Didn’t have a plan to have dinner or to stop for the drink, just happened that we were nearby. Good things happen when you expect the least. Very good service, friendly staff and it was a really pleasant to seat outside. Choice of a good and delicious food was complemented with Leffe Blonde beer. We enjoyed in Brussels Sprout salad and Turkey burger. Specially good was dessert special Strawberry Rhubarb crisp.

Gorgeous sunny day so we sat outside. Service still okay. However, portions of everything are noticeably smaller since last summer. Kind of a bait & switcheroo. They get you in and when you come back, it’s a disappointment. Once again we ordered(and shared) the crab toast appetizer. Less of everything — less bread, avocado and crab. Ordered and shared the Wrightwood salad(much smaller). A manager walked by us a couple of times — never asked us how we were enjoying but the table behind us of 3 guys he checked with. Not sure why he was intimidated by 2 women? On our next beautiful lunch hour we will be trying Le Pain Quotidien next door. Minus one star from the last visit. Let me know if you go back to the way things were a year ago. Otherwise … just okay.

Over priced. Food is okay, nothing stellar. If you walk away from Michigan Ave there are a lot better places. You will enjoy Heaven on Seven, Cochon Volant, Italian Village, Rosebud, or some of the fast casual places on Wabash. If you have to be across from the park, the CAA rooftop or The Gage are better choices for the money. I ate here yesterday and it was nice to eat al fresco across from the park. But, personally I would rather have great food and a decent atmosphere rather than a nice atmosphere and meh food.

My favorite is the All American and the Turkey Burger. The last time I went Michael was my server and he is awesome. Also the garden mashed potatoes are great. Please keep up the excellent work and I will be sure to visit more often.

Very classy, romantic, and upscale restaurant. Service was great, the food was ok for what you pay, but their dessert was amazing! We came here during dinner and wasn’t too impressed with their menu and the selection they had. Honestly, didn’t care too much about it. It is conveniently located by the Giant Bean though if you’re around that area.

We went for lunch to celebrate my daughter graduating from Columbia College Chicago. They were able to take reservations for a party of eight which was important to me. The Good: Crab cakes are awesome though they serve them with fries. I think they would have come up with a better side or serve without a side which is how I normally find them. They were the size of hockey pucks which was great. Seems like a lot of places serve them at the size of a White Castle burger. Burgers were excellent though the lettuce was shredded instead of leaf. They will cook them to order which is a sign that they know what they are doing. Service was very attentive and timely. The best thing was that we were not rushed. Ashley understood that it was a special event and she let us enjoy our time. She was great and interacted with all of us. The Bad: Grilled artichoke was tough though I might not know how to eat it. It was the first time for me and it was not worth it. All in all, a great place to go.

While walking along Michigan Ave, I noticed a little spot named Remington’s. The outdoor patio seating and people watching made his choice of restaurant a win-win. I ordered the Turkey burger after my server Brice said it was to die for(I wasn’t disappointed). A well seasoned handmade turkey burger atop a bed of soy ginger coleslaw and jalapeño Chipotle mayo piled high on a brioche bun more than satisfied my taste buds and left me completely satisfied. If the burger alone wasn’t enough, I had the side of shoe string fries. I would highly recommend to any traveler or native

A wonderful, hip steakhouse smacked right on Michigan Ave! I came here for dinner with a mentor of mine I had not seen in nearly ten years. We made a reservation for two on a Monday night, which I highly recommend as the restaurant quickly filled up soon after. Remington is a modern steakhouse with plenty of meats and seafood options to choose from. Between the two of us, we shared a dozen oysters of East v. West(with the Kumamotos being my favorite) and got a prime rib($ 35) for ourselves. I definitely like to go on the rarer side of things when it comes to my steak. I also ordered a side of asparagus to compliment my meat. The verdict? Prime rib was definitely on point! My meat could have been rarer, but the smoked crust was delicious and I ate every piece of my meat. The two dipping sauces were phenomenal, and the grilled asparagus with lemon made a perfect compliment. By the end of our meal, we were both completely stuffed. Prices can be very really steep here, but if you opt for a sandwich or salad, you will find it to be much more reasonable. With very friendly service and a cool atmosphere, I am definitely satisfied with my meal, and happy I got a chance to play catch up. Will I frequent as often? Probably not given the cries your wallet will make. However, this once-in-a-while meal was surely worth the experience.

Probably one of the best service I received in a while. As soon as I entered the restaurant we were greeted right away and was seated instantly. Upon waiting for the arrival of our server we were greeted again by the manager. When our server arrived he explained the entire menu thoroughly. The food came out within a decent time. The crab cakes were delicious(as everyone stated in previous reviews) and my boyfriend filet mignon was cook to perfection. The server constantly came to checked up on us to see if we needed anything; he was so sweet. After we finished our meals, the manager came again to see if we wanted to try their new Belgium waffle(kinda weird for a dessert) but we were sold when he mention that there were miniature crystals inside lol! And so, we ordered the Belgium waffle it was absolutely phenomenal! Therefore, to sum up our experience it was absolutely amazing. We will be back, but next time to dine in the amazing wine room.

