduled the repairs to be done in two separate trips. They picked up the parts and gave the receipts for all of the parts they purchased. Jose and his daughter were friendly and worked diligently.
One of the vehicles wouldn’t start. (I am not great with technical car terms so I do not remember some of the reasons Jose gave me). Basically, there were 2 – 3 main reasons why the vehicle wouldn’t start. Jose told me he would work on the vehicle and purchase the parts needed. If it didn’t work he would return the parts and not charge me until the vehicle was fixed. Luckily, what Jose thought the original problem was– turned out to be the actual problem and it was fixed that day!
I feel that if this was another situation where I took my bosses vehicles into a shop, they would have tried to up-​sell me and taken advantage of the fact I am not familiar with cars and that my boss (who wasn’t present) was paying. This wasn’t the case with Jose. He is honest and his pries are more than fair.
My boss met Jose on the second visit and liked him as much as I did. This morning one of his vehicles did not start and Jose was the first person my boss and myself thought to call! We will continue to use Jose and highly recommend him!!!

My car has its temperamental moments. It had one of those moments yesterday, when its battery died so completely that a regular jump did nothing. We called these guys, they came out first thing the next morning, and not only got the car running to take in for service, but also did a full check to make sure electronics weren’t a draw on the battery and nothing else was wrong. The grand total? $ 20. On top of all that, they were extremely nice and friendly. We will be hanging onto their card for the next time my car has a diva moment! Definitely recommend giving them a call.

Best mobile mechanic service all around San Diego, great customer service, and quality work. You can’t beat there prices.

This man is honest, hard working, and very reasonably priced. He is also prompt and friendly. I have used him multiple times for auto work, and would absolutely do it again.

My father’s truck ran over chicken wire on the freeway and tore the gas lines. Called Jose who came out on a timely manner. Worked on the truck efficiently, him and his daughter have great customer service. Would highly recommend to everyone.

An honest mechanic! I had a dead battery and car wouldn’t start. If I’d taken it to any number of other mechanics I would have been told it needed a new alternator or starter, $ 400-​$ 1600. I paid $ 20 for him having come out! I will be calling him again if I have any problems in the future, hopefully not too soon though

Seriously the best. I called them with a brake leak my husband was having on his car. They came out and fixed the problem without incident. Fair prices and excellent customer service.

Hand’s down the best mechanic I have ever met! My car didn’t start this morning it was making a cracking sound when I tried to start the ignition, me not knowing much about cars I decided to just Unilocal a mobile mechanic and BUALA! I found J& CP Mobile Mechanic. Jose the mechanic introduce him self and within 5 min he diagnosed my car. I just found my personal mechanic! Great service, very honest, I highly recommend!

Thanks to Skelley’s Garage not doing anything to my van, I decided that it was time to find a new mechanic. My van started making a lot of noise, so I looked on Unilocal to see if I could find someone to come look at it at home.
So I decided to try out J & CP Mobile Mechanics based on their Unilocal ratings. I was pleasantly surprised. I called on Monday morning and spoke to Jose. I told him what the problem was, and he was there within an hour. He was polite, professional, and diagnosed my van as having a leaky power steering hose. He told me how much it would cost to repair it, and I gave him the go ahead. He ordered the hose, came back today, and took care of the problem.
The cost? $ 114.94. I’m now a fan. My van is now running smoothly now, and I’ll be calling Jose to have it winterized, and to check to see if it needs anything else. My van will be primarily seen by Jose, unless it’s something that he can’t do.
I highly recommend him for any work that your vehicle needs.

This man knows his stuff! Not only did they fix my issue in less than 40 min but he explains everything to you. Cost for service is amazing compared to others. A very humble man that just earned my business for life!

Great people to work with. Price and work was great. Why would anyone take there auto to the shop when they can do it at the house. Showed up on time, work was done in a timely fashion. All the other shops will be call second on the list.

My mother-in-law’s vehicle ends up with a bad radiator hose with a break near the water pump. With this particular car, it is no easy task. This is a job that requires removal of a number of components off of the engine (i.e. serpentine belt, alternator, power steering pump, etc…) in order to even reach the water pump or even just to get to the hose.
After doing some searches for mobile mechanics, I decided to give Jose a try, based upon the number of very positive « Unilocal» reviews. I called very early on Sunday morning expecting to leave a voice mail… and Jose answered and said that he’d come over to inspect the vehicle. He was timely with his appointment and inspected the vehicle and advised me of what needed to be done.
It is immediately evident that Jose is an extremely knowledgeable and experienced mechanic who most importantly is honest. Based upon his recommendations, I also had him replace the water pump which was in deplorable condition. He worked swiftly and tested and retested to ensure that everything was in proper working condition.
His pricing was exceptionally fair, especially considering what the job entailed and that he came to do the repair at my premises. I have put Jose in my contacts for any emergency type auto repairs… he has earned my complete trust and future business. I am recommending his services to all my friends and family. Thank you, Jose!

This guy is the truth! Hands down, one of the best auto-​mechanics I have met to date. He is fast, efficient, and provides quality service for a great price. OH, and not only that… but he comes to you! Why bother with the waits and hassle of auto repair shops when you can have one of the best auto-​mechanics right at your front door or in your garage? Look no more my friends, if your car is down right now… give him a call like NOW! I promise you won’t regret it :)

I can definitely say that the $ 20 fee to come look at my car made me a little suspicious of the service I might get because of the old «you get what you pay», but this was not the case. It appears as though it is a 2 person, father and daughter operation. The daughter answers the phone and books appointments and she is very pleasant and professional. They do make every effort to get to you asap and end up under promising and over delivering. Jose, the mechanic, is also very polite and professional and she showed in uniform in a nice prius with his business and license info on a graphic wrap. Definitely not the presentation I expected for that price. I had a check engine light and he made some adjustments which took care of the issue. 2 days later the check engine light came back and I called and he came back out the same day and took care of it again but did not charge me again. Overall, great experience, good people and great price!

Sunday morning, and no luck finding a mechanic store open. But when I Unilocaled and called Sr. Jose Luis, he was quick to get to my home. Inspected my car, diagnosed it and referred me to a really good mechanic store to fix my car’s complicated problem. Best part is he only charge me $ 20!

Jose was great! My sister needed a battery on-​site, he was quick, very laid back and even test drove it for her when she had to leave. Easy to give this guy our cash! Well deserved. She said «he was such a sweetheart»

Amazing; fast service, frindley people, great great prices. Update; 1÷21÷2012 I have now used them twice and would recomend them to anyone. Don’t go to a shop or a dealership first when you can get an opinion for 20 $.
