I hate to do this but this was once one of my favorite spots. I ordered from them all the time. Unfortunately, this last delivery order was completely mishandled to the point where the driver lied about attempting to deliver! I don’t appreciate the implication that I’m lying just to get a refund! Do something. Fix your operation. Fire your driver. Try to compensate for the bad experience! You will lose good customers. I’m one of them. Good bye. It was nice while it lasted.

Really disappointed I didn’t get take-out from my usual place instead, but I thought the vegan tom yum might be a good option for a vegan who has trouble finding good tom yum at non-vegan Thai places. Unfortunately, the tom yum was absolutely terrible. WAY, WAY, WAY too sweet — it tasted like they just dumped a bunch of sugar in it or something. Not only that, the only thing in it was tofu, tomatoes, mushrooms, and the odd lime lead and lemongrass. No greens, peas, etc. For $ 8! We ended up dumping the gross broth and just eating the tofu on something else. The radd nahr(lard nar) was similarly underwhelming, with the tofu cubes not even fried or otherwise meaningfully incorporated into the flavor of the dish, such as it was. The broth was pretty bland, and neither the broccoli nor the noodles had any kind of flavor from being cooked in a wok. The last dish we tried was the cashew dish, which we had with the vegan chicken. The only significant vegetables/other ingredients in this one were pineapple, carrot, bell pepper, and cashew, along with non-fresh(pickled I think) chilis for heat. The red rice was pretty mushy and bland, but this dish was ok, though just barely. I think the bottom line is that they just don’t cook at a high enough heat, so nothing gets seared/charred/caramelized and ends up kind of soggy instead. If this place was cheap, you could just write this off as bad Thai food, but they actually charge a premium for it, somehow.

One of my favorite spots the neighborhood. The Pad Thai is fantastic, and they’re happy to make it spicy for you. Great for vegans and non-vegans alike! I would give it five stars if it had better ambiance… A little lighting change can go a long way! It’s a great little BYOB date spot, and would be so much better if some small adjustments were made to the space. Other than that, can’t go wrong!

Yum! This place is deliciously vegan and after 3 orders I can only say great things! Seriously my fave restaurant since becoming vegan!

Hands down best vegan resturant I have been too… granted I only been to 1 other one, but I hated that one. The prices are reasonable, the staff is attentive, and they have soo many food options. I loved it. I am not vegan, but I would and will come back to this place. It’s a pretty small resturant, but the food is great and the options as well as portion size is good. Deff coming back for more!

If they arrive in a reasonable amount of time, «Freshi» lettuce wrapped in spring rolls and some steamed dumplings in coconut milk for $ 22 might be a little underwhelming. When it takes 2 hours, it starts to seem like a rip off.

Yum! I love Urban Vegan so much. I order from there several times a month. It’s pretty much the only place I order from at all! I am obsessed with the soy chicken wrap and their delicious fries, but everything I’ve had has been super tasty! The orange chicken is amazing, the pad Thai, the curry… Everything is just delicious. The staff is super friendly too & the prices are super reasonable.

So impressed with this place! I’m not a vegan, but ANYONE could enjoy the food from here. I was nervous going in, but am now anxious to go back!

Nope. First of all, I ordered for pick up and I was standing around waiting in a hot, tiny space for about 20 minutes(after they said my order was ready). I have to say they were rude on the phone and they were rude in person, too. But the worst part is, I saw them microwave my pot stickers from a giant Costco size bag of frozen pot stickers. At least try not to whip that out in from of the customer!!! This place obviously does not service fresh, homemade food. That was the first and last time I go there.

I needed a quick bite around dinner time so I decided to get an appetizer from Urban Vegan. I got an order of the Freshly Rolls. I was sadly dissappointed. The ratios of the rolls was off, it was like 75% shredded romaine lettuce, 24% soy chicken, and thai spaghetti, and 1% fresh herbs. Seriously, like a single leaf of basil in each large roll. One plus was that the serving size was excellent for the price. Ultimately, I ate most of the rolls, as they were saved by the hoisin and chili dipping sauces, and I did feel satisfied. But the rolls overall lacked in flavor and texture, as they were too far dominated by romaine. At least it was fresh, crunchy lettuce! The atmosphere of the place was very nice, and service was excellent. Wish I could have tried another item on the menu to see if it had better quality! But the people here were so nice and the menu did seem very good, so I would give them another try.

They hit a rough patch but are back on their game. Super fresh and super-flavorful — and I’m telling myself it’s healthy though not sure about the fat and salt levels. Freshly Rolls are always great(with the sauce) — and the spice eggplant and green curry are out staples with seitan«Chicken.» The delivery service(third party) can be hit or miss so best to follow up with the restaurant directly sometimes. But the owners and staff are super sweet. I’ve only ordered out — the in restaurant experience is über-casual but the food would be fresher stlll.