My best friend planned a surprise bday party(party of 16) here at this restaurant for me. She knows I wanted to try new restaurants, and this is one of the restaurants I wanted to try. Service is good and fast. I also love the environment and the vibe of this restaurant. Perfect for dates. Prime rib($ 35) — I ordered a prime rib, which met my satisfaction. how they cook it and their sauce is good. Baby back ribs(~$ 27) — my husband loved his ribs. Very juicy and tender. Mac and cheese(~$ 12) — my husband was sooooo amazed by this dish. He almost ordered another one but he was so full from the ribs already. French 75($ 12) — my husband ordered this drink for me. it’s good and strong too. damn, the bartender is goooood! I know it’s very pricey, but if you want to splurge and have a nice, good-quality food, this is the place for you. if you have big group, call for reservation first. expect to pay big tip too! I think it’s worth it, and I enjoyed my dinner there. my friends and I had no problem there. =)

Very unimpressed with the steak here. I went here for my first time and had real steakhouse expectations, but they definitely fell short. I ordered a medium rare petite filet and it definitely came out well done — really, «steakhouse»?, really?. I was hungry so I didn’t bother requesting for a new filet. Also, our server didn’t know many of the answers to our simple questions. Kinda weird, and his shift ended before we left, so I think he just wanted to get out of there ASAP. We had a new waiter by the time we checked out. Not everything received a thumbs down though. I would definitely come back for the spaetzle mac and cheese which includes bacon, fontina cheese and garlic bread crumble — can I get a piece of gum while I take a brisk walk please!!! Oh, and the oysters were not bad either.

My best friend from college and I came to Remington’s to grab a cocktail before our 7pm dinner at the Gage near by. First of all, the place is very appealing to the eye with a lounge area when you first walk in, wall of wine, and a large bar in the middle with big TVs. The place had a decent crowd and we both ordered a glass of wine. The two waiters behind the bar were pretty friendly and I did get a chance to glance over their food menu which looked pretty solid. Remington’s is an awesome place to grab drinks or even dinner and I would definitely consider coming back here again if I am dining in the loop.

Came here for lunch on a cold Monday. Seated and greeted right away. Food was not too big or too small and flavor was great. Can’t remember terribly what I are bc it was back on Feb 19th but the service was excellent. Would definitely go back.

Back in town and had to take the family over to Remington’s for dinner. The last time I visited in October I was very impressed with both the cocktail selection and the quality of the menu, I had discovered Remington’s as I strolled along Michigan Ave. Since we were back in town, we made specific plans to return and try more of their great offerings. Food: We ordered the Crab Louis Salad, the Miso Grouper special, and for me the Prime Rib. Everything was superb, the grouper was tender and seasoned perfectly. The Prime Rib was just fantastic. Seasoned with a salt and pepper crust, you really didn’t need the horse radish or au jus sauce at all. it was so flavorful I finished most of it without dipping. If you do dip, go with the au jus in my opinion. that way you get the full beefy flavor of the dish. They have a great selection of cocktails and wine as well. I enjoyed a nice Duckhorn red blend that went perfectly with the beef. To finish off, we shared a wonderful Crème Brulee which ended the meal perfectly! Service: Our server Alexandra was wonderful. Always checking on us, making great recommendations, and very personable. Our table was also visited by several other restaurant staff to make sure everything was meeting our expectations. Atmosphere: Trendy, hip, great space. One of these days if I’m back in Chicago and need a place to celebrate a special occasion, I’d love to book that private room that sits between their wine collection! Value: On the pricier side but worth the quality of the ingredients and skill of putting the dishes together. Then again it probably would have been a bit cheaper if we didn’t spend a bunch on the bar tab. but hey, what a great meal without a great drink(or three)! Overall: Love Remington’s and would recommend in a second to anyone looking for a great meal in the area.

Very nice place! Went here on a Sunday night so it was nice and quiet. Rather large place with a great bar in the center of the room. I had a delicious gourmet burger and I loved it! I didn’t have anything from the wine list but my mom ordered a Malbec and it was SO good! Would definitely go here again!

Came here bc of Unilocal reviews,$ sign(cheaper restaurant compared to others in area), and convenience of the place in relation to Millennium Park. While I really enjoyed the friendliness of the staff and the décor of the restaurant, I felt the food was subpar. I tried the spaetzle mac&cheese(meh.), bacon brussel sprouts(the greasy, not-that-great appetizer special of the night), and the ahi tuna(meh, too). Based on my experience of the night, this place seems to be extremely overrated but perhaps it’s bc i didnt get to try the monkey bread that everybody raved about.

