The awning tells the truth, this bar is okay. Sizeable bar on one side, pool table in the back, and couch seating along all the walls provide a warm and comfortable setting under red lights. As the tables are pretty big and there’s a garden in the back, this is a good place to come with a big group. A decent selection of Eastern European beers(Zywiec, Okocim, Radogast, Golden Pheasant) is served on tap in standard or large(0.5 l) glasses, quite a deal. You can make yourself more Polish by adding a red syrup(raspberry, I believe) to your beer, or try a shot of Zubrowka, the fabled vodka bottled with a stalk of grass peed on by buffalo in the world’s most untainted forest(«Those buffalo sure know how to pee!» my delighted friend exclaims).

This place is pretty good. By the time we got there on a Thursday night(10 pm-ish), the seats were almost all occupied. Although the crowd was all polish, the bartenders were very friendly and welcoming(to us asians who stood out)… and the other people there were very kind as well. I would visit this place again.

This place is great– A younger, mostly Polish crowd(that seems to be groups of friends) comes here to share one of the beer garden tables(think fancy picnic table) inside. Everyone here is nice, the beer is strong Polish stuff(if you like your beer sweet, ask ‘em to bring you their syrup to dump in your beer– yummier than it sounds), and the people are good looking Polish kids out socializing with friends. If you think it’ll be nice to get away from fat, disgusting dive-bar Chicagoans slurping their beer every once in a while, this place is Euro in a really nice way.
My friends and I came here one night when we were already pretty smashed and the waitresses were super nice to us– our OK’s(OKocim is the Polish beer brand after which the pub is named– OK for short) were kept full, and they even hooked us up with the free end-of-the-night shots we needed to completely obliterate ourselves! That don’t happen at many hipster bars.
