Hard choice between 2 and 3 stars. I’ve experienced better cuts, but I’ve also experienced much worse. I got my hair cut here 3-​ish months ago by Alyssa and overall it was a positive experience. I was excited to give the place a try, as it’s walking distance from my house, seems to be pretty popular in the neighborhood, is reasonably priced, and has a cool/​cute vibe décor-​wise. I was expecting to pay the price listed on the website for my short haircut but ended up paying $ 10 more because, according to the stylist, it was a correction. Fair enough. I was impressed enough to recommend CM to two friends, who were also looking for a budget-​friendly salon close to home. But when it was time to go back and get a trim I started to hesitate. I felt like I could get the same or better cut at other salons I’d been to for less. A cheap cut is a cheap cut, but I really think there’s a lot of variance in the quality of a $ 45 haircut from salon to salon. My decision not to go back was solidified when my friend went back for her second cut and came out looking like someone used a bowl on her head to cut and create «layers». This might be a great place for color and manicures, but for cuts I would (and did) look elsewhere.

Went for just a manicure bc the reviews seemed pretty good. It was nothing special for me. My nails turned out cute but nothing out of the ordinary. The whole staff seemed nice & friendly, however, which is always a plus. The atmosphere isn’t my thang. Kinda dark & gloomy in my opinion. The seating isn’t too comfy either considering you could easily be in there for at least an hour for a full set or some detailed nail art. All in all, unless I literally lived next door, I probably wouldn’t go back again. But again very nice people.

Love the Cat’s Meow! Their location is perfect for me, so I was hoping I’d like them. And I do!!! Their staff is super friendly and upbeat. The lady who does my waxing is very easy to talk to. She does a great job too! So far I have only come in for waxing, but I plan on getting a manicure one of these days.

This shop is über cute in an eclectic type of way! My manicurist’s name is escaping me but she was fantastic and I really enjoyed talking to her while getting my nails did. My manicure was very well done so I was a happy camper. They play good music, tons of parking outside, overall a good experience here!

Great, place I have tried several other nail salons in the city & they don’t compare. I didn’t feel rushed, Marisol was great! Will be returning soon! Affordable prices as well!

Marisol has the patience of a saint! I came in for a pedicure and an extra special Halloween/​Dia de Los Muertos manicure. I showed Marisol a picture of the nail art I wanted (very intricate sugar skull design) and she got to work on it. She spent nearly 2 hours making it perfect! I couldn’t be happier with my special mani, and the Apple Cider pedicure was one of the best I’ve ever had! The vibe of the salon is wonderful, and the playlist made me re-​live my favorite high school memories (New Order, The Pixies, Supersuckers, etc). I’m definitely coming back for hair and for more special manicures!

I’ve had numerous great experiences with Alyssa. She did an amazing purple/​magenta ombré on my hair and everyone loved it and I would get numerous compliments on it. My color took months for it to fade away and it still looked nice. She recommended me great verb products for my hair which worked wonders for my thick, frizzy, curly hair.
My recent experience with her has been THE BEST. I had a horrible hair cut experience at a salon and she was able to salvage my short hair cut. She made sure to tell me everything she was doing, would explain why she was doing it and was very meticulous. After being upset for days about my haircut she made me leave the salon 100% happy and confident with my new haircut!

I found The Cat’s Meow after a google search for a place to get my nails done in my neighborhood. I called and was able to get an appointment that afternoon. Score.
Upon arriving at TCM, I was greeted by a super friendly staff and taken care of immediately. What an awesome group of ladies. Everyone was hella nice and we chatted about beauty during my manicure. Marisol did my no-​chip and it looks wonderful. Lorelei fixed up my uneven brows to perfection.
What a great first time experience! I even saved some money by staying in my own neighborhood and not going downtown. I will definitely be back and am even considering just switching salons altogether and getting my hair colored here, too.

Love this place! The staff is incredibly friendly and you cannot go wrong with Lorelei’s eyebrow wax! Love it when I can treat myself to a mani/​pedi too! Natural scrubs and lotions is also a plus! Just a great ambiance!

Super friendly staff. Great hand and foot massage with the mani-​pedi. Not a huge color selection, but the had the colors I wanted.

The staff is sooo friendly and sweet here. The owner is always smiling and offers refreshments as soon as you come through. The staff here don’t act pretentious and are welcoming. Actually as I’m writing this I see the owner just cleaning away! They seem to always stay busy and I admire hard work.
I’ve had some waxing done here and a microdermabrasion facial with Melissa. Eyebrows done by Lorelei (I think she’s the owner/​also not sure on the spelling of her name :/​)
I’ve always gotten my brows done by the same girl all the way out in Naperville for the last three years, but I was a little desperate and will admit sligtly nervous (I have one good one and one bad one– hair grows differently) but wow. Shape on point, great trim, quick and painless.
Now to the esthetician. Wow. So full of knowledge and no bs. Brazilian waxing was painless and non intrusive at all. Her facial felt amazing and I really appreciate stylists and estheticians that really educate themselves in their fields.
I love this place.

