The cashier was very rude to another customer before me. So I step up to complete my transaction. I used my credit card to purchase dinner at 6:30 pm today. I asked for extra soy sauce after only receiving 2. She told me .10 cent per packet… are you serious? After I just spent $ 20.00 on food. Then I get home and the food is bland and nasty, not tasting authentic anyways.

Ordered on grub hub and after an hour and 15 mins I called to see where my food was and the lady said she had no idea what I was talking about, searched for the order, said there system went down so they never started making kt. I asked if they were still planning on making and delivering it(my card had already been charged.) She said no contact grub hub for a refund. They left with no food on my lunch break. Very poor customer service. And with the quality of food u get what u pay for

The cashier was very rude to an elderly customer. & the orange chicken was greasy and over battered. Rice was more like steamed than fried.

Pretty good lunch deals. Meals are always super fast to receive when ordered. I always get the same meal deal the pepper steak w/shrimp fried rice. It comes with water or pop and an egg roll. Portions are plentiful. The food is scorching hot when they give it to you. But the beef is definitely mystery meat and not of good quality. Service is ok, they are usually pretty busy in here too. Parking sucks. But a good lunch if in the area only!!!

One of the Best Chinese in the city. The Mongolian Beef Lunch special is one of the best. I love how I’ve been coming here since 2007 and it has stayed exactly the same — good and delicious!

I went there a week ago to order the lunch specials for my kids. The rude girl behind the counter swiped my card 3 times then told me my card was declined and I needed to pay cash. I checked my account through my phone app and it showed that she charged me twice and the 3rd time it was declined. She attempted to swipe my card again and I stopped her & even showed her in my phone app that she charged me twice. Long story short, I went to my local bank to get a printout to show her and because the transaction said pending she still refused to give me my food or my money back. She was very rude, then talked with the other workers in their native language in front of me and refused to do anything about this. After exchanging a few words I walked out and had my Bank cancel all transactions. Never going there again and l also let the major company I work for know what happened so they will never order from there again. They just lost a lot of business.

i come here once in a while and always order the mongolian beef dinner special. it comes with chicken fried rice, egg roll, and egg drop or pop. the portion is big and the price is decent. i must warn you that the food is greasy but yet good! there was a good amount of meat which i like. a lot of other places will cheap out on their meat portions. the fried rice to me is really bland by itself. but with some hot sauce and the beef with it. makes it pretty good. the egg roll is just your normal average egg roll that you get at any chinese resaurant. i like the egg drop soup here. it hits the spot for me after eating this big meal. other things ive tried is the fried chicken wings. it is not bad. the wings are pretty big and juicy.

This is where I normally go for Chinese food. The food here is quite good! They have the best orange chicken I’ve tasted, The jumbo shrimp Egg-Foo Young is Great! The Garlic shrimp is a favorite! The fried rice is hit and miss in this place though. Some days is off the chain. Then some days its makes u hate u ordered it. But I have to have fried rice! the tomato, green pepper steak is also yummy! Try this place out for some yummy food! Fried rice though ure gambling. Good 85% of the time if that helps!

Modest food modest prices. And they deliver too. Last week we ordered a party tray for a party at my friends place and man it was too much food than we expected. Nice place if you want a quick grab and go Chinese fast food that doesn’t have all the riff raff of modern Chinese fusion food… Just plain simple food.

This is my favorite fast food Chinese restaurant in Chicago. I’ve tried other See thru kitchens but none of them compare to this location. The food is always hot & always fresh. My only complain is the ten cents per extra sweet & sour sauce and they only give you two!!! Pettiness !!!

It’s cheap and greasy but really solid Americanized-Chinese food. I confess to being addicted to it. The portions are huge. I usually get the daily box, which is usually enough for 3 – 4 servings for me. I’ve only tried the kung pao chicken, Szechuan chicken, and Empress chicken, but I’ve liked all of them. The Empress chicken was white meat, which is a plus for me. The other two were definitely a little on the greasy side… but again, I’m addicted so that says something about me and greasy food.

awful. bland, greasy, tasteless. The 3 shrimp in my Garlic Combo had flavor, but the beef was gristley and over-tenderized, the chicken just strange. All sauce, no flavor. For something labeled«garlic» I thought it would taste like something. Gooey overly thick corn-starchy sauce. I’ve never enjoyed anything here, and yet I keep giving them another try, like every 6 months. I just get tired of Subway, and keep hoping I’ll find one dish here that might please me. I give up.

