Fantastic toy selection… poorly staffed. This store has so much potential but the Lincoln Park staff is lacking. I don’t mind paying a little bit more for toys when the staff is knowledgable and engaging but in my last few trips the staff has been more interested in each’s personal gossip than they are in their customers. If you’re looking for an independent toy store in the city, there are better options.

This place makes me happy. I’ve been buying my niece gifts here for years — since she was a toddler through young elementary. I credit the smart layout of the store and well-organized website with enabling me to appreciate the products but not going into doting aunt/«I wish they had this when I was a kid» overdrive. There’s everything here — plush toys, hand-eye coordination toys, games, educational toys, remote control fun, play pretend, dolls, books, building toys, arts and crafts, etc. Toys et cetera is a well-rounded store with items for all age ranges, developmental goals, multicultural interests and has multiple price points, which helps with budgeting gifts. If you get on their mailing list, they periodically send you sale pages detailing new products and discounts per item category. I only wish I had more children to shop for.

I took my 3 year old in the other day. We were there for an addition to his Thomas collection. The girls in the store were very friendly and my little on enjoyed playing with the Thomas train table they had set up. It had been played with lots… infact you might want to replace the unworking parts. Other than that… Glad we found you.