My 3^rd positive review for Cat’s Meow stylists. Been going to CM since it opened for all my dude cut/​hair needs. Emily, falls right in line with my other former Cattie Meow stylists. I’ve heard you’re never supposed to get a haircut, let alone whole new cut/​style on NYE or the day of a wedding. I rolled the dice seeing as there was a precedence of excellence with former stylists, and boy I’m glad I did. I was the best man at a wedding and the day of I got a haircut from Em. Emily is technically and stylistically perfect for my hair needs. I have a great head of hair for a dude in his late 30’s. I’m slowly growing out of my longhair phase and Emily has been sheering the madness into cohesion. I challenge dudes to find a technically more sound PLUS fashionable /​good looking non-​barber shop cut.
I am constantly getting compliments from women about my haircuts since Emily has helmed the scissors. From random strangers in Montana to Mom’s in Irish pubs in the burbs all amazed at the creativity and cut I’ve received from Cats Meow and Emily.
Ladies a great place to steer your dude, Dad or brother if they’re looking for a nice modern /​classic looking hairdo. (Think tastefully edgy I have a corporate job).

As a guy with mediocre nail health, I understand that my manicure experience will be somewhat different than most others’. That being said, I’ve had more than a few and was greatly looking forward to my first one in a while and at a brand new place with such good reviews. Perhaps I was booked with a novice (Marisol), but I did not enjoy my experience here.
Uneven clipping, uneven buffing, incomplete polish cover with visible bubbles, and a massage that made me feel as though I should have rubbed myself (I’ve had the practice).
Anyway, I’d hate to think that this wasn’t a freak occurrence, but feedback is feedback, and I will not be back.

This is my second time being here for a no chip manicure and pedicure. The vibe is super chill. The staff here is very friendly and attentive. My last no chip lasted me the entire 2 weeks which is impressive because I work as a nurse and am constantly washing my hands either with soap and water or hand sanitizer. It helps that this is within walking distance of where I live. I’m glad that there’s a place in my neighborhood where I know I can get my nails done!

Im a guy, so I only got my hair cut, no waxing, or nails, or any other services sorry.
That said, Emily did a great job updating my cut/​style. She recommended I try something new and I admit I was very hesitant because it was going to require my doing new things to fix it, and I hate new things. It turned out way better (and easier) than I had hoped, and I received immediate positive reaction from all my female coworkers (seriously, all of them said how nice my new hairs looked.) I even went out and invested in a hair blow dryer. Thanks Emily and The Cat’s Meow.
PS they play punk rock, which is awesome, because I went in expecting a salon to be playing Kenny g or yanni or something.

I needed a mani and pedi. I am new to the area, so I took to Unilocal.I searched for the top places in my neighborhood and The Cat’s Meow was on the top of the list. I was happy to see the option to make an online appointment for the next day, since it was 11pm.
Saturday afternoon I walked the two blocks over to the salon and was greeted by the lovely manager. The décor was cute 50’s Style Glam. Marisol did a fabulous job! Very attentive, friendly conversation and my nails looked fabulous! She did such a great job, I made an appointment for her to do some nail art before a trip I have coming up.
Definitely referring all my friends here!

I came in for a basic cut, fixing the grown out layers another local salon had given me that made me look more «soccer mom» than I’d like. The Cat’s Meow fixed me right up.
What struck me the most was how sweet the girls all were. They greeted all their customers like they were friends and as I was getting my hair cut, my stylist was visited by a friend who was dropping off a piece of art they’d been working on. It was just an easy-​going vibe… like Cheers, but with pedicures and hair clippers.

I have been going to The Cat’s Meow for about two years and love love love it! Lori does my eyebrows, making them amazing every time. Waxing used to be so painful for me, but she makes it an easy process and my skin never burns after. Lori makes my eyebrows look fantastic! Alyssa cuts/​colors my hair and she also makes my hair amazing. When my previous stylist left and did not leave my color formula, Alyssa created a new one that was perfect for me. I do not have a particular hair style, just ask for it to not be too short. Alyssa completely understands what I mean, styles it and leaves it at a great length!
The salon is adorable and one of the cleanest I have been to. I love the colors inside and all the artwork hanging on the walls. I can never ask for better music playing. The moment you walk in, everyone greets you. They are so nice!