Ordered through Unilocal’s Eat24 and had the worst delivery experience. Took over an hour and a half to receive my order. Called the restaurant 5 times for status updates after I waited 20 minutes past the«dedicated delivery time,» whatever that means. The phone receptionist kept telling me shed contact the driver and call me back with status. She never did. Hence why I had to keep calling back. My girlfriend was looking forward to a healthy dinner. The order came so late she had to leave and never got to eat. Ruined the evening. The only saving grace would have been quality food. The salad I got was pathetic. The romaine lettuce was basically white. No green nutrients whatsoever. The tomatoes were also very pale and sickly looking. Call me old fashioned but I’m used to tomatoes being red. Not light pink. The orange chicken was good though. I didn’t taste the extra salad and neither did my girlfriend. Like I said, she missed dinner because it was delivered so late. It looked sickly and lacking any nutrition also. Why do all vegan restaurants have to suck? Honestly. It’s pathetic. No wonder there are so few vegans. The options are slim to none. This place included.

I eat here somewhat often, the food is fantastic and delightful and as healthy or unhealthy as you want it to be. This review, though, is just for the mango sticky rice. It’s blue. I mean, it’s delicious. The mango is fresh and ripe, served ever so slightly cooler than room temperature; the rice is warm, slightly salty and with that rich coconut milk sweetness. Also, the rice is literally blue. Regardless, it is the second best sticky rice I have ever consumed, and I shall endeavor to consume it again, with frequency, before it’s out of season. Did I mention that the rice was blue? It was totally blue.

I wasn’t blown away, but this not a bad spot. The pad thai lunch special is a good deal and it’s delicious. The garlic sauce is great. Someone mentioned they were looking for egg-less pad thai(vegan)… Well here, they make it without egg. However nothing is added to make up for it. I had the spicy fried rice and it was not much more than a hill of bell peppers and onions mixed with black rice. The taste was good though. Too many bell peppers and onions though. I would have enjoyed other vegetables. I dunno, I wasn’t too impressed, but if in the neighborhood I might stop by and have the pad thai lunch special again. Oh– RESIST the Unilocal Check-In Offer! A free deep fried banana wrapped in spring roll dough? Yuck!

The good folks at Urban Vegan know how to work a hot wok and keep me supplied with delicious fake meats. I’m also impressed with the default brown rice — healthy grains and vegetarian proteins aren’t cheap but their menu is comparable to conventional Thai places.

Super quick carry out service! This was the second time I’ve ordered something from Urban Vegan. Last time I had a salad. While it was good, it wasn’t super special. Last night I had the spicy eggplant with soy chicken. It was good. Again, not anything super spectacular, but good, fresh food.

I placed a phone order for pick up. Only ten minutes, they said. Boom! It was ready as soon as I walked in the door. I ordered yellow curry with tofu. It wasn’t just good, it was ridiculously good. The smooth curry sauce had sweet potatoes, carrots and onions. Let’s hear it for antioxidants and vitamin A! The sauce had a mild spice that played nicely with the sweeter flavors of the vegetables. The vegetables were cooked well and still had some bite. The menu said the dish came with brown rice, but it looked more like a red rice. Anyway, the rice was a nutty, chewy vehicle for the delicious sauce. The tofu was soft and fresh. You know it’s good when you’re already looking forward to your next order.

Today was our first time to Urban Vegan and OMG squared how have we lived so long without it!?! I have had my eye on going here for quite some time but it was the cashier at our local Whole Foods who sealed the deal when she said the Orange Chicken was to die for. She was right! My partner(non-vegan) and I had an early dinner and totally made pigs out of ourselves. To start we split the veggie dumplings it was like POW! flavor explosion. For the main course, he got the Pad Thai and I got the Orange Chicken. The Pad Thai was amazingly good and fresh and the little spring rolls that came with it were like KABOOM! flavor explosion. The Orange Chicken was so damn good that my partner had to ask if they were sure it was vegan. We finished up with the Banana rolls which were pretty good. The price point is better than awesome! Between the two of us we had two cokes, the appetizer, two complete dinners, dessert and shhhh an additional order of those delicious spring rolls and we walked out with plenty of leftovers for lunch and only spent $ 50. NOLIE! Huge fans and we will be back. I recommend UV to anyone and everyone.

I must say I have tried several vegan restaurants(per my check-ins) and this is my favorite vegan Thai restaurant so far. I usually get the yellow coconut curry with soy chicken plate and it’s very tasty. I’m obsessed with the rice that I always forget to ask the waitress what kind it is. My sister got the tofu chicken pad Thai and she was shocked at how great it was because of it being vegan(she’s not a fan of «fake» stuff). Very reasonable with prices and the amount of food given is more than enough. I would def recommend this place for the vegans and anyone who is looking for some pretty vegan restaurants. This is a must!

I am a vegan and I love Thai food, so how could I not love this place? The food is delicious and it is a relief to be able to order anything off the menu without worrying. My favorites: — The spring rolls — The curry dumpling appetizer is a must. You won’t regret it. They are you’ll-be-licking-the-bowl-when-you’re-done good. — Any of the stir fried flat noodle dishes with soy shrimp added. I love the soy shrimp! — The green curry dish. Yuuuuuum. Other highlights: — Cute neighborhood to walk around before or afterwards — Adorable little hole-in-the-wall space with twinkly colored lights in the window. Great ambiance making it the perfect cozy spot for a cold evening, a sweet date night for that vegan you’re trying to impress, or a good place to meet your friend. — Vegan miso soup comes with your meal — BYOB — Reasonable prices. Everything is around $ 10, give or take a few dollars. There’s nothing to dislike about Urban Vegan! So happy this place exists!
