I’ve gone at least 5 times in the past two months. The portions are still huge and sometimes the food is not consistently the same, but it is good now. They also have decent coffee.

Pretty great steak, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich. I stop by whenever I’m in Chicago. It’s popular amongst locals. Pretty simple little breakfast spot you’d probably stop by on the way to work. I never eat in; always take my food to good.
They don’t use gloves when handling food though.

What I like about Pete’s is the simple menu. Everything is homemade right in front of your eyes. Their famous chopped steak sandwich is a great lunch choice served on white toast. Have them add bacon and egg for the Super Steak sandwich breakfast experience. Try their full or short stack pancakes, they are fluffy! Pete’s is open super early but closes during the week around 2pm, its a great spot for early morning commuters looking to grab a bite before work.
The owners are always on site and when not busy will chat with you.
