Love this place! I’ve been here 3 times in the last year and service has always been fantastic. The salmon tartar is amazing, wish there was more of it. I love the burger & fries – it may not be very exciting but it’s always delicious. I always splurge on the dessert and get all their mignardises(bite sized desserts). The macaroons has be a little hit/miss, I had a violet one that was kind of hard. I loved the chocolate coconut balls though, and I’m not a general fan of coconut. My friend stated they were much better than he would have expected. The venue can get pretty loud when the place is busy, but we were seated and served very quickly. Will definitely return.

I didn’t get to eat here so will have to update. But love the ambiance and love champagne– great selection at a variety of prices. Skilled bartenders despite being a champagne bar.

Last week I was invited to attend a dinner function at RM Champagne Salon. Its entrance on Green Street just south of Randolph is very lowkey, and though it was dark outside we imagine that the outdoor patio space would feel like an oasis during the warmer months. The lovely interior is a combination of an imposing hotel lobby(bar area) and a fancy and cozy home(fireplace). Funny — I did not drink any champagne(sacre bleu!) but all the food served during our dinner was absolutely delicious. Sweet potato agnolotti was some of the tastiest pasta I have ever enjoyed. The beef tenderloin was also excellent, and the sides(mushroom with polenta, roasted cauliflower) were almost overshadowing the main course. The little desserts(called«mignardises») included some lemon meringue discs and these incredibly cute and delicious miniature caramel apples the size of a gumball. RM really dished up a remarkable dining experience for us.

I came here on a Friday for a double date night and it was a lot of fun. The atmosphere is dark and romantic though a bit cramped, so I would recommend coming here during the warm summer months to check out their patio. For drinks, I would recommend the Le Drapage if you’re in the mood for a light drink and the Seven Strangers if you like things a little stronger and spicier. My boyfriend and I shared the Grand plats and the pomme frites, which was a light and tasty dinner for the most part. Loved the togarashi seasoning on the pomme frites and the house ranch and the freshness of the lobster, oysters, and shrimp cocktail. I didn’t care for the hamachi crudo because it was a bit too vinegary and the seasoning in the deviled eggs was also a little off. Overall, RM is a great place if you’re looking for a cozy, romantic spot. Would also recommend coming for happy hour on Tuesdays when they have their $ 1 oyster special.

My birthday dinner here a while back was a mixed experience. RM Champagne has a great look and ambiance, especially the delightful patio. The food was hit or miss, some dishes were great and some were average. Nothing was terrible. But the service was frustrating, slow, and confused. The server seemed overwhelmed and snippy … Worst of all she put our macarons down at the table next to us and some time later, when both tables pointed out her mistake(at first it was unclear if they were complimentary for that table), she simply lifted the plate up and away from them and put it down in front of us because they had not yet eaten the macrons. As the French would way, quelle horreur. How rude to the other patrons and possibly some sort of health violation. If I didn’t think she would just bring the same macarons back, I would have asked for new ones. Will probably go back for drinks only.

I really wanted to like this place as it’s both cozy and feel luxurious without the attitude, but the music was terrible and too loud.

Beautiful décor as you walk in. It can be a little difficult to find especially in winter when I went. You have to walk down a walkway and around the corner is the entrance. It was a perfect Girls night! Our table wasn’t ready so we waited and sat at the bar. The bartender was great and suggested drinks that he thought we would like and we all did! We went on a Tuesday night in November and it was very busy and packed. We started out with oysters they have a deal on Tuesdays when oysters are a $ 1 each. For thr main course we ordered a couple of things and shared: Fromage and champignon flatbreads, fries, Foi Gras torchon(duck liver), and a Salmon dish. The Salmon and fries with seasoning were the best. The foi Gras torchon I didn’t care for much and the flatbreads had a lot of salt. For desert we had macaroons which was the best food item of the night. All in all I think this is a great place for drinks and champagne! The décor is wonderful and service was great. However the food was ok. Not the best food I’ve had especially for the expensive price. 4 stars for drinks, appetizers, dessert, décor and atmosphere. Great for a girls night out and 1st stop of the night.

