Tamikca is the
PERIOD. She always takes her time, styling and pampering my natural tresses to perfection. My hair is the longest and STRONGEST its ever been under her tender love and care. It’s so difficult to find a great stylist that knows natural hair inside and out (minimal heat, using tons of moisturizing products and patience). I finally found this in Tamikca.
Btw, Tamikca also gave me a fabulous multi dimensional color (mix of deep brown, caramel and warm blonde highlights) that I receive complements on all the time!

I’m giving you one star because I’ve called 3 times since ⁴⁄₃₀ and I haven’t received a call back. And I’m supposed to call you for a consultation before I make an appointment for minitwists or senegalese twists. It’s really too bad because you’re one of the few black stylists in the area and you could do really well. Not sure how else I can get a hold of you. I guess you don’t want my money?

I was honestly too nervous to write a review for Tamikca before because I didn’t want her to get so incredibly busy that I would not be able to get in to see her again! However, I am in a generous mood and it is only fair that I give her the long overdue praise that she deserves. I went to Tamicka because I was interested in transitioning from a relaxer to my natural hair without chopping it all off and starting over. All I can say is that it is beyond wonderful to have a stylist who knows so much about how to care for African-​American hair. She patiently guided me through the «transition» process and helped me to keep my hair healthy throughout. When I first came to Tamicka my hair was chin length, dry and damaged. I now have a shiny, healthy, chemical-​free hair that is inches past my shoulder – all this was accomplished with Tamikca’s guidance and know-​how. Also, GONE are the days when I spend hours in the salon because they’re busy and overbooked. With Tamikca, your time is YOURS from start to finish. I love the fact that I have NEVER waited for her to get started with me in the years I have been working with her. She’s really the best in the business and I highly recommend her for anyone who wants a stylist who cares about your hair as much, if not more, than you.

What can I say about Tamikca??? She is not only a very talented stylist but her personality literally comes to life as soon as she laughs. She has been my stylist through a few hair phases and all of them have been without a relaxer.
I love that there is a stylist that can do my hair and it is not too far from home. I would recommend her to any man or woman with any texture of hair. She will work with you honestly and make you look and feel fabulous.

What can I say but she’s THE BEST. Natural hair is her specialty but she is very diverse and has experience styling many hair types and styles. I’ve been going to Tamikca for around 2 years and my hair has never been healthier. I’ve been trying to get back the length I had when I was young (middle back) and this is the closest I’ve been in years. She gives real and excellent advice, even if it could impact her $$. She’s awesome!

She’s the most fun ever, for one. Also, she wasn’t afraid to tackle my natural hair, and gave me the best haircut I’ve ever had… While it was wet *gasp*. The style was AWESOME. It took a while, with the hair cut, and then having to twist and roll it (I got a roller set), then having to sit under the dryer. It was, in total, a 6 hour process. But it was WELL worth it. A bit pricey, so I won’t be able to go a often as I might like, but she gave me so many tips that I don’t feel obligated to go all the time (though I will be seeing her at least every 3 – 4 months, I’m not allowing anyone else to cut my hair, ever). Since I’ve met her I’ve been trying to get everyone to make an appointment, that’s how fantastic she was. Can’t wait to get back!
