Best pharmacy experience I’ve had in Chicago and I’ve used several continuously over the last 2 years. The pharmacists are professional and friendly and my scripts are always ready on time. Overall it’s a great store considering its smaller size and it’s much needed in the neighborhood.

OK. So this Walgreens is really small. I get that and sometimes things can get a little out of control. I was in there recently and I just wanted to get some aspirin. To my surprise all the medical products were locked up. I guess that’s understandable considering it’s a smaller Walgreens and they don’t want any theft issues. I asked some gentleman who was working there to help me get some things out and he gave me a very abrupt«just one minute!» As if I was really bothering him. So once I try to retrieve the medicine I ended up grabbing the wrong box. I had to call them back which seem to really bother him. He said in a real nasty voice«you need something else» I told him I grabbed the wrong box and he told me «I was busy doing something else» I understand being busy and I understand the pressure of trying to figure out what you need to do for that day. I too work in customer service. I was just really turned off by his nasty demeanor. You worked in customer service. You work in the field where people need medicine. Why are you so mean? I didn’t hire you or give you the job. There are many other drugstores in the area I can go to and I will be going to those. Not good Walgreens.

Specifically about the pharmacy… THISISHOW A NEIGHBORHOODPHARMACYSHOULDBE!!! My experience was like a commercial! I called the pharmacy with random questions about some medical equipment and vaccinations. A pharmacist picked up and talked me through all of my questions — not once feeling rushed. I walked in after they phoned me that my prescription was ready. They were very careful to check my insurance and when not all of my treatments were covered gave me some options. I even did a walk in vaccination. The entire staff was friendly, informative and considerate. I watched them take care of 5 other customers all of whom had similar experiences. Seriously they could just film the commercial by filming these guys live for 10 minutes. Highly unexpected for a chain, but I am glad I did so.!.

It’s Walgreens. It’s open, you can fill your prescriptions and get out. That’s it.

One of the saddest Walgreens I’ve ever seen. Dirty and depressing. So you submitted your prescription order online for pickup? Doesn’t matter — they won’t have it anyway. You just have to come in, place the order again and wait. Very limited hours and gruff service.

It was so hard to find this place. We drove past it a couple of times because it was so dark and unassuming. It’s definitely one of the older Walgreens in Chicago. Inside, it’s pretty small and cramped compared to my local Walgreens. I think this one could use a little bit of TLC from corporate or do something to make it stand out.

This place needs a serious make-over and the drugstore part is just ok, but the pharmacists there have been awesome. I’ve had trouble getting my prescription approved by insurance, and they have been calling the ins. company, checking in with me, and checking other stores to get a similar med until this prescription goes through. So the store = 3 stars, the pharmacy gets 5. Thanks!

disclosure: i do not go to this walgreens for anything other than pharmacy walgreens is a chain, and i go to their pharmacies because they are a chain. it doesn’t matter where i live, i can usually transfer prescriptions to a walgreens nearby. this particular walgreens has been my pharmacy off and on for a while. and usually i don’t review chains. why the review? because one of the pharmacists here is exceptionally kind and helpful. when i have been waiting for my doctor to the return the pharmacies calls for a refill the pharmacist offered an emergency refill and was just generally nice when he could tell i wasn’t feeling well. dealing with a short or unhelpful pharmacist can be stressful when often you don’t feel good or could potentially feel bad if you don’t get a prescription(hay fever in the fall in Chicago whaaaaat?!!) and even when i don’t get the super nice pharmacist everyone else is helpful and makes the place feel like a local pharmacy. and that is impressive for a chain.

Well I returned to this place for a prescription and must say that both Pharmacists were very courteous, helpful and friendly. Mr. Patel was there but I didn’t catch the woman’s name. They were equally great and gave top notch service. I still think the décor and signage is seriously out of date and touch with the neighborhood but these two employees made the place stand out in a positive way.

Employees are super nice. I was looking around for a face was for my little cousin, one of the girls walked over and asked me if I needed help. Normally I say no, but I was buying for my teenage cousin. She helped me pick one. I probably would have sat there forever comparing them. I was checked out super quick and the guy was really nice. It’s the typical pharmacy and product in every Walgreens, so I don’t see what all the mixed reviews are all about. Its Walgreens people…

They get at least 2 stars because they do(for the most part) have your standard in-a-pinch Walgreens stuff. They lose 3 stars, however, for service and the fact that they NEVEREVEREVER have a gallon of skim milk or eggs when I need them. Do I just go on the wrong day every single time? Do they get delivered on Monday, purchased en mass on Tuesday and I find myself angry yet again on Wednesday? What gives? There’s always 2% and Vitamin D milk on hand, but I’m used to skim milk. I know they sell it because the little tag in the cooler says«Skim Milk.» I have never once successfully purchased eggs or skim milk there. I’ve given up all hope and now go to the bodega down the street. Yes, it’s two blocks further away, but they even sell such rare delectables as bacon and butter in reliable quantities. Customer service is predictable Walgreens customer service, but just because I’m used to receiving crappy service doesn’t mean that they get a pass. People are friendly enough, but I’m always waiting for the high school-aged cashier to finish his or her conversation with his or her high school-aged friend before I get cashed out. Ring me up so I get the h%ll out of there, then you can finish gossiping free of any distraction. I go here for toothpaste, toilet paper and gum. That’s about it.

Yes, it’s just a Walgreens. And it’s a relatively smaller one so they have the basics but the selection is not terrific. And the employees are not the MOST helpful or joyous people, but they also work at Walgreens. I cut them some slack. But when you’re in a pinch for ice cream, cigarettes, mascara, tortilla chips, greeting cards or prescription/over the counter drugs then this place is a semi-solid bet. And the store closes at 9 pm, not 8 pm like the other reviews have stated.

It’s a Walgreens. No better or worse than others. Not only does the store close at 8:00, but they’ve changed the pharmacy hours and the pharmacy now closes earlier. As a good Unilocaler I would share these with Unilocaldom but I have no idea what the pharmacy hours are in the evenings, as they aren’t posted anywhere. All I know is that I showed up and the pharmacy was shuttered with a sign that said it is against the law to dispense drugs without a pharmacist on duty. Now if I have to deal with limited hours and the lack of parking here, I might as well go to the Osco on Ashland or the CVS on Ogden. And I won’t be buying the Walgreens ice cream or other junk people buy when they pick up a prescription. What if I were afflicted with a burning sensation when I urinate or maybe I am suffering from a toenail fungus or that restless leg thing they advertise on TV. Dang, so I have to come back for my prescription and deal with my aliment for another day.

This Walgreens is no good. It’s dirty. They have horrible hours. They open at 8am and close at 8pm every single day. Why would Walgreens close at 8pm? I witnessed a worker leave after her shift with a few purchased items and as she opened the wrappers she tossed them on the sidewalk. I couldn’t believe it, I was speechless. Finally after staring in shock for about 30 seconds I was able to say, «Excuse me, there is a garbage can right there on the corner, do I need to throw this away for you?» She looked at me like I was nuts. If you have a choice, don’t go to this Walgreens.
