This place is a converted ihop not too updated. There are 10 deep blue booths and 10 table tops. There is not a lot of parking, which I could see as an issue on busy days. The prices for things here are very reasonable. I cam on a Saturday at 9:45 am and it was ½ full. There were 2 waitresses a couple of bus boys and the greeter/manager/owner? The were polite and my coffee never went empty and they did a good job making sure I was taken care of. The coffee was average. Little individual mori milk ½ n ½. I had not heard of the brand so I checked and it was a plant out of Franklin park. So kinda nice that it is locally sourced. The sugar was in packets as was the other sweeteners, which is average, but I am personally not a fan of. I ordered my standard breakfast biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs over easy and a side of sausage patties. The biscuits were kinda hard and the whole order was out in less than 10 min so the biscuits were definitely pre cooked. The gravy was very tasty. Light in color with chunks of sausage. The over easy eggs were also cooked to perfection. The sausage patties were not good. I was very pleasantly surprised when my waitress noticed that I did not really eat any of the sausage patties, she asked if they were ok. I said I just did not care for them very much. I am used to sausage patties being hit or miss, and while I do enjoy writing reviews of places, I tend not to make a fuss if I don’t like something. I figure that the service industry is hard enough without people making a big deal over something that they ordered which they ended up not liking. When she dropped off my bill, she had noted that the patties were taken off. The fact that the staff went the extra mile made this go from 3.5 to 4.5, damn Unilocal and their silly 5 star system. Way to limiting. Also note that while I do take notes while I am eating on my cell phone, I do not have the Unilocal app up, so it is not like they can look and see that I am writing a review. To be hones, I think I am the only one who reads my reviews, it lets me remember the places that I liked. Overall, I would probably order something else next time. Maybe the pancakes, or a chicken fried steak with that gravy on it would probably be amazing. Eggs were great, gravy was great, service was top notch.

While passing by and looking for a breakfast spot we stumbled upon this place. The service was great. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. The food would have been a four if the mushroomsmushrooms in my Vegetarian skillet were not from a can!!! I feel a bit cheated, I mean who uses canned mushrooms!!! The inside is a bit rundown and feels as a badly painted stepsister of the IHOP that used to be.

Service was slow and unattentive. Food was mediocre and very bland. This chain has really gone downhill in the last few years.

I went here with my son just so I didn’t have to travel farther to ihop. They got a new customer. It’s the quality of cozy corner but way cheaper. Breakfast was awesome and tasted great I highly recommend it.

If you are looking for a cheap, convenient, clean, and friendly diner where the servers get to know you by name, look no further. If I could give them 3.3 stars, I would. Friendly staff and a decent selection in an area unfortunately devoid of great food. Atmosphere — it’s a repurposed IHOP, with a slightly different color scheme but otherwise identical. Bit drafty if you sit by the windows. Seriously, if it’s cold, sit in the middle. It’s got a parking lot, which is nice for this area. Seems like most of the people there are regulars. Restrooms are cleaner than to be expected at a diner. Service — our waitress was very friendly, totally in line with the rest of the reviews, she made some friendly banter, checked in often.(One might argue a little too often) Food — across the board, no complaints but no commendations. The Athenian omelette was good. French toast and Biscuits and gravy — meh. Not impressed at all. It was all edible, so there’s that. Will I return? I won’t rule it out.

It’s a bit challenging to find a nice place to eat in this neighborhood, but alas, in the bitter food desert emerges Oliver’s Grill. Very solid diner food and ridiculously friendly service. Like, over-the-top friendly. I had a corned beef hash skillet with swiss cheese and two easy over eggs(what?! I’m still in holiday eating mode!) It was completely delicious and the portion was enormous. It came with a side of pancakes(yes, I ate them too… shut up!) The pancakes were exactly as decent as they needed to be. I’d give them a 2, really. Didn’t stop me from eating them though. I will definitely visit Oliver’s frequently, as I’m in this neighborhood a lot.

Steak and eggs are 5 star… juicy steak & the eggs cooked perfectly. I like my hash browns on the crispy side so I always ask for them well done and they are always on the spot… Impeccable service. I only wished I lived closer then I would be there every day!!!

