Love the deli breakfast sandwiches, but not Keskan.
My favorite Safeway location in town; helpful, clean, friendly, and usually over the top customer service with one noted exception in the Deli. This guy is always looking for a way out of helping you and consistently creates disaster looking sandwiches. I watched another customer walk away because of this today. I understand it is very busy usually but the customer is standing there saying exactly what goes on the sandwich next. Ive been left One too many times feeling the same way.

This store has really gone downhill since Safeway was sold. Specifically the quality of meats, fruits, and vegetables. They are selling Fillets for $ 19.99 a lb that are rotten. Half the meat is gray on any given day lately. I bought a beef kabob. When I went to cook it, the meat was rancid and there
was mold on the vegetables. If it isn’t rotting, it is a fat cut. They should trim their steaks much better. The fruits are either over ripened or hard as a rock. ½ the time I can’t buy blueberries because they are mush. The nectarines and plums were so under ripened that it would take 2 weeks to eat them! I hope they can get it together. I go about 3 times a week but if I have one more bad experience, I will be shopping a t Raley’s.

We ordered the horse cake and it was awful looking. They had to put extra clouds across the top to cover the word «none.» They actually wrote the word «none» on the cake, because we told them we didn’t want any writing and the lady literally wrote none on the cake. Thanks Safeway for the most awful looking cake my daughter has ever had on her birthday.

Their bakery is the worst. We keep trying here and then returning terrible items. A few months ago it was soggy muffins and tonight it was a rancid chocolate pudding cake that had coagulated unpleasantly. Dont buy ANYTHING from the bakery!

This was a typical Safeway. It was to see this Safeway in town as I’m very brand new to Chico temporarily for my internship. The store was clean and the workers were nice. I gotta say they were exactly what I expected out of a Safeway. I went in to buy filtered water and a bag of lettuce to make a salad. At least I know where to get groceries next time.

The prices for organic products are cheap and I really enjoy their sandwich station. The only reason that I don’t give it 5 stars is because of all the plastic containers used to store their food.

This is way better then the Safeway on Nord. Cleaner, more variety, Starbucks. However, twice now the baggers have forgotten to give me all of my grocery bags and i had to drive all the way back to get them. Tip: double check you have all your groceries.

You pay a little more but the quality of produce and meats are a bit higher than else where. Always good service.

The deli staff are very friendly and efficient.
The self-​check out folks, though, are brutal. They always stand around looking miserable and are pretty rude, with the exception of the short Asian lady and the older man with the glasses.
I agree with Aileen that Mr. Ex-​Marine-​Now-​Safeway-​Employee needs to lighten up a bit, this isn’t the military, its a neighborhood grocery store!

These sandwiches are amazing and relatively affordable compared to any other sandwich place in Chico. They have some great unique additions, and great bread. The only issue I have is that the employees are not very friendly. They make you feel really uncomfortable when you add extras to your sandwich and they barely talk to you, let alone make eye contact.
The sandwiches = 5 stars

Great place to buy groceries. Nice staff.

Inside at Starbucks the baristas are very friendly, greet me by name while starting to make my drink without me having to order. LOVE IT! They make my Chai Latte exactly the way I like it!

This store is probably the closest from Chico downtown what makes it very convenient!
Well, besides that. safeway is safeway. Nothing special to say about it.

I love this Safeway!!! I purposely go here over the other one. It is big and all of the people are sooo nice!

I am loving Safeway! Most people may not realize that they can stack Safeway’s digital coupons with manufacture coupons to really save a lot of money. By doing this I have saved tons of money and can shop for cheaper here than I can at Walmart, Winco or anywhere else for groceries. And its nice to have someone else pack my groceries and bring them out to the car for me! Such a plus — and cheaper too! The club card is the way to go!
I in particular like the Safeway on Mangrove, for some reason I seem to find the people working there are a little more friendly, a little nicer, and a little more helpful. Maybe it has to do with a good manager or something, but I go out of my way to hit the one on Mangrove.

It is Safeway. A little on the spendy side, but the club card program is nice. I like the idea of buying 6 sandwiches and the 7^th is free. I think that need to make it that when you spend $ 150, you get a .10 cent gas discount.
