I’ve tried Eastman twice and don’t see going again. Their location in Ogilvie station makes a stop really convenient, but neither the dining space or the menu are particularly enjoyable. Eastman plays brash radio pop from 6AM hour and the hard seating and other surfaces echo it. It isn’t the kind of place to spend more than 5 to 10 minutes. The Eastman breakfast menu consists mainly of oversized sandwiches and mediocre coffee.

If you like egg sandwiches, you’ll like this place. Delicious breakfast sandwich on a pretzel bun.

Eastman is my go-to grab and go breakfast in the Loop: warm, hearty breakfast sandwiches that are the perfect start to anyone’s day. On my most recent visit, I ordered the Fairfax with avocado: farm egg, egmont cheese, sauteed bell pepper, wilted spinach, house green goddess sauce, 7 grain roll. All ingredients were fresh and the portion size generous. The one negative is the price tag; at ~$ 7 a sandwich without any additions, they are not the most affordable, but worth it for those that care a lot about their bfast.

My absolute favorite place now. The scratch biscuit is just amazing. If you are really hungry add an extra piece of sausage for 1.75.

Very cool place dedicated to the art of the egg sandwich. A nice welcome to Chicago on my trip.

Awesome spot for breakfast. In a very central area of downtown. The breakfast sandwiches were great tasting, filling, and affordable. The coffee was also great. Service was fast. Great place to stop before work or to have a mellow bite with a friend.

I was in downtown Chicago, hosting a corporate event and needed to provide breakfast for a group of approximately 25 people. Eastman’s menu looked appealing, so I placed a call. + Super intuitive, easy-to-understand ordering process + Very helpful ordering/catering staff + Nearly the entire menu is available for catering + They easily accommodate special dietary requests/needs + Delivery was *timely* and spot-on + Breakfast sandwiches were neatly and cleanly wrapped and boxed + Very easy for people to see which sandwiches were which, and what was on each + Fresh fruit bowl featured perfectly-ripe mix of bananas and assorted berries — Only downside: most of the sandwiches were heavy on the bread. If the buns were more appropriately sized, it would’ve been 5-stars, no doubt about it. + I had«The Crown» and loved it — the chorizo was perfectly seasoned and had nearly zero greasiness. The avocado spread was excellent, and the egg was perfectly cooked. Win!

The scoundrel: smoked turkey, wilted spinach, white cheddar, farm egg and house mustard on a pretzel bun. Tasty and well assembled, but as other reviews mentioned, the mustard is too overpowering. It’s a good sandwich worth trying, just ask to get the mustard on the side instead. I ordered the griddled potatoes also– you should pass on them. They seemed lackluster and in need of some Sriracha or something(anything) to give it life. Very hip spot, equal of the noise at a typical coffee shop would certainly come back to try their other breakfast and lunch sandwiches. I’m looking at you, matador and eagle!

I didn’t realize it was just sandwiches but they have an interesting mix of options. Kind of a hipster spot. High tables where you sit with others, great coffee selection and drinks. I tried the matador and it was really good but spicy. My husb had the scoundrel and it is very mustardy and has like a horseradish spice to it. Neither he nor I liked the grilled potatoes that I ordered. That was very disappointing. They were lifeless and tasteless so one bite was all I took. Same with him. Located In a bus area but seems to have lots of locals. It’s pretty good but not what i was looking for.

I tried Eastman’s new location at Ogilvie Station. I’m a huge fan of egg sandwiches but not such much paying $ 8 for an egg sandwich. Took too long and sandwich wasn’t as large as I would have expected for the price. Probably won’t return.

This place is awesome– very simple menu which I really like. I ordered and bacon egg cheese breakfast roll. It was just the right amount although I certainly could have gone for at least one more. They also have fresh juices which were quite good. There is seating available and there was no lines even though we went during peak breakfast hours before 9am. The food itself looks healthy and tastes it so you don’t have that guilt hanging over you for the rest of the day if you had purchased the same bacon egg and cheese from the greasy deli across the street.