Can we say new favorite?! I really wish Unilocal offered half stars, because believe RM is a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars. This is the perfect location for an outing with your girlfriends or with that special someone. The ombionce is very intimate and delicate. I visited RM for the first time on a Saturday around 5pm. The customer service was OUTSTANDING from the moment I walked in the door all the way until the moment I left. The host was very polite and offered to check my coat immediately. Once seated I had a full glass of water to enjoy as I browsed the menu. Well, Maybe I should say endless glass of water. This establishment has mastered the task of keeping your glass full and your table clear. I don’t believe there was ever a time«Where is the waiter?» ever came to mind. The menu isn’t large but it is full of flavorful dishes. I ordered the Burger, and my best friend ordered the Amish Chicken(which was not on the online menu) and a side of Mac and Cheese. The burger and fries portion was smaller than expected but it completed filled me up, and was very tasty. The star of the show for me was the Mac and Cheese. The pasta was divine. I can’t wait to go back for this dish alone. I did not try the Champagne, so I’ll be back to RM very soon to enjoy a glass and bowl of that cheesy goodness.

I’m on a quest to try new places, so when I saw a Gilt City deal for RM Champagne Salon, I snatched it up. The restaurant is a little difficult to find. You have to follow an alley, and the entrance is in the back. There’s also a patio area in the back, which looks like it would be a fun spot when it gets warm again. I really liked the atmosphere. It’s small and cozy, with lots of candles and a fireplace. It’s a great spot for a date, or a night out with a group of girls. The menu is fairly small, but the food was pretty solid. I opted for the trout and my hubs opted for the steak frites. Both were good, but not great. My favorite part of the meal was dessert, which was a sampler platter of 6 different mini desserts. The cake bites and the cream puff were the best. They also have $ 1 oysters on Tuesday, which is cool if you’re into oysters. I probably wouldn’t go back for dinner without the Gilt City deal — it’s pretty pricey for what you get. But I’d be down to come back in the summer to enjoy dessert and drinks on the patio. They had a bunch of unique craft cocktails on the menu that sounded delish.

I came here for the desserts. Awesome service, pretty & dainty desserts. Dessert wines has a good selection for everyone with various degrees of sweetness. It’s kind of confusing location, we walked into next door’s before we found the entrance. Also, the music is VERY loud here, don’t expect to carry any lengthy conversations.

Service: 4.5 Carlos was outstanding. Friendly, interesting, has an impeccable sense of timing, and made us feel very welcome. Ambience: 4.5 Ask to sit by the walls, there are plush seats with an extensive assortment of cushions, to make you feel like you’re in a pillow paradise. Food: 4.5: the Kuri squash(third side on the winter menu, I think it was a seasonal special) was fantastic, with complex flavors and also good umami balance created from the generous amount of pork in it. 4: Macaroni gratin was good, especially the caramelized onion and gruyère. Not a must try like the squash, nonetheless rich and fills you up partially. 4 I liked my Croque Madame — a dressed-up, good to show off ham and cheese. It is beautifully presented, with a fried egg on top. Quite heavy, the mornay sauce gives it an interesting twist. This is no ordinary sandwich. 3.5 Steak frites: sure they were good, but nothing too special. The fries were quite forgettable. Mignadises!(desserts) Chartreuse cream puff: really, delicious. Could not taste much chartreuse though. Pistachio financier: the tiniest of the lot Bourbon oreo-like dessert: I wish I remember what it was called, it was my favorite and the most unique.

