The Reluctant Vegetarian

Oh my goodness — I just attended an event last night where The Reluctant Vegetarian was catering. First of all– let me just say that I’m not vegetarian by any stretch of the imagination. I love my bacon and my swine! I wasn’t really hungry, but decided to try one of her wraps — she explained that it was a «new years» wrap with collard greens and black-​eyed peas. I don’t care much for black-​eyed peas, so I decided to pass… Until my friend ate it and said that it was amazing. So I took a taste. Ridiculous. Full of unexpected flavor. It was a southwest-​flavor inspired wrap that also had soy chorizo, cilantro, and other flavorful spices. I was pleasantly surprised. When I asked about the background of the name «The Reluctant Vegetarian», she said it’s because meat tastes good, and she was reluctant to become a vegetarian! True. Meat is delicious. This is probably why she knows how to make delicious wraps — where you think about the flavor more than the fact that there is no meat. I would definitely consider her as a caterer for future events. That’s a lot to say from someone that loves her swine!
