I have been a customer for over 20 years and consider PS Bangkok to be the best, most consistent Thai food in Chicago and most likely anywhere I have been. The Banana Blossom Salad is amazing, both versions of the Pad Thai equally delicious, and the curry’s are all unique and tasty. Love the massaman! Delivery is hot and the area wide and we have used PS for parties many times. Give them a try…

Delicious, authentic Thai spot. Food is definitely worth going in for as it comes out hot and fresh. They may not always carry everything on their menu(usually fish), but they have a pretty big menu. My friends and I ate family style with pad Thai, cashew chicken, Indian curry fried rice, and fried tilapia curry. They give extra rice at no additional charge. Everything was delicious.

There are probably a thousand Thai restaurants in America and this is one of them. Atmosphere is plain, food is good, service is OK and prices are quite reasonable. It’s just a Thai restaurant, that’s all.

HORRIBLE experience with the place. Bad food and bad math. I ordered delivery for Pad See Ewe with shrimp and was charged $ 5 extra dollars for 5 shrimp that were inedible. Really too tough to even cut with a knife. And with the inflated delivery charge, at their whim, a bowl of noodles with shrimp was $ 19. Never again.

Ordered takeout. Food was 15 mins delayed on what was supposed to be a 20 min wait. Bill was incorrect, $ 14 high and had to ask for it to be corrected. Food(chicken pad thai and sweet and sour chicken) was mediocre at best. No real redeeming qualities. Go elsewhere.

Quiet Lincoln Park spot. BYOB with great food — and prices! Tom Yum soup, seafood salad, and roast duck curry — what a treat! We’ll be back.

I come here all the time for their corn cakes and amazing curry, my favorite is the Homok seafood, absolutely amazing and comes with a very nice presentation. The owner is so nice and courteous.

The Spread: The menu has a TON of options for super affordable prices. I was a bit underwhelmed by the Tofu Krapao. The tofu seemed fresh, but the sauce was lacking in flavor, so it didn’t leave much for the tofu to soak in. But I was super impressed by the Beef Lad Na. The beef and noodles were nicely cooked and the sauce was nice and peppery. It’s also nice that its BYOB. We received two fortune cookies with our bill, and one of our«fortunes» revealed our lucky SAT scores. Lolz! The Scene: It’s a quiet, no frills, no fuss type of place. There’s an interesting array of décor… posters, paintings, Christmas lights, etc. We stopped in right before a show at the Apollo Theater; it’s just a few blocks away. The Service: Friendly, attentive and super quick.

This is a little spot nestled in Lincoln Park that my best friend showed me(and her uncle showed her) and in my opinion is one of the best kept BYOB thai food secrets in Chicago. As a college student I appreciate good food for little money and a place that allows me to bring my $ 7 bottle of drugstore wine, and if this is the criteria then PS Bangkok 2 hits the nail on the head. The restaurant is spacious and for some reason is always empty, which boggles my mind because the food is so great! That being said you can walk in with your booze in hand and they will be ready to serve you, whether it is a party or 2 or a party of 10. My friends and I love to come here and partake in a family style meal. This time there was only three of us so we ordered an appetizer and two entrees to split. This was the perfect amount of food(I had some leftovers on my plate) and only cost us $ 9 a person! For our first plate we went with classic Pad Thai. To be honest this is normally not my favorite thai dish but I thought it was perfect. The dish was tangy and delicious. My favorite plate however was the Pad See Ew. This dish was gobbled up in no time! It was made with chewy flat rice noodles soaked in a sweet sauce and mixed with beef and broccoli. The noodles were flavorful and addicting! When I think Thai food this plate is what I imagine! There is only one word to describe the Pad See Ew: yummy!

Perfect little place for Thai. We come from the suburbs just to fill that authentic craving. The dinning room is nothing to be desired and street parking is limited but you are there for the food! Food is very fresh. Veggies are always crisp, noodles are never over cooked and the meat is savory and lean. We have tried many items over our many visits and have never been disappointed. Favorites are: Fried Rice, Pad thai, chicken sate, and Sesame noodles. AND it’s a BYOB!

