Don’t waste your time, it’s never open. For the last 3 months I’ve attempted to visit at random times during business hours and it’s never open.

The service here is so bad that it borders on consumer fraud for the company to act as if it even provides a service. It’s been months since my disabled sister ordered glasses from North Shore Optical. I agree with the previous reviewer: If I could give this business a zero – or better yet, a negative rating – I would.

If I could give it 0 stars, I would. This place is a neighborhood clinic and as much as I want to support neighborhood joints, their service stinks! I ordered contacts and glasses, took them 3 months to deliver them to the store and it was the wrong type. Then another 2 months to get the correct prescription and type. Forget about glasses, I’m still waiting on those. On top of that, they have no idea how insurance works. I had the receptionist call my insurance company and they literally had to walk her through the reimbursement amount and she still have trouble getting the amount right. I’m pretty sure I’m still overpaying.

I finally ended my 4-year relationship with North Shore Optical, due to 2 persistent problems with the place: 1) It routinely takes MONTHS to get glasses or contacts ordered. I would call weekly to check the order status and get an array of excuses ranging from, «we must have lost the order» to «we have no way to verify if the order was placed» to «the new guy must have done it» to «the fax isn’t working.» 2) The DOCTOR routinely blows off appointments. Seriously! He was more than an hour late even ARRIVING to the office on at least 3 occasions I recall. I really hope this place shuts its doors; granted, it is a low income area, but that is no excuse to treat people this way. I can overlook the overall creepy vibe I got from the doc on the rare occasions he was able to attend my scheduled appointments, but not the disregard of his clients and their time which, shockingly, is *also* valuable.

This place was horrible! I walked into a jam packed waiting room, after filling out my new patient info I decided to look at the frames available. They were mostly out of style and filthy, I didn’t even want to try them on. Looking past all of the finger prints and dust on the frames I saw all of the dead bugs in the«show cases.» I wanted to leave, but needed to get an exam and new glasses before the end of the year and figured since it was only my eyes getting examined and not a private area, it should be OK. I got a feeling that there was no Doctor in the office since the waiting room just kept filling up and no one was going anywhere. I peaked around the corner and looking past an old vacuum cleaner laying in the middle of the floor, I saw there was no Dr. in sight. When I asked the receptionist how much longer it would be she told me the Dr. should have been there at 3pm(my appt time) and it was now 3:45. And there were at least 8 people ahead of me. Obviously I left, I was already grossed out and didn’t want to wait for the Dr to finally show up. Don’t go here unless you want ugly glasses and don’t mind waiting indefinitely for the Dr to show up to work