We came here after getting a Gilt deal. The entrance is a bit hard to find — you follow the alley/walkway to the entrance in the back. While we are well past patio days, the patio looks like a nice option come summer which seems a long time from now. The food was solid. We happened to be in on a Tuesday which is ½ off Oysters! The Oysters were awesome! We both had the steak frites for the entrée. It was tasty and cooked perfectly. I would definitely get it again. They offer a nice selection of champagne in a range of price points. Service was good. Carlos was friendly, knowledgeable and was helpful in offering recommendations. It did take a very long time to get our entrees and they brought out the wrong dish at first. They immediately sent us a complimentary glass of champagne while we waited which was a nice touch. I would definitely go back and certainly would want to check out that patio.

Good option for drinking and seafood-focused finger-foods. The food menu is short, it seems like a good post-dinner spot. Try not to sit in the outdoor tables, our group had a little trouble moving around furniture and aligning plates for our liking.

Wow we came back here a second time and our view point really changed in this joint. We came here and ordered muscles for the appetizer and they were amazing. Nothing like it ever ate before. My fiancé will be coming back for those for sure since she lives here. Also there american burger and steak are great choices. We also had there macaroni and cheese side dish which has bacon added in there to for that unique flavor. For dessert we had the chocolate tart cake and macaroons. the chocolate tart cake is very rich in flavor. But the macaroons are pretty good but very different. The strawberry one is by far the best one. But the other once are small and not as soft. But over all this place is a great place to take your date. Lights are dimmed and music it playing to give you your privacy.

Came here on a weeknight around 6:30 pm with reservations for 4. We got lucky with weather on a September evening as the sun was still out and the temperatures were cooling steadily so we got outside seating. Tucked away in the cobblestone alley as they advertise, this is a perfect place to come right after work for a fine glass of champagne or rose, and just settle done with some delicious bite. It also looks like a great place to have a quieter evening inside with a romantic, yet smart looking dining room. We shared the lobster devilved eggs, the Champignon flatbread, a burger, and salmon tartare. We ended the evening with macaroons to share. Our waitress was very friendly, she brought out a small dessert on the house, was smiling the entire time, and we felt relaxed. If you are in the West Loop area and are looking for restaurants to go to, I highly recommend RM Champagne. The champagne price is expensive that’s why I settled in for the Rose but it’s a must visit. Will be returning!

Beautiful date night spot. I went a few weeks ago with my fiancé on a Tuesday, which happened to be $ 1 oyster night(I think they’re usually $ 3?, so great deal). Romantically lit, decorated like an upscale home(fireplace, rugs on the floor, mirrors, books, etc), it gave off a cozy vibe. We didn’t make reservations, but we’re not that cool and eat on the early side so were able to just snag an open hi-top table near the bar. After 6 tasty fresh oysters, we also split the steamed mussels and the macaroni gratin. The mussels were cooked nicely, and I’m all over anything with grilled bread to sop up liquid amazingness left at the bottom of the bowl. The macaroni gratin was like a gnocchi, little pillows of creamy pasta cheesiness. No leftovers at our table! I also tried Le Drapage, a cocktail with vodka(or gin, if you prefer), mint, blueberry, and prosecco. We decided to save some fun for next time, because we definitely want to come back, and have dessert and a cheese plate another day. I can’t wait to try it! Hopefully we can snag a spot on the outdoor patio before it gets too cold, the ambiance out there is gorgeous!

I just found this place and now I’m obsessed with it! The entryway is quite confusing, you have to walk back down this long alleyway past High Five Ramen and Green Street Smoked Meats. It opens up into this amazing lit-up outdoor patio which leads up to the host stand. The ambience is romantic and almost fairy tale-like. It’s a really unique set up and I haven’t seen anything quite like it in Chicago. Our server was great! She was attentive and gave us excellent recommendations on food and wine/champagne. She really helped customize our meal to exactly what we were looking for. Food: The Steamed Mussels are delicious and served with a perfect sauce that you will want to clean out of the bowl. They we cooked perfectly. The Croque Madame was delicious too! It’s basically a fancy ham sandwich with a fried egg on top, but it tastes like no ham sandwich you’ve ever experienced before! Even the side salad it comes with is splendid. We also ordered the Salmon Tartare and the Champignon Flatbread, which were both good, just not as noteworthy as the other food we ordered. Drinks: They have a really great selection of champagne and other sparkling wines, which is kinda intimidating if you’re not too wine savvy, but our server gave us some great, affordable bottle options. You can definitely order a good bottle and not spend a fortune, which is nice. As for their cocktails, I am all about the Solstice. They didn’t actually have it when I was there but the bartender was able to improvise and make me something similar, super SPICY and delicious! I want to come back every night this summer to enjoy the summer patio while it lasts! I would definitely recommend!

