Today was my first visit to Wired Coffee House and honestly, I wish I would have known about this amazing place sooner! The staff is extremely welcoming and helpful. One of the employees helped me and my friend pick out a beverage to try. She gave us a sample of the Iced Bourbon Coffee, and I immediately fell in love! It was unique tasting from any coffee I have tried before. I put a little coconut milk in there to give it a kick, and it was awesome! I also tried the PB + J sandwich which included a bag of chips. I am INLOVE with the taste of this sandwich. The kind employee suggested bananas inside the sandwich, which made it taste even more amazing. The environment in Wired Coffee was calm and perfect temperature for a hot summer day. The music selection was oldies at a perfect volume level for customers to talk and work on things. Since I live right down the street, I am looking forward to my future visits at this wonderful place of establishment.

The wired French toast may not look like much but OMFG it’s amazing. May be the best French toast I’ve ever had, it’s a croissant French toastified with caramel sauce, whip cream and banana. If you love yourself you should just come here and order this. I’ve never really felt the need to leave reviews but like wow this is some damn good French toast. Atmosphere is v chill and quiet, some oldies hits make a cozy place to study or read or anything in solace. This was in the opposite direction of my commute but I will be back! Also their coffee lives up to its name. Very caffeinated use caution! For vegans/lactose intolerant friends they have almond, soy and coconut milk. For a great breakfast/brunch spot for just over $ 10 hit this place up!

Three stars only for the nice service. The coffee is below Chicago standards. I’m talking about regular drip coffee. I tried twice and they failed. Good place to hang around. Bad place for coffee.

Serviceable but unremarkable shop. Nothing particularly exciting about the décor or coffee but the service was super friendly and made us feel at home. Homemade marshmallow in special latte was a nice treat. I was also pretty hungover, FYI. Might b back if walking by and under caffeinated.

This place was really great. Away from the craziness of Chicago, you walk down into this tranquil restful place that plays beatles music, and relaxes you faster than a great massage. The owner is super awesome, and generous! I always go here for my morning pastries, and lately I have to leave earlier so I took a bunch to go, I won’t go anywhere else in the city. They have a great marshmallow latte and honestly it’s a chill place to work for the day, or just forget that you live in Chicago for a while. Chicago is a great city, but any local knows sometimes it can be a little much! This is a great place to go to help unwind.

Tiny little café across the street from Jewel Osco. It might be easy to miss because its kind of below ground level on the street. However, it is the best café in town if you want a nice quiet place to study with a cup of coffee. Unlike other cafes, this place is very welcoming to those who are looking for a place to spend time doing work on your laptop with lots of small tables, power plugs, and even a printer if you need to print something out!

Super nice family running this place, and though it’s a bit smallish and can easily get packed, it’s a great place to hang out. Coffee is fresh and great quality. The food is a bit pricey and spartan but good. I like hanging out here and while I hope the word doesn’t get out and causes it to get too crowded, I also want them to stay in business. So come on down.

Wow! Talk about amazing customer service, this place takes the cake in the categories of friendly and awesome! I was talking with the woman behind the homemade marshmallows and mentioned I hadn’t had smores since going gluten free three years ago. She walked out a few minutes later with a homemade smores on gluten free graham crackers! See the pic! And if you haven’t tried them, pick up a bag of these homemade marshmallows! Yummy!

Came here to experience the International Coffee option, but was told that today was actually the first day they stopped offering that. Sure, I was a little saddened but that didn’t stop me from enjoying my time there. The place is really cozy and the people there are very kind and friendly. I ordered the London Fog Latte with the Turkey and Avocado Panini. My boyfriend ordered the Breakfast Burrito and Turkish Coffee. My London Fog was topped off with a very luxurious layer of foam and what was underneath was a delicious and heartwarming Earl Grey Tea and latte mixture. The woman behind the counter recommended to mix in some honey to sweeten the drink, which was a fantastic gesture! The Turkish Coffee was also robust and delicious. Both of our food items were great as well and super filling. Overall, great experience! We will definitely be back!

Utterly charmed by this place. The owners are so friendly, and it’s a real family business. When I ordered my iced tea, the owner saw me going for the sugar, called me back to the counter and made some simple syrup for me so all the sugar didn’t sink to the bottom while we chatted. It’s cute and cozy, there are lots of outlets around(this is mandatory in a coffee shop these days). There’s nice art in the walls, books and board games, and a pay it forward wall where you can buy coffee for a future customer, which is so adorable. The menu us pretty big and diverse, with a bunch of sandwiches and coffee drinks that I want to try next time I’m in the neighborhood. Prices are super reasonable, too.

I had the best chocolate cupcake I’ve ever had! Really moist and perfectly sweet. I’ll definitely be back. The environment in here is really nice. Only a few complaints. I kinda feel like they could clean up a little more as far as sweeping. This is my third time there and I’ve felt he same way every time. You can tell the owners really care about their customers and their shop. Beware though, the female owner had sort of weird communication sometimes ha. Seems kinda rude in the way she says things but I think she means well she is very attentive. For example a customer will ask a question a bout something they have ordered and she will answer it in kind of a snarky way, walk away to fix the issue, but doesn’t communicate that to the customer so the customer looks confused until she comes back. Ha kinda funny to watch. All in all great service, nice atmosphere with good throw back music. DELICIOUSSWEETS!

I met up with a friend here and we both got the Turkish coffee with Turkish sweets. I LOVE the idea of around the world coffee. It really makes this place stick out in my mind. I can’t wait to go back and try more. The girl behind the register was extremely sweet and friendly. I am just subtracting one star because(while this might be an awesome thing to some people) this place was quiiiiet! My friend and I were all library whispers talking to each other because we were worried about disturbing those working away on their laptops. However, that will not stop me from visiting again very soon!

