The staff was unfriendly and uninviting. I own a Rolex and several other high end timepieces. We don’t have a Rolex boutique in DFW and I wanted to see if the store offered a different selection than the AD/s in Dallas and Fort Worth. However, when I arrived, the doorman/security guard immediately put me on trial. I will not stop wearing or purchasing Rolex, however, I will never visit the Chicago store again.

Despite the intimidation one is faced with upon entering a store like Rolex, you have to grasp the complexity of movement involved in the making to selling one of the few items in life that retain their value. I paid 7K for a 10K used timepiece. Yeah sure 7K is a stretch but in the end I can turn it just like that for what I paid. True it’s not a stock and the risk of loss is bout neck to neck of that of a Rolex but that’s why we have insurance. So before you pass judgement on a staff liable for anyone whom may be a moonlighting trespasser be warned they are there to serve you ultimately — even it it means taking your hat off as I was asked. I came to the manufacturer of my timepiece to resolve an issue with the clasp which was done on the spot by none other than a woman of elegance at no charge.

My wife and I went in to try on some watches for future purchases around the holidays. The service was excellent! Mary let us try on multiple watches and answered all of our questions. We made it clear that we would not be purchasing until later this year; however, the quality of service did not change.

I’m going to guess that most people in the market for a rolex aren’t checking reviews on Unilocal first. That said, I’m reviewing anyway. I was searching for a stainless steel daytona with white dial and called ahead to see if they had one. This model is supposedly notoriously hard to find so I was pretty psyched when they said yes. I talked to Michael and told him I’d be in at noon. He was very friendly and knowledgable. The service was excellent, though I did ask if they had a black dial and he dissuaded me from looking. I later went back and got it resized because it was a little too tight the first time. Again, they remembered me and were very friendly and helpful.

The watches are the same everywhere but it’s the customer service that makes or breaks a showroom like this. I went in to look for a specific watch, and Michael assisted me. He was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable, answered all my questions. Usually, when I go to bigger showrooms even around Chicago, the salespeople are indifferent and just want you to buy a watch, they couldn’t care less if you need more information. In this case, Michael immediately emailed me pictures and gave me his card and even answered questions about maintenance of my previous purchase, etc. I am impressed, I will definitely go back here next time.