I was hesitant to go here because if an IHOP didnt last in that location and i felt like i would be disappointed. It was fantastic, the waitress was friendly and attentive to all our needs. The food was pretty damn good as well. Definitely would go there again. Oliver’s is better thanIHOP or Denny’s

Drove by this place many times in the past but finally went there this weekend. I tried the eastern skillet and was not impressed. The hashbrown style potatoes tasted like a ton of black pepper. The scrambled egg did not look like it was very well cooked however I still ate it. The chocolate chip pancakes were the best part of the meal… Probably wont go back given there are other breakfast diners in the area that I have enjoyed much more.

Food is okay. There was only 3 tables full and 2 waitresses on staff. The food was okay nothing special and prices were a little high for a sandwich.

Come here pretty regularly with my family for breakfast or brunch and this place never fails, what was once a crappy IHOP it is now a great family owned place and it’s delicious. I almost always order a skillet because I just love them and it’s always freakin good! loaded with the works; bacon, sausage, ham, hash browns, cheese, green peppers and a nice fried egg on top :)… Portions are great and the service is good. The waitress are always friendly and the place is reasonably priced, so skip out on denny’s and Ihop and come here! it’s GOOOD!!!

Great place.(Took over what used to be IHOP). The hubby and I have ordered carry out twice and I love their chocolate chip pancakes. Today, my ma and I actually dined in. NICE server. She had four other tables, but one couldn’t tell. I decided to change my usual order and got the greek skillet. One star deducted, because I wish there were more feta(LOVE me some feta). Mine came with a side of toast. Their bacon deserves a paragraph of its own. It is almost like turkey bacon, but it isnt. It is made to perfection. Not greasy. Crisp. And no fat!!! I shit you not. LOVE. My ma got the corned beef hash w scrambled eggs, hash browns and white toast. She also got coffee she was pleased with(my ma is VERY picky too, btw). She got a side of bacon as well. All of the above totaled $ 24& some change! Not bad for the amount of good they give you. Will definitely be back!!! Keep up the nice work Oliver’s!!!

Had a great lunch at Oliver’s Grill today! Four people, four different entrées, and four empty plates at the end of our meal. Service was great — feels and tastes like home. Definitely going back!

Stopped in for a late breakfast(at 1pm, so quite late lol), and ordered the Denver scramble. The food was out rather quickly, it was delicious, and the service was quick and friendly. All in all a good visit, and I will certainly be returning.

I don’t get to have a good breakfast through the week, so on the weekends, especially Sundays, I like to go out for a nice breakfast(brunch due to sleeping in, but same difference eh). Upon entering this small establishment, I was not dissatisfied. Decent space, busy on a Sunday of course, and bustling waitresses. However, the bustling about I soon found out was just multiple trips to the expo to ask the cooks where the food was, and that customers had been waiting quite a bit(22 minutes to be exact). I soon met the same fate. I started my review and was soon greeted in Spanish by the hostess which made up for it. I was seated with a nice view of grandmas and outside grandmas, so I decided yes on the coffee. Free refills too so I planned on staying a bit. The waiter was patient while I battled internally between banana pecan pancakes with a side of bacon, or banana pecan waffles with a side of bacon. I went waffles and WOW were they nothin’ special. I had all the water I needed to cure a recently acquired ailment, enough coffee in me to make the newspaper back home read thoroughly, and a full belly, how can I complain? I left soon after paying and my day was off to a waffle start.

So glad we decided to try this place for breakfast. Delicious spinach and feta omelet. Not greasy. My love had an egg and ham breakfast with ham off the bone which was moist and tasty. The staff was quite friendly and provided excellent service. The menu had a nice variety of breakfast(my fav) and lunch items that you like to see at a diner. Reasonable prices and a tasty meal = good value. I believe Oliver’s is an excellent place to have in the neighborhood.

I have visited this restaurant twice and I will likely return in the near future. The prices here are very affordable for diner-type food, especially compared to other diners around the city. The staff is also very friendly. We ordered the sirloin steak and eggs special and was delighted that the steak was tender, juicy, and delicious. The coffee was good too. We also ordered a veggie burger and a vegetarian skillet. The veggie burger was delicious. The vegetarian skillet was chock full of veggies, as we had anticipated, but needed a dash of salt and hot sauce to liven it up a bit. My favorite part of the whole experience? The no-frills menu. No pictures, just words and prices. For me, it’s a throwback to my childhood when diner menus were only words and numbers. It almost makes me feel at home here.
