The Splat Flats

Wow! This is a groovyass artists collective that offers clean and cozy studios for artists of all types.
I recently attended an open house and was very impressed with the range of art and artists. Highligts included the stained glass pieces, which were absolutely beautiful, and the animé-​esque cartoon drawings. Painters, printers, designers, and photographers also work and exhibit here.
What’s awesome about the Splat Flats is the sense of quiet community. The spaces, while all enclosed and private, have a warmth and friendliness that was happily palpable, and the apartment-​friendly size of the art is commensurate with the small nature of studios. Most of the pieces I saw were very affordable and possessed a unique quality of intensely personal vision.
The studios themselves are extremely afforable, although I deducted a star for not having a phone number available to the public. Sometimes you just gotta call!
