Taylor Made Fades

This place is terrible. You walk in and nobody addresses you for 45 minutes. The barbers are on their phones while the customers are in the chair waiting for them to finish the haircut. Incredibly unprofessional. I will not be going back.

Great atmosphere. Barbers are great at what they do. Sammy is real cool. Fades, sports and street fighter 2. Come on! Amazing!!! Plenty of parking. Great location. Leather couches to sit in. Come early, place gets packed on the weekends.

the owner recently added an archade machine … it costs $ 0.50 cents to play … SAMI needs to bring the price down to $ 0.25. BRING IT DOWN SAMI !!

Some of the worst customer service I’ve experienced in a while. My story goes like this; I walk in, get instant stares. Fifteen minutes after listening to their APPARENT sponsor WGCI blast throughout the barber shop, every single barber was sitting down doing nothing. After twenty minutes I finally get the courage to yell over the 2 Chains song that was playing and asked, «is anyone available to line me up?!!» The guy smiles and goes, «Of course» as if It was obvious and I was the idiot. After my $ 15 lining I made up my mind that I wouldn’t return. None of the barbers ever explained to me that this was by appointment primarily. They just simply gave no f**ks. It was a waste of time and way over priced. The people rating this place above three stars have to either be employees or regulars. Point blank.

Would have been nice to know before hand that u need an appointment. I paid for parking outside and waited for an hour. Ppl just walked in and I was skipped 2 times. No one said anything. If you don’t know them personally they treat you like you are invisible. I asked what was up and they told me to come back in 45 minutes. Not good business. If you don’t know them personally expect to be skipped like crazy.

This place is legit. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. TVs and music are a great distraction. Décor is comfortable and pays homage to Chicago, Chicago Sports, and Marilyn Monroe of course (nice!).
I am new to town and only have only been there a couple of times. I left happy a happy man both time and will definitely be back. Big Jon is meticulous in his craft and did me up right.

Average fades but «ambience» is pretty good, for guys anyway. ESPN on and hip-​hop music playing. Was $ 15 for fade and trimmed my goatee.

True to their name they do an excellent fade here. I used to go to Rockstar Fades on Taylor/​Racine but they got shut down so I heard about Taylor Made from a friend. However, I’ll be looking again because making an appointment here is useless.
Me: Can I come in at 6:15?
Guy on phone: Yeah, all right.
[he hangs up]
Me: Well, I’m pretty sure he didn’t ask for my name …
So, I show up at 6:10 and now it’s 6:30… still waiting. If I hadn’t had dinner plans I would have just gone somewhere else. This is the second time this happened, so it’s not a fluke.
That’s without complaining about the loud TV /​simultaneous radio, patrons drinking, etc.

Exactly what Taylor St. needed… An all around GOOD BARBERSHOP! All the barbers there are very professional yet not stuck up. Inside of the shop is very inviting with the flat screen tv’s and music playing in the background… Prices are also very affordable, and I GUARANTEE you’ll be happy with your end result! I’ve taken my son there several times and I’ve NEVER been disappointed.

This place is fantastic:
— Design — the shop itself is very nice, with flat screen tv’s on the wall and music playing in the background. The mural of Michael Jordan on the wall is a welcoming site for all Bulls fans.
— Chairs — the barber chairs are upholstered leather, which allow you to relax during your haircut
— Barbers — my barber was Jason, who was really nice and did a great job with my hair
— Affordability — no more expensive than any other barbershop

Not bad. Taylor Street now has new girls in town and these girls can do the hair and other cosmetics.
Impressive, this place is really updated with its Flat screen TV and the beautiful depiction of Michael Jordan on the wall. Males and Females are really going to love the way this place caters to really upgraded hair styles, fades, hot shaves, Tapers, Braids and even Mohawks and graphics are done.
Its not pretentious at all and the young ladies who greeted me were really innovative with their styles. I have to admit, Taylor Street needed this new do up and they are going to change it up in here. So if you want to enjoy a nice hair cut and style but more than just that, get pampered and understand that this place is going to be a staple here on Taylor Street, and the specials that they are offering are really going to turn up the volume. Let them know you saw it here on Unilocal.
The barbers name is Sam, and the ladies are Megan and Micha. Check them out and specials are going to be done from time to time.
