Beer. Beer. Yum. Small, cute, cozy place. Took a minute to get someone to come to us, but after that, the staff was totally forgiving and so fun! The main bartender recommended me the Goose blue line & I was not disappointed. They always have beer specials which was great. Really awesome beer list too! Food was delish! Had the blackened chicken sandwich and mac & cheese. YUM! Fiancé had BBQ pulled pork and fries. Both of our choices were great portions. Fries were killer. Fun atmosphere and really good music! Took away a star because it seemed that our guy had disappeared and he was super easy to work with. And the rest of the staff took quite a while to get us a check. Besides the very end, everything was great! Would come back to drink beer in a heartbeat!

Apparently, our waiter thought that our dinner time was his weed time. This place had the worst service I’ve ever experienced. We ordered an appetizer for five and got two plates that I had to ask for, my wife had to go to the bar to get forks, I’m still waiting for a napkin. The Irish nachos had discussing bag cheese. We were going to eat dinner, but instead went to Dukes. I recommend you do the same.

HUGEPATRIOTSFAN! I love going there to root for my second favorite football team.(still love the Bears) We were there last Sunday(Jan. 24th) to watch the Patriots playoff game vs Denver. What a game! What an atmosphere! What service! We were taken care of! Good Wings, Beers kept coming. Great game to watch but Patriots lost the game, bummer, but our server was super awesome and wearing Patriots gear, tight shirt I might add ;) made the loss a bit ‘bear’able. If you love the Red Sox and the Patriots and want a place to chill, this is the place to go!

The past two times I’ve eaten here I’ve gotten food poison. The first time I thought it wasn’t from here but then it happened again.

Good vibes. Fun groups that come through and good beer selection. My corned beef sandwich was lacking in corned beef and the rye bread was completely burnt-dark black beyond toasty. The grilled chicken sandwich was pretty good though. Our server was very knowledgable of the beer selection too and when I explained my taste he picked out the perfect beer for me. I’ll be back-use the 20% food sales Unilocal check-in coupon!!!

I went during a trivia night and it wasn’t too busy which I enjoyed. The bartenders, waiters, and rest of the staff was so friendly and when I asked for a suggestion on food, was recommended the Short Rib Shepherd’s Pie. Seriously this pie is FANTASTIC. Very flavorful and filling. I just didn’t like the price tag. The drink selection is very standard in my opinion, otherwise I would bump a star!

$ 3 Domestic Drafts, great wings, and the BESTNEWENGLANDPATRIOTSBARINCHICAGO. Other Patriots bars in Chicago are small and cramped this spacious with plenty of TV’s and great sound quality. Def come here if you want to watch a Pats game.

Realistically, this bar is at the top of my list for any given night out in Chicago. Whether you’re looking for some good old fashioned wholesome family fun, or a few quick shots and some friendly conversation, The Hidden Shamrock is the place to be. Graham, the bar manager and beer-selector extraordinaire, has my vote for best bar manager in Chicago, arguably in the world. Graham always keeps the freshest selection of beers on tap, seasonal and the classics. I never walk out of The Hidden Shamrock without trying some of the best beers available. The staff is friendly and always knows exactly what I need at the end of a long day of work. I work in construction, and the thing I love the most about the Shamrock is that it caters to all types of crowds. No matter who you are, you will always feel at home at the Shamrock. There is no better place to drink an ice cold beer and watch a great game on one of the many flat screen TVs that boast the headiest resolution in town. So clear it’s like BEINGATTHEGAME. I love that bar, and I love those people. Go there. Or 10 years of bad luck. GOSTATE(it’s a MSU bar). Liam’s cool too.