We were looking for a place close to our hotel to grab lunch and decided to try Remington’s since the menu had a variety of options. As soon as we got there, we were immediately seated in a comfortable booth, and it was really nice to see how festive the restaurant was with all of their classy Christmas décor. Our waiter came to our table before we could take our coats off asking if we were ready to order drinks. I’m not sure why he was so eager to take our orders because the restaurant was only half full since we decided to come at 1pm for a late lunch. There were two salads I couldn’t choose from, so we decided to order the Brussels Sprouts salad as an appetizer, and they brought it out already split in two plates, which was so convenient! The salad was great. I have no complaints! For my entrée, I ordered the Wrightwood salad. I’ve never seen a salad come out with so much chicken in it. Normally, salads barely have any protein in it to fill a person up. Aside from me adoring all of the delicious chicken, the salad itself was great. It was soft, yet crunchy with the almonds. Savory, but a bit sweet with the citrus vinaigrette. I had a few bites of the Chicken Dip Sandwich, and it was really good. The moist sandwich had so much flavor and I recommend it for anyone wanting to go down the sandwich route. The restrooms are clean and the restaurant has a nice bar. But, it seemed that throughout our time at our table, the waiter and even the manager kept coming to our table asking if we were ok and needed anything else. It may have been them being overly nice, but to us it was them wanting to rush us out, and for that reason, we ate and got out of there and went down the street for more drinks so that we could enjoy our time and not have someone constantly at our table checking on us. I’m deducting a star because I just got an email from Opentable stating Remington’s marked us as a no show when we clearly honored our reservation and checked in under my reservation. It seems the service here really needs improving.

I came here on 3 different occasions(team lunch, birthday lunch, and birthday dinner). My experiences went from good to not so great. Mini filet sandwiches — 3 sandwiches total, 6oz filet minon total, meat is cooked medium rare/well, overall the sandwiches were ok. The sauce(contains goat cheese?) and it comes carmelized onions(not too much though) Brussel sprouts — flavored with maple syrup & bacon bits.tasty.would recommend as a side dish if you like Brussel sprouts. Mac n cheese — moderate size, definitely shareable amongst 2 – 4 ppl as a side dish depending on how much you want to eat. All American Burger — My co-worker and I did not enjoy the burger at all. I asked for the burger to be cooked medium rare, but received a burnt burger. In addition to it being burnt, it was extremely salty(like it was dipped in salt).ek. My co-worker mentioned that her burger was also too salty that she couldn’t eat it. Mahi Mahi Fish Sandwich — grilled mahi mahi fish, tasty and recommended as opposed to the All American Burger. Skillet Cookie– served in a skillet with ice cream & pecan sauce — giant cookie. can be shared amongst 2 – 4 people. Customer service — Our waitress, Jessica, was great when I went there for dinner. I don’t think I would choose this place as an option again. Definitely want to check out the other restaurants first.

After a really poor lunch experience earlier that afternoon(see my review on ‘SideDoor’), Remington’s was a breath of fresh air and fine food. One of my criteria for a 5-star review is that I could recommend this to someone coming in from out of town. And guess what visitors? You need to check this place out. PROS –Plenty of options on the menu. As you keep reading, you’ll see that we tried a lot of food and all of it good. We had a hard time picking just a few things — we wanted to try it all! –No. 8 Tuna. I almost got this to eat, but my fiancé got it instead. I took one bit and immediately regretted not getting it. It was prepared perfectly and I felt like each bite melted in my mouth. Oh. Em. Gee. –Filet Mignon. Even though I wish I would have gotten the tuna, I can’t knock what I actually got. The filet mignon was also prepared perfectly(medium rare, just how I like it) and served with truffle béarnaise, shallots, and mushrooms. It didn’t come with a side because frankly, it was delicious by itself. –Crab Toast. Had a little bit of kick, but was very fresh and tasty. –The Cookie. Last, but definitely not least, dessert. Had a hard time choosing yet again, but we landed on the chocolate chip cookie with ice cream. It was gone within 60 seconds. –Service. Our server helped us to decide on our courses for the night when we were on the fence. She was friendly and happy and the reason we got that cookie! –Price. For the quality of food we got, I thought the price was really reasonable. I was expecting to pay way more for the amazing dinner we had. CONS –When I go back next time, I’ll let you know if I find any. BOTTOMLINE –Whether you live in Chicago or are just visiting, this is definite must for dinner. Great for a date night or a large group of people celebrating a special event.

This place definitely deserves the five stars. I came here on a Saturday for brunch and it was not packed at all. I was bracing myself for the brunch madness being right in the city. But I was quite surprised that it was pretty quiet. I had no problem with that. The waiter was super polite and helpful when we were choosing our food because it was our first time there. We got the Spatzle Mac n’ Cheese and the monkey bread. First, the Spatzle Mac n’ cheese is very dense. You can definitely share it two people. It may look small, but very filling and delicious. The cheese is very powerful but gives a good kick. The spatzle which is a small dumpling poached in water. I highly recommend the mac n’ cheese. It may be a bit heavy for a brunch, so if you are really hungry, get this! The monkey bread was a game changer. When you pull the piece of bread off each other, the warm frosting drips down and it heaven in your mouth. You must get this when you go here. If you don’t get anything else, get this. Even with these two dishes, we couldn’t finish it. The service is great and all the staff were so friendly. A great brunch spot in Chicago!