This review is very very long overdue. I started coming to PS Bangkok 2 over 5 years ago when I moved to Chicago. My apartment was caddy corner from the restaurant(or kitty corner as you would say it here). I moved here in December and the weather took a bit getting used to coming from the Northern Virginia/DC area. PS Bangkok 2 offered me much comfort in that first winter here in Chicago. I ate there at least once a week(or did take out). I have now been living in the West Loop for the last 4 years so I don’t get to PS Bangkok once a week anymore, but it remains my favorite Thai place in Chicago and I still go there at least once a month. I am not sure on the negative reviews because for over 5 years I have had consistently good food there and the owner is one of the nicest I have met. Some of my favorites there are: Spicy Dumplings Glass Noodle Salad Chicken with green beans and basil Spicy ground pork kaprow Spicy Sesame noodles Keep up the good work PS Bangkok 2, I hope you never change! And actually while I want them to do well, I hope they don’t get too popular as I love my hidden gem. It’s become a special place for my husband and I

One of our VIP Chicago clients recommended this place. She warned us that it didn’t look like much, but the food was fantastic. Oh boy, was it. For under $ 20 a person, we had a nonstop train of fabulous tasty dishes that kept on coming, from Thai iced teas, to the steamed dumplings(OMG), satay, gyoza(tiny but flavor packed), then the pad thai, glass noodles, sesame duck special and probably a handful of other dishes that I can’t remember. The service was impeccable, considering that it was just a handful of private tables in addition to a huge group of local students(at least 30 people) that were there at the same time, all handled by just one waitress. Noisy, but that didn’t mean we didn’t enjoy ourselves to the fullest. BYOB.

I am a diehard fan of Noodles in the Pot down the block, but my girlfriend and I decided to try something new. Despite the current rating on Unilocal,I felt that their food was actually very delicious! I got the Rama Curry with beef and my girlfriend got the crispy Pad Thai with chicken and they were both above our expectations. I highly recommend the spicy dumplings too if you’ve got the taste for some heat. It was sad to see the place so empty on a Saturday night, and hopefully it was just because of the inclement weather but this place deserves more respect than Unilocalers are giving them. Maybe they’ve changed their recipes or something, but don’t let the other reviewers discourage you!

Stopped in on a non busy Tuesday evening around 6:30PM as my lady was craving thai. The one girl working there was really nice as she seated us against the wall. She also seemed to be listening to some hip hop(Rick Ross) in the back… lol…no joke. She also made sure our glasses of water were always full. The one thing she did that bugged us was sitting a loud ass group of 4 next to us as we were the only people in there. They were so loud we found ourselves having to amplify our voices to hear each other. They could have been easily sat across the room. We decided to share plates of the shrimp pad thai and the pineabble chicken curry. The pad thai was awesome as expected, but the pineapple curry was just ok. We got egg rolls as well… decent Would probably come back as it is around the corner from me… BYOB exists here also!

BYOB… Always an extra star in my book… My girlfriends and I decided to make PS Bangkok into a little Thai tappas… We had Chicken Satay(delish), Fried Tofu(pretty good), Steamed Dumplings(look weird, but super good!), Beef of Paradise(YES! This is fan-f’n-tastic!). All 5 of us shared 1 Chicken Pad Thai(pretty standard, but really good) With the 4 apps, 1 main dish, and 5 bottles of wine we left stuffed, happy, and drunk… clean place. quick service. Christine Approved.

Disclaimer: One of my dear friend’s fam ownsPS Bangkok 2. Yes. After a LOOOONG barcrawl, what were we craving?! THAIFOOD. How strange, right? We noisly busted up into the restaurant around 8pm. PS Tacos were my appetizer of choice. Coconut + ground pork + wrapped in a sweet crêpe shell = stellar choice! It is one of the most unique appetizers I’ve ever seen on a menu and LOVE it every time I get it. Try it! The roasted duck was delicious and was served on a bed of Chinese broccoli. Love the crispy skin. Yum! My friend’s lad nar had a perfect sauce mixed with the noodles and broccoli. Not too garlicy. I stole some of the sauce and mixed it with my own rice and duck. So good. Prices are amazingly reaonable, too. Plus, they have a pretty wide delivery area if you want to enjoy the food from the comfort of your own home. BYOB, too! Next time, I’ll order the crispy pad thai. Those are the best. Love this place…