I can’t count on my fingers and toes how many times I’ve visited The Hidden Shamrock. Whether it be the typical late night weekend, birthday parties(including my own), football Sunday Funday’s, Trivia on Thursday’s, or just a chill night playing pool and shuffle board with friends — it’s safe to say it’s my ideal spot to be! I’ve watched the menu go from good to great in a matter of months with various food specials throughout the week. Also, being the craft beer snob that I am, I love the fact that there’s ALWAYS without fail new bottles and drafts that I’m able to try. Not to mention how incredibly awesome, friendly and attentive the staff is. Go in there a few times and you’ll be remembered — if you’re ever craving that cheers-family vibe. Finally, I love the fact that I’ve been able to bring all of my out of town friends, co-workers and family here and the environment adapts to whatever kind of night that I want it to be. It’s a plus that everyone I bring there loves the environment just as much as I do. I’m excited to stick around and see how my favorite spot continues to prosper.

We came the Sunday before Memorial Day for trivia night, the place was jam packed with drunk bros and totally understaffed. Not sure if they didn’t plan for the holiday rush or if something went wrong. Unfortunately, some random idiot went around telling people that trivia was canceled(which it wasn’t) and so all the trivia goers left and then it really DID get canceled! Arg! The food looked ok, but it was standard, overpriced-because-we’re-in-Lakeview fare. We canceled our order because it was just too congested and too expensive to stay without the incentive of trivia. To be honest, I would have probably given this place 2 or 3 stars based on my experience and the price, but the bartender who finally came to serve us after 20 minutes of waiting around was REALLY nice and apologetic and even gave us a round on the house for our inconvenience. This is good customer service right here. Unfortunately, so many of the selections recommended on Unilocal heretofore were no longer available and I couldn’t quite make up my mind. I think we had some sort of loaded fries that were decent. But I didn’t pay for them, and as we all know… free food always tastes better. I would consider returning for a trivia night when it’s NOT a bro’s-night-out holiday, but I am not quite sold on the food selection and I don’t drink alcohol so I have no opinion on the drinks other than I got the BIGGEST Shirley Temple I’ve ever seen, so that was satisfying.

I went here a few months ago in the dead of winter and their Shepherd’s pie was perfect! I also like that the menu has quite a bit of Irish cuisine and drink offerings… I will have to try their brunch food someday.

Came here after work one day and was deeply impressed with the service from the bartender Courtney. She was generous with the drinks and tolerated my very unfriendly drinking buddy at the time. Will definitely love to come back here again. One of the best neighborhood bars in the area. Friendly people and the food is REALLYGOOD. The wings are phenomenal and the drinks deliciously potent. Thank you for excellent service and even better ambience

Just left Hidden Shamrock for $ .25 wing night. Great atmosphere(exposed brick, cherry oak counter tops, mirrors, plasmas), two seperate bar areas w/pool table in back, games on, no obnoxious music, extra fatty wings in different flavors(all sauces, including ranch dipping, are home-made there!) Spicy garlic was my fave. Our server Liam made the overall experience even better! Very nice guy, customer service oriented. Definitely recommend.

I was here on business travel and had some time to kill on a Wednesday night and had a great corned beef sandwich and great beer selection which was very affordable. Cara was a very friendly bartender who made it a point to know everyone’s name who sat down. Very welcoming place!

If you’re a Boston sports fan, you’ll find many of your crew here. The service is friendly and food is decent bar food. The one thing I don’t understand is that they spent a ton of money to renovate and they didn’t put in any decent TV’s in the back room. So try to get a seat in the front room.

Came to the Hidden Shamrock for brunch with my girls today and this will without a doubt be our new spot. Between the three of us we got the Crab Cake Benedict, Steel Cut Oats with Roasted Pork Shoulder and Sweet Griddled Bread Pudding and I honestly could not pick a favorite. I was so pleasantly surprised with all the food, awesome cocktails and extensive beer and whiskey selections that I can’t wait to come back for more. This is definitely a must try spot for anyone even if you’re not in the Lincoln Park area.

Stopped in for drinks with friends and really liked the place. Trendy and casual, the servers very friendly. I ordered the Tullamore Hot Toddy and liked it, my friends ordered assorted beers. Will go back if in the neighborhood.
