I’m gonna have to say that this place is the best salvadoran food I’ve eaten here in Chicago. The pupusas were well stuffed. The tamales were delicious. Horchata was authentic. Can’t wait to try everything else. The service was good too.

The best pupusas and Atole de Elote around ! A must to try if you haven’t. The place looks small from the outside but quite spacious and clean. The service is good and the waitresses are very friendly. Prices are very reasonable also. All good reasons to want to come back.

I’ve never had food from El Salvador so I didn’t want to miss this opportunity to try it. I ordered the chorizo pupusa and a chicken tamale. Amazing! The tamale was wrapped in a banana leaf(I think) and was super moist. The chorizo pupusa was delicious! The condiments included a spicy and non-spicy salsa and a type of cabbage salad that had a simple, almost bland dressing on it. I loved the spicy salsa! And, the cabbage salad added a nice crunchy texture to the food. Highly recommend this place!

Don’t expect to get a slim and small pupusa here. They’re quite plump and large. The chorizo, frijole and loroco are the best I’ve tried. I also a ordered the corn atole, super tasty. The price for food items is really inexpensive and the service is nice. I like the family run atmosphere and the lively music. Now if only this place were BYOB… excellent authentic food, I’ll be back :)

The pupusas are so tasty, and the pickled salad and salsa that go with them are the perfect complement.

Dios Mio! This place is amazing! There popusas are very close to the ones you can have in many parts of central america. I am guatemalan and hondurian and approve this place. There popusa loca is a must! Its not the nicest restaurant in the world but they have very good food, my parents love this place. They also have very tropical drinks like maranon, maracuya, nuece, horchata, tamarindo etc…

I see so many signs for ‘Pupusa’ and ‘Pupuseria’ in my old neighborhood. I used to giggle at the name because I had no idea what it was-pupusa-hahaha! The other day our gym had a member appreciation day, and so of course right after my workout I headed over to the table that had probably the most unhealthy food-pizza, fried rice, and then another tray of what looked like arepas-which I have had before(basically thick white corn tortillas with a filling). I looked at the menu in front and saw that these were indeed ‘pupusas’. These were filled with cheese and had a spicy salsa to go along with them-absolutely delicious. I didn’t feel as guilty eating them as I would have if I would have chosen that BBQ chicken pizza. I also noticed the menu(which was in Spanish and English) had an address in my old neighborhood. I think I will be heading back there to try more of these now not-so-mysterious pupusas(still makes me laugh-hahaha! I can’t help it).
