This is the spot to go if you need to buy cold beer, a few necessities to make homemade tacos, like onion, cilantro, tortillas, beans and cheese, grab a cold bottle of Mexican Coke, and you need to pay for it with a card. The aforementioned items spell a good night for me, and it’s convenient to grab beer and booze at the same spot I’m getting a few food items, instead of making two stops or going to Jewel. The ladies at the checkout counter are nice, too,

Casa Roman is one of about a dozen independent grocery stores in Rogers Park. It has a great, inexpensive meat selection where butchers cut the meat to specification. Pre-cooked carnitas and chicken are also available. Cheese and other staples seem to be slightly cheaper than at the other stores nearby. Shoppers can leave their blinkers on for ten minutes while shopping at the loading zone in front. The store also carries liquor.
