If you’re ready to brave the bruises(And frankly you’ll be proud of them!), then head just outside of town to the courses in Choctaw. Family-run and staffed with their friends/family, this place has a homey vibe. I hadn’t paintballed in 5 years, and some of the group I was with hadn’t ever. The staff did a great job with explaining what to do/safety mixed with an attitude of «Just get out there and do it!». The guns and masks weren’t fancy, but got the job done. If you want to invest in your own mask or think you might go more than once, I’d suggest that, especially if you’re freaked out by germs. They wash/sanitize them regularly, but you WILL sweat. Like crazy. There are several courses to choose from. We started with the far-north one, which is one of the easiest. It was an excellent warm-up. Everyone was incredibly friendly and several people wanted to get a game started up. My group was shy about that at first, because some of the people looked rather intimidated with their own guns and paintball gear. However, it was very fun! We moved to the woods courses for this, which was very fun, especially with 15 people as opposed to 8. The proprietor checked in with us several times throughout the day to make sure we were having fun, and the«guide» will stay with you all day if you’re new. He was funny and nice(A dry sense of humor, so don’t mistake that for being rude!). He was also incredibly attentive and made sure everyone was safe, reminding everyone to cap guns and leave masks on. At one point my gun jammed during a game and he fixed it mid-game so I could continue play. All in all a great experience and wonderful way to spend an afternoon with friends!
