Taqueria El Gallo

This place is no longer. It is now the new spot for Nathan’s Grill. It claims itself as an American restaurant, but really there is no difference from Taqueria El Gallo.

Perfect place for carryout and it’s right around the corner from me. It’s BYOB, but I haven’t had time to dine in yet. I just had their huevo torta and it hit the spot. The salsas are great too.
FYI, $ 10 minimum on credit cards.

This is some muy tasty stuff! All burritos, which are all sized perfectly, include cilantro and onion. Cilantro rocks! Simple, authentic and comfortable Mexican food. Enjoy!

I’ve been to this place multiple times and I still just think it’s ok. the tortas are pretty good but the tacos are just ok. overall, it’s a good deal because it’s pretty cheap and the people are friendly.

Good place. As stated before no pricing on the menu and nothing specific stands out in terms of the food. However, it’s convenient, cheap, dependable, clean and close to my house. Given that I have never gotten sick eating here, that equals three stars in my book.

I have a huge problem with places that don’t post prices on their menus, and this place is one of them. However, the fact that they have a quarter machine that dispenses little plastic saint figurines makes up for that and saves Taqueria el Gallo from a two star rating.
If I have the time, there are other local taquerias I’d rather go to, but this one is the closest to me.
I’ve never dined in, although there is a rather large dining area that is always crowded at lunch time.
Unless you call your order in ahead, expect to wait at least 15 minutes for your take out order. And if you really want a specific ingredient in your food, I would stress it and then stress it again, because they seem to leave out standard items (avocado in a veggie burrito?).
They’ve got relatively tasty, filling food but it doesn’t go much beyond that.
