I’ve worked with and helped train a lot of surgeons, some better, some not so much. Dr. Shifrin is «the real thing». She has a great talent in reshaping eyelids — I often marvel at her ability to overcome tough surgical problems (reoperations, pre-​existing asymmetries, trauma deficits, etc.). While I’m impressed mostly by how she handles tougher cases, she’s probably at her best with the bread-​and-​butter oculoplastic aesthetic issues, making people look better. Her bedside manner is just what you’d want — calm and understanding, knowledgeable and confident. I’m projecting this a little, but I suspect that women will feel particularly comfortable with Dr. Shifrin. She’s very classy, but in an approachable way.
