The absolute most talented high end photographer in the city, maybe even in the nation. Kristina Carter, you are amazing!
We hired Kristina to do our engagement session and wedding photography. We were truly stunned with her talent. She is extremely laid back and makes her clients 100% comfortable with the cameras (in our case, Jon had a few glasses of wine before our engagement shoot to loosen up!). She is amazing at catching the «real» moments of your special day — she studied ecology and got her Masters in behavior which explains her amazing 6^th sense of anticipating these magic moments. She listens to you as a couple to figure out what makes you tick before doing any shoots. She is able to realize what elements will truly reflect you two as a couple. She will do posed shots if requested, but the beauty of these shots are the little moments that you didn’t even realize were happening. Wiping a tear, laughing uncontrollably during the best man speech, grandparents holding hands, little girls looking at the bride in awe, detail shots of everything from the floral to the table set up to the name cards to the appetizers to the event space. She and her team are constantly watching and waiting from different angles and lenses and locations to catch the true moments and true spirit of your day. Its those little moments in between the planned parts of the day that really make these photos come to life and set her talent above and beyond any we have seen before. The one thing you will have forever from your wedding day are these pictures, so don’t skimp on the talent. Its worth it. We had two photographers for 10 hours. She took 2,000 photos and then edits all of them. You have the choice (which we did) to purchase the digital negatives. This way we are able to put them on both of our parents computers and let them print the ones they want. We also are finalizing our leather art book which Kristina is a master at designing. The perfect commemoration of our perfect wedding day!
Not only is Kristina a joy to be around and ridiculously talented — she has fantastic ideas of where to shoot to capture the best of the best in our city. We shot our engagement pictures near North Ave Beach and in front of the Wrigley Building. On our wedding day she started in the suite with myself and my bridesmaids getting ready while Aaron took photos of the groomsmen. Then the first time Jon and I saw each other, both photographers were there to get my reaction and Jon’s at the same time in Olive Park with luscious greenery and nature surrounding. A quick walk with the entire bridal party to overlooking Oak Street Beach with the city and the lake in the background. Our final offsite location was on Franklin Street Bridge to give us that urban city feel. We feel like we got the best Chicago has to offer because of Kristina’s expertise and advice.
Kristina is also extremely environmentally conscious and uses recycled paper for stationary and paperless proofs.
