Doesn’t seem to open on Sunday. I tried calling 3 times no answer. Make sure that you can them before coming here. The place looks like a home, and there’s no sign of business.

Had a slightly bent front rim and needed a quick truing. Charles’ dad John was there and asked me to bring it by. He fixed it and tuned up the front break as well, rather than just getting it work. $ 10, a nice chat and 15 minutes later, I was on my way, near good as new. You’d never get that from one of the bigger bike shops. Nice to support one of the little guys.

called on a sunday during the hours it said was open… no answer, so rode bikes over with my daughter. impossible to find this place. I gave up after a bit since the unit had no clear hint that it was the correct place. I’d love to give him another shot if I can find him because he is super close to where we live. perhaps I will have an updated review someday.

Charles the owner is a college student who is really fond of bikes. Without the overheads of renting he uses his parent’s garage as his bike workshop. Even though it’s a garage, he have all the tools needed to fix the bike and his is really good at it! I came in today with two flat tires and I come out 20 min later with new tires just for 17 dollars! Make sure you make appointment with him first through text messaging and he will be on time and never let you down.

Before moving to Chicago in the fall I got a full tune up done on my bike, but when I brought it out of hibernation few weeks ago, my back breaks stopped working. I couldn’t identify the issue, so I looked around and was directed to this business. After a few crazy scheduling conflicts(ALL on my part!), I finally managed to get my bike over to Velorepair. I had an absolutely amazing experience. I learned so much about my bike(which was AWESOME), including how to fix my breaks if it happens again, and I was taught so many preventative maintenance tips. I even got some help on attaching a bike rack. I was shown exactly what what happening the whole time and the education was extremely appreciated. I HIGHLY recommend Velorepair. The service was extremely personal and overall a phenomenal experience for a very reasonable price. I really enjoyed the family/dad-and-son business experience. I have definitely found my bike place in Chicago! :)

They may not have the convenience of a storefront, but the reasonable prices, personal service, excellent communication, and quality work more than make up for it. I was able to arrange a convenient drop off time via email, received a spot on estimate and it was parked out front ready to go as promised. He reviewed all the work he did for me, and had taken a test ride to make sure it was perfect. I have an older bike that I use for commuting that probably isn’t the easiest to work on, but he had it running better than it has in years. They have a passion for bikes, and you’ll enjoy your rides much more after they get through with your trusty steed!

Brought my Trek Mtn Bike and my wife’s older Hybrid bike here for a seasonal tune up. My wife’s bike is almost 20 years old and has never had one. John was able to get the bike riding like new. She was floored. He also took the time to show me the adjustments he was making when i arrived a few moments early. He is extremely friendly, knowledgeable and honest. I will be getting all of my future repairs and tune ups done here.

I bike commute all year long in the city. I came referred to VeloRepair after striking up a conversation with an older gentleman on the lakefront riding a strikingly beautiful vintage bike. I checked their website and exchanged emails with John regarding a few bike questions. I just picked up my daily commuter from its pre-winter tune up and all I can say is, «Yeah!» I had two badly worn tires replaced. John replaced a damaged pedal with a pair he picked up(ridiculously) cheap. And, the tune up? OMG. SUCH attention to detail. The front dérailleur as delivered to John was grit and rust frozen in place. Fixed. When I arrived at his garage, he was wiping down the bike with protectant, which is a very nice touch no one would ever see. Every teeny-tiny nook and cranny was immaculate and in showroom working order. John is a craftsman. Prices cannot be beat. If you live or work in the vicinity, or are willing to go a little out of your way for your bike, and want to work with great people, I can’t recommend VeloRepair highly enough.