When I spotted a gilt city deal for this place I’ve been wanting to try for so long, u know I jumped on it! What a beautiful place! They have lots of outdoor seating, perfect for beautiful summer nights although I opted to stay indoors bc it had been a long hot day for hubs and I lol. The indoor ambiance is beautiful– with candles and chandeliers all around, but not stuffy at all! The entrees we tried were the burger and the steak. Both were delicious! The fries that came with both entrees were kinda to die for… And we also started w the macaroni gratin w the caramelized onions and Gruyère– YUM! For dessert we got to pick 6 selections from their ‘mignardises’ dessert menu– the cake bites were phenomenal and our awesome server threw in an extra one so we could both have our own! The lemon meringue w violet sugar was also great and so were the sesame macarons! Awesome place– can’t wait to come back!

I had been wanting to try RM for quite some time now, and I was not disappointed. My husband and I came for a late dinner on Saturday night, and we had a really great experience. The restaurant opened up to pretty big patio, where we waited for a while until we were seated. The inside was really cute and romantic. The staff was really friendly from the beginning and our waitress, Janine, was great. We started off with two appetizers(because we couldn’t choose, and they both sounded really good), the foie gras torchon & the steamed mussels. Both were so flavorful — they were amazing(I’m still thinking about them)! I decided to go with the Amish chicken for my entrée, and my husband got the steak frites. The chicken was cooked perfectly! My husband said that the steak was pretty good as well. At the end of the night we got four complementary macaroons. We were so stuffed, but how could we say no to them. I loved every single one of them. They were like little pieces of heaven, just the right amount of sweet. Perfect ending to a perfect night. I will definitely be returning to RM!

Sitting here for drinks I actually fell in love with my BF all over again. That’s how romantic this place is! I’m pretty sure it just made him fall asleep though. That’s typical. Anyways, we had a few after dinner cocktails here on a double date. Everything that’s said about the décor is 100% true! It’s beautiful! I was really worried we were under dressed but it seemed to work out. The staff was very friendly and even though it was packed brought drinks out at a good pace. I can’t wait to go back and eat a complete meal here. I’ll update the review once I try some of the food that looked amazing.

*********************** 792 ************************* RM Champagne Salon is classy, charming, and intimate. It’s totally a good date spot with your lover or with your girls night out. Good service, decent food, lovely dessert, think of Pops Champagne but classier, fancier, and for real wine lovers! — The name says it all, you want bubbly, you come to the right place. — Mignadises — You have sweet tooth, it’s the candy shop for you with small bites desserts, so many choices for you to choose from. You can order 1, 2 dozens at time, think of the high tea treats, it likes that! — Assiettes — Small tasting portions — Hamachi sashimi; miso-cured salmon; rock shrimp ceviche; Foie Gras Chaud seared foie gras, michigan peaches, pain perdu; Oeufs Farcis Au Homard lobster deviled eggs; you they have it for your savory tooth like myself. Beside bubbles, they offer cocktails, beer, spirits, and more. Less than 20 sparkling and wines by the glass, but amazing selection for white wines and sparkling by the bottle. Especially the white Burgundy selection: Chablis, Macon-Chanay, Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet; Loire Valleyl Alsace, you name it they have it. They also offer some red wines, especially the old world. Great spot, if you are truly wine lovers, bring your AMEX or cash is even better!
