This joint is a gem for those who want healthier options for lunch or dinner. I was out doing some errands for our company and completing my last errand, I noticed my stomach complaining in hunger. And fortunately, I happen to stumble upon this location. It was a Saturday night and I saw many people lining up for their orders. Came in and my eyes began to wander around as I wait for my turn. The place was noticeably clean and has a good atmosphere. Moreover, it seemed like the customers were liking their food. When my turn came, an attentive staff helped me with my order. I had an original pocket and meaty calzone for my dinner. I was really hungry and the food I ordered was just right to fill my hunger. With a large glass of fruit juice and salad for takeout, I left the place happy and satisfied.

Ordered from here a couple times through grub hub, each time their delivery is on point(right within their estimated time frame) and my order is always nice and hot and correct.

Hmmmm… Listed on their site as Logan Sq not Avondale, but ok… Food always good. Delivery usually fast. I have ordered many times. Would be a 4 star at least… but… here is what happened. CUSTOMERSERVICE!!! Awful Customer service. Previously it has been good. I have not ordered for some time for delivery. WOW… never, ever again. Delivery email said 1 hour(potatoes and salad ordered); After 1hr 25min passed. I called. Sure it is raining, that’s why I waited. I was then put on hold, for awhile; while listening to the conversation, and others going on. The employee that had answered was attempting to cover the phone when talking to the driver, then seemed to just put it down. I had to shout into the phone to finally get him to come back on and tell me what is going on. I was then told another 15 – 20 minutes. He said its raining. I said I am aware. I a also aware of my order, and that I am less than 4 miles away. I am also aware that I never received a phone call about the delay. It is now at the hour late mark. AREYOUKIDDINGME??? Oh… just now got the food. 2hrs to deliver. WOW. The driver is not at fault, except for the communication to the restaurant to notify people things will be late. Food now stuck to the inside of the containers. Happy to be eating paper. Thanks a bunch! To the employee on the phone… «sorry» is not an apology. AN apology is not needed. An action of a call and actual customer service is needed. Sorry, if meant as an apology, needs to mean change. Needs to mean that next time, for the next customer(not me!) you will call them with an update. Also telling me you will ask for a discount, when I did not ask for one; is not a solution. Telling me you would like to continue to have my business and telling me you regret that this happened, and you will be giving me a discount(or at the very least waiving the delivery fee!) Dare I say even giving my order for free!!! To the driver, sorry you were in the rain, communicate this to your acting manager… and enjoy your prepaid 20% tip. 2 hours to make 2 potatoes and a salad, and drive 4 miles. I could have run there and back carrying the food in less than 2 hours. Thanks

I like the food, but the service often leaves a bit to be desired.

I love Pockets. I love salads, especially chopped ones. Most of all, I love that I can customize my salad. I’ve been ordering the same one for close to 7 years now. I used to go to one of the downtown ones for lunch, but there’s one fairly close to my house in Avondale. They have traditionally been very quick with delivery, but recently I had an experience where they took an hour and a half. Apparently, driver’s car broke down. A call would’ve been nice, but I’ll let it slide because they are my nearest and most affordable customizable, chopped salad hookup.

We have been going to Pockets for years I always order a salad and we also order kids’ meals and a calzone. The food is always good. The service is not. I filled out the ticket for my salad and circled that I wanted two dressings, so that I would have some for the next day. When the salad came, one of the dressings was missing. I pointed it out to the person who took my order and he said I ordered wrong. I have been ordering this way for the last twelve years at this location and other locations. So I offered to pay for the dressing and he seemed annoyed. He said he would get another dressing and brought out a half size container. The whole thing was a minor issue made into a big deal. I will go to the Pockets on Lincoln instead.

Always what I order made fresh. Good food made fast. Not fast food. The chili is wonderful and you can customize your salad. wish the Buffalo chicken was a little hotter. LOVE the cookies.

Only place open on superbowl sunday for delivery during blizzard. Called to say they had two drivers and would be late because both drivers were stuck in snow and had 6 deliveries before me. They still delivered on time and with a smile!

it was our first time here so i really didn’t know what to order. I asked the cashier a couple if questions and he looked annoyed. While I was ordering another customer came in an he began to have a conversion with him while I standing right there RUDE! It’s been about 30 minutes and our food is still not ready. Hopefully the food is good because the service sucks

I came across this restaurant randomly but the service here was friendly. I got their BBQ chicken calzone and it was flavorful. I am not a fan of calzones but what had here really changed my view about it. I don’t know why but the calzone I had was fantastic and I would like to try more of their calzones if given the chance. The tossed salad they have was extraordinary. Unlike in other restaurants I have been to, I can taste the freshness of the ingredient, which has added more flavor to the salad. Would love to recommend this location.