Good, fast Chinese food. We’ve carried out here before, and dined in on Tuesday night. Menu board with pictures which is helpful for my kids. Walk up counter service. It’s a small place with a few booths and tables. Food is better than decent, not mind-blowing or gourmet by any means but still really good tasting and made fresh. Portions are generous, we always have leftovers(even when we order combo meals). You can ask for food to be cooked sans MSG except for the eggrolls which are premade then fried fresh. Good combo meals at a reasonable price. I like the shrimp dishes here… large shrimp and good servings of them. The shrimp with lobster sauce(brown sauce) was good with the black beans. First time having the orange chicken this visit, and while it was good, it tasted more like sweet & sour chicken. My daughter, whose fave is orange chicken, wasn’t havin it. We made her eat it anyway. Service is quick, but almost pushy. They were busy taking orders at the counter while simultaneously taking them over the phone and it was more a ‘What do you want’ than a ‘Can I take your order’ or What can(may) I get for you?’ They were pushing out orders like nobody’s business. Once your food is ready they place it on the counter and call your #, and they were irritated when they had to call your # more than a couple times… it was taking up counter space. Quite entertaining. In a strip mall with parking lot, though we usually have to park near the Jewel lot since it can get crowded on this side of the strip. Love the photo of the owner with President Obama(8×10 hanging right by the register). I wanted to ask if he actually ate there, or if the owner just met him? Either way, it’s still cool.

This place used to be great. They closed down for a while. When they reopened, well, it just wasn’t the same anymore. Goodbye, See Thru!

For a fast quick lunch bite you may want to check this place out. I mean its no fancy gourmet place for sure, but they do slap on the portions. I have the shrimp in lobster sauce and was pretty amazed at how it tasted. On the downside, the parking is a bit cramped, and that’s if you can find parking in the lot. Since they do share parking with so many other establishments, lunch time is not the best time to go, but if you come after one than maybe. Very modest place, with a photo of the owner and President Obama, yes, its very modest. Although they are friendly, it seems that they want to push you out like cattle, which is okay with me, but what will bring you back is the food and the portion sizes. Pretty fresh for what it is and definitely not a fancy spot, but well worth the trip if your in need of Chinese and are near.

I love the fried rice at See Thru Chinese Kitchen — 1 it’s always fresh and 2 the portions are very generous. I usually get the veggie fried rice as I am not much of a meat lover. Sometimes if I am really lazy I’ll get the fried rice after work, take it home and add my own chicken strips. The veggie egg rolls are decent — nothing to write home about. I don’t eat the regular egg rolls as they have shrimp and pork… I love the fried won tons but don’t get them too often because, well it just seems like a bad idea… you know kinda like having a piece of cake with my piece of cake. Their menu is pretty huge — seems to be standard Chinese Take out items, good priced varied lunch menu that comes with rice and egg rolls included… again very generous portions. why 3 stars? well, the place is pretty small, parking is pretty bad, definitely not a «date» type place, and in the winter if you do decide to eat in for lunch, you will freeze your protruding parts off… AND your lunch will get cold. I will say this much though, if I lived within their delivery boundaries, I would probably order at least twice a month!(cause that’s when I get paid)

Best chinese delivery I’ve had. I was ordering from china town and my roommate told me that this place was much better. He was right. Great quality on the meats, sauces, and egg rolls. They don’t over-fry the egg rolls! This is a huge plus in my book. The only reason I gave See Thru a 4⁄5 is because the food shows up at my apartment warm, not hot. They package in plastic containers, which is nice, but it doesn’t hold the heat as well as the foil containers. Chinatown is way farther from me(west side), but when I was ordering from there it showed up hotter than from see thru. Still worth it though by all means.

This place offers solid Chinese food, at an extremely low price. I used to pop in here when I worked in this area. The lunch specials were especially a great bargain! Be aware that the parking lot gets SUPER full around lunch time… so plan on looking for a spot! I always called my order in ahead, as the wait time when you just show up for carry out is insane! Also, there isn’t a lot of space to sit down and eat, so carry out/delivery may be a smarter option if you’re in a rush.