This morning Rosa J. «tricked» hubby to have a little coffee date together. I inquired his whereabouts for the calls he was going to service. I then recalled the purchase of Groupon for«Wired Coffee House» on Broadway near the Lakeshore Drive. Perfect! He didn’t seem to veto this idea. On the other hand, he needed to thank me for giving him a spontaneous coffee break because the varieties of coffee and tea beverages are very interesting. Other than the usual coffee, Americano, latte, and mocha that are offered in most coffee shops around town, they provide Turkish coffee, international menu, and other fun stuff for a food adventurist like myself. I spotted the«White Flat» Australian latte on the wall and made it my pick of the day. This Australian latte is a double-shot of espresso with the milk foam on top. I was wise enough to tag a piece of sweet chocolate cake to go with it. The drink itself wasn’t utterly bitter because the milk foam«offset» the initial kick coming from the espresso. To alleviate the aftermath buzz, I would recommend to pair with sweet dessert. Hubby had the«London Fog,» or the Earl Grey tea latte. The young man informed hubby that it was his first time making this drink. Oh well, he followed the instruction just fine. As a retail manager, I always appreciate my associates who are able to follow and read the instructions before trying to get me to step in for the convenience. Sorry, I digressed a bit. Wired provides free wifi, unique beverages, friendly service, and is located at the prime, beautiful Lakeview neighborhood. After leaving Wired and passing by the crowded, mediocre St*rbucks nearby, I just smh…

This is a cute little place. Very little, though, so if tight spaces are not your kind of thing, you’d probably better not. Nevertheless, this is a cute place. The customer service is good, they have free wifi(of course), and they have a public printer. The printer is a nice touch. At the time of this writing it costs«as low as .0.19 cents per page. Just nice to know if I’m ever in a crunch and need to print something in a flash. I was there for almost 3 hours and saw no one using it, to give you an idea of how busy the printer can be(it’ll be all yours, in some cases! lol). You shouldn’t be printing anything terribly private, though, because the instructions on the printer require that you email your documents to them. I don’t know, maybe you have to print a homework assignment? A flyer or other not so private document. To each his own. Anyway, it’s nice that they have one. Be nice if you could connect to it wirelessly without having the need to email your document to a third party. Still, again, nice to have and know there’s a printer. Other than that, they have a decent selection of coffees, sandwiches, muffins and more. Will definitely be returning.

Cute little coffee shop! The workers here are super sweet. I stopped by cause I wanted to try out the XO Marshmallow latte. For me not being a latte drinker it was pretty good. I also noted it’s a nice quiet place to study. You should stop by if your in the area.

Cute coffee shop on Broadway/Cornelia operated by father/daughter. I’ve always wanted to try this place after walking by so many times. Stopped by with a friend on a Saturday and there were a few people working on their computers, drinking and eating. They offer plenty of menu items(breakfast, paninis, soups, salads, snacks, and hot/cold drinks). They offer a cool International experience(Turkish, Viennese, Italian, South African, British, Australian and Mexican) — consisting of a hot drink and small snack which are typically served in various countries. I chose the Viennese, which consists of a cup of Weiner mélange topped with whipped cream, served with a piece of artisan chocolate and Austrian pastry. The mélange tasted like cappuccino and was tasty. They offer free wifi, daily newspapers and various reading materials to pass the time. The place is quiet and is suitable for studying or getting some work done. Seems popular to pop-in and grab a coffee to go. Overall, a cool and cozy coffee shop serving up good drinks and food.

Lakeview is a pretty hip place. It’s full of those trendy independent coffee shops where you aren’t sure whether you’re supposed to order a hand drip coffee or a piece of abstract expressionist art. Don’t get me wrong, I like those places. It’s just that they aren’t cozy. You can’t relax in place like Bow Truss or Intelligencia. That’s where a place like Wired Coffee Bar fits in. It’s a place where you can come in and feel at home. Instead of Beach House they play Beatles on the stereo. Instead of a cool 20 something with ambitions of international barista fame, you have the friendly proprietor(and sometimes his family) who gets excited about making his King Gargantuan Panini. But don’t get me wrong, just because it’s comfy doesn’t mean that the food and coffee here isn’t great. The Paninis are phenomenal, and I’ve certainly had a strong desire to steal my neighbor’s food at times. They also have multiple international coffee experiences where you can experience global coffee culture right from this basement café in the mid west. If you’re looking for a cozy place to relax in Lakeview, this is the place for you.

I’ve only walked in here once. Although I’ve lived across the street for 13 years.(It’s only been a coffee shop for the last few). It’s a dumpy converted basement. That’s one of the main reasons I haven’t stopped in. Seems like a terrible place to get coffee. Also, up until a few months ago it was called«seemens coffee” which regardless of whatever justification exists, that is a terrible and disturbing name. Which makes me question the competency of this whole basement based coffee organization. I know mole men and basement dwellers develop different sensibilities over time, but cmon. Seemens coffee. Jeez. Anyway, it was windy and cold out. April weather that makes you weak. So on a whim, instead of walking the two blocks to Peet’s, I decided to just get my Americano at Wired coffee. It’s just water and expresso, so no need for me to suffer the injustice of walking all the way to Halstead and Cornelia and back. I walked in and waited at the empty counter. Having some spare time, I looked over their menu. $ 3.45 for a small Americano. Fck. You don’t pay over $ 2.50 anywhere for that. I changed my mind and walked out. I’d say I was in there for 90 seconds. So that’s it. Maybe if there’s some really bad weather again I’ll give it another try(although I’m moving).