I have to start with the fact that I love all things breakfast because it makes my review just the tiniest bit biased. That said, I know a thing or two about breakfast sandwiches, so when I say that«Eastman does it right», They Do It Right! I got the Fairfax, and it was lovely. However, after ordering, I really regretted not getting the sandwich of the month. My advice would be to always check the specials. The servers were really nice, but the it took an oddly long amount of time to make a fairly simple sandwich. To Do: This is for you and me both. I’d really like to try the grilled cheese sandwich and the Bacon Gingersnap cookie(if that’s something they still have).

In the area and looking for a quick Breakfast/Brunch option before sightseeing? Eastman Egg Company is a good choice. I had The Scoundrel. Who would have thought smoked turkey and folded egg would be so tasty. The pretzel bun & mustard helped. I wish I had this as a breakfast option in NYC. My home fries were a little underdone unfortunately. Chai was good. Helpful, friendly staff. I’d go again.

I’ve tried pretty much every single sandwich they have, even the monthly specials. I’ve been to both the store and the truck. I’ve found sometimes the sandwiches are too greasy, but that is my only complaint. The flavors are great. The ingredients are quality and portions are good(other than perhaps a bit too much bread to other items). The Fairfax is surprisingly good, considering there is no meat on it. They park on LaSalle and Adams quite often and I find myself heading over, even when I already had my morning yogurt. :)

took a serious walking pilgrimage to come here… and, it was totally worth it. first, the interior of this place is just lovely and welcoming. clean lines and super fresh feeling. all of the sandwiches looked incredible, but i feel like basics are always good on a first run, and got the Doc. holy yum… so fresh and tasty and perfect. i added avocado. their ciabatta bread is SO delicious. also got an iced coffee and it was really great, love their variety of coffee choices! all in all, this was a $ 14 breakfast. which might be a little on the high side for a breakfast sandwich and a coffee. but, you can definitely taste the quality and care put into it!

The Eastman Egg Company is my absolute favorite place to get breakfast in the morning before a busy day at work! The«Doc» is amazing– just cheese, egg, and bacon– on warm fluffy ciabatta bread. YUM. The only minor complaint I have is that the price is relatively high($ 6 for a breakfast sandwich) but it’s such high quality food that I’m willing to splurge a little! Recommend to everyone!

Within an hour of posting my first review, I received an offer from the sweet business manager to try another meal for free. It took me a while to make it back over to Eastman, but I finally made it back this morning. During my second visit today I opted for«The Crown», which combines some of my favorite ingredients: egg, avocado, cheese, salsa and chorizo. It was easily one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had. The bread was perfectly toasted and not burnt around the edges like during my last visit. All of the ingredients tasted really fresh, and the sandwich was pretty large. I also grabbed one of their gingerbread/snap bacon cookies, which was also very delicious. I was very pleased with my second visit here.

We have Eastman brought in for breakfast at the office a couple times a month. Really tasty sandwiches made with quality ingredients. BUT presentation is very inconsistent. Sometimes the sandwiches are slapped together and are a mess when unwrapped. Sometimes they are overflowing with toppings and sometimes they really skimp on the toppings. This morning we had Eastman brought in. I had my usual Scoundrel — egg, smoked turkey, cheddar, spinach, honey mustard on a pretzel roll. They REALLY skimped on toppings today! A few scraps of turkey and 2 pieces of soggy spinach. Not worth the money if they can’t provide a consistent product.

Finally a good savory breakfast option in town! Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. Service was fast. I tried the bowl, because I am gluten-free.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. The pour over coffee is amazing. Probably the only time it didn’t want to put milk in my coffee. The staff is very happy and helpful. I got the fairfax and added bacon and an extra side of their homemade green goddess dressing and had it put on the pretzel roll. Delicious and fresh. I’m so happy to find a place that sources high quality ingredients. No Farmer John brand bacon here! Instead they source it from a farm in Illinois. Another thing I appreciated was that the bathrooms are clean and have the softest toilet paper of any restaurant I’ve been too. It’s all in the details people! And this place has thought of them. I will reiterate my appreciation of the staff being super smiley and taking pride in their offerings. It really adds to my enjoyment of the food here.