Pockets are just an empty void of squishy not tasty multiple grain bread. The Asian tuna salad reccomend to me was by far just so awful. I would have rather paid 12 bucks for a pocket full of garbage because I paid 12 bucks for a pocket full of HOT garbage. It might be healthy? I would beg to differ. I searched for a cheeseburger after this disaster. Steer clear. No pockets for you. No problem.

This review is more about the experience rather than the food. Food is good and a healthier choice from other fast food. The management here has to be new or something because they are so kind and polite. They bring your food to the table. Ask if you need anything in a great way. And on my way out the manger opened the door for me and told me to have a great day and to stay dry(it was raining out). Impressive.

I have to say I tend to only leave Unilocal reviews when I have either a really good experience or a really bad experience. This one was bad. First let me start saying the my food was good. Service was fast, fresh, and the staff was very nice and friendly. So what’s my problem right ? Location is modern and LOOKS clean but my experience yesterday will raise concerns on if I ever return. While enjoying my salad yesterday I noticed a very faint smell that was similar to an odor you would find in the State and Lake underground Red Line Station. It was a very faint urine smell. Upon inspection I noticed that my dry seat smelled of piss and I had been sitting on that chair in my sweat pants for about 15 – 20 min while enjoying my salad. This was so gross to me that obviously may have been a freak accident. However it brings up issues of how offer the chairs and tables get cleaned and if those customer facing items are dirty I don’t even want to think about the cleanliness of the kitchen tools I want to love this place because they have great salads and a good healthy option in Avondale.

Healthy Delicious Fast Food. The staff is great! Adam knows great customer service. The food is a little pricey but worth it since its filling. Their pizzas are amazing! The tomato basil soup is great for lunch. I highly recommend their southwest pocket.

3 hours and 9 minutes. That is how long it look for me to get my salad delivered today. The order showed up a few minutes late, and wrong. I called, and I was told a new one would be sent. An HOUR later, no one showed. I called again. I was told the driver was still out but should be back in 5 minutes and heading out for my delivery. 45 minutes later, I called again and was told the driver had just left. It is bad enough when things don’t go well, but the lack of proaction by the management staff who was involved in this and had my phone number, is shameful. My orders are wrong and/or late more than 50% of the time. That is habitual. And after all of this, I got a $ 5 «loyalty» coupon for my trouble. That was more patronizing than helpful. I have been to other Pockets locations without issue, but there is just something WRONG with the Logan Sq. staff and it is tarnishing their brand. I think I need to breakup with my loved Southwest salad. This sh*t ain’t worth it.

When I look for healthy options, I’m glad Pocket’s is in the ‘hood. The food is pretty good and fresh! Oftentimes my bread is still warm, which I love. Unfortunately, the service is what I’ll describe as turtle-ly slow. When I order there, it takes at least 10 – 15 minutes to get my order when it looks fairly empty. When I order online, it quotes me 25 minutes, but I always end up waiting an additional 5 – 10 minutes when I get there. For a fast-casual restaurant, I expect more speedy service. That is the main factor that keeps me from frequently this place more often — I know it’s going to cost me time.

I used to drive past pockets wondering what awesome pocketed food they had, so I finally convinced my roommate to eat there with me one day. The plan was to eat then go see a movie. We ordered our food(me: salad pocket/roommate: calzone) and the employee told us it would be about 15 minutes. Well…25+ minutes later we get our food and unfortunately, it was very disappointing. The pockets they use are not very good, all the ingredients seemed fresh but just not my cup of tea. My roommate wasn’t very impressed by his armored calzone either. The outside dough was nearly impenetrable, and when he finally broke through there was barely anything inside, just a couple cubes of turkey and some melted cheese. Now all this wouldn’t have been so terrible, except for the price we had to pay for this sub-par food.(AND they made us late for our movie) All in all, their food is overpriced and not very good.

In general as a chain I can’t say anything bad about Pockets at all. I am pleased that this place is within waling distance of my home. Is it the best for you? Not the best but as as far as chains are concerned, you can get a relatively healthy meal here. It is beginning to worry me a bit that every time I come in here, there is never really a crowd. I mean this is a bonus for me as I never have to wait too long for my food. I have never had a bad experience here. As I mentioned before, there has never been much of a wait. The service here is great and the food is always really good.

Do not be fooled by their terrible logo and not-very-appetizing food photos… the food is really really really good. Alarmingly good for it being not entirely unhealthy for you. When you order online repeatedly you get pocketPoints or something like that and it leads to free food. I have acquired and received free food multiple times from them. If you like Ranch dressing– this place has the kind that you just want to drink it is so good– if you are into ranch you know exactly what I’m talking about! I have had little issues arise over the years and as soon as I email them about it I have gotten a response from the owner withing minutes… that’s right… I said MINUTES. They mean business. Good business. My issues have always been solved super fast. One time they forgot to put my extra ranch in my to-go bag. I didn’t realize until I got home. I called and someone actually drove to my house to bring me my little cup of ranch dressing. I’m such a glutton.
