I love this place for delivering late night food in a neighborhood that sorely needs quality grub in the AM. I am leaving Lakeview soon and I wish nineface(oh fusion) the best!

Decent food. Service was what I would expect, but MAN Turn on the Heat Wlll YA? It was FREEZINGINSIDE, basically the temperature was the equivalent to what it was outside in the middle of Feb! The sad thing is, I would have returned and ordered more even on my first visit if I had not been so uncomfortable. Perhaps they didn’t sell enough dragon rolls this month to turn the heat on, or maybe they have a 5 person min to turn the heat on… its BYOB, which is great, but so is my house where the heat is on in the dead of winter.

Late night, done right. If you’re looking for something a little different in the Wrigleyville area this sushi and thai fusion spot had it for me. Great friendly staff, and the food is a combination of cultural influences and tastes that contribute to the overall blending of flavors, richness, and preparedness. I had the Rama noodle, and I was surprised by how much I liked it. I nearly drank the peanut sauce. Place is great, and will defini tely be back with the crew!

I ordered delivery through groupon and was pretty pleased. Delivery was spot on what was promised time wise. I ordered a chef’s choice assortment of sashimi, which was good. I ordered the crispy rice spicy tuna which was decent. It was a good place if you live local and want some basic sushi– I ordered really basic rolls and was exactly what I expected, but would try the speciality rolls next time. I would order again if in the area.

ordered off of grub hub and the food came super fast. crab Rangoon is delish, as are the little shrimp dumplings. the best though was the red dragon sushi roll. I ordered late at night because I work evenings, and the sushi tasted so fresh and was so yummy! I would definitely recommend this place and can’t wait to try more dishes!

The delivery took 1.5 hours and when the driver arrived it seemed as though he was drunk. The food was not hot when we got it and it was just mediocre. Not worth the wait or the money. There are plenty of Thai restaurants in the city so do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Honestly, this place deserves 0 stars.

We have been here three times since this restaurant has been Nineface. The food is very good. The most recent time, we ordered unagi rolls, dragon rolls, spider rolls, seaweed salad and tom yum fried rice. Everything was delicious. I give them a 3 star rating because service is so bad. When we are there, there aren’t too many others in the restaurant. Last time, there wasn’t anyone else. That makes it frustrating when all you want to do is get seated but have to wait, order but have to flag down your waiter who only has one table and flag him down again when you want the check and you want to pay. I could be a little more understanding if the place was packed but again, we are normally the only ones there. Maybe we will just do carry out from now on.

I am still a novice when it comes to sushi, I can never remember the names of the rolls that I like, so I feel like it takes me forever to order. That being said, I did enjoy this place. I came here with a buddy(his suggestion) and we ordered a few basic rolls and a few with eel, something we both love. We didn’t order a lot, maybe 5 or 6 rolls and just tried a little of each one. It was very good, but again I think we just ordered basic stuff. I was a fan of everything and would probably come back. It’s not that far from where I moved too. Don’t really know of any other sushi joints in the area, but I did enjoy it. I would recommend it. The cushion seats were awkward, I felt like I was going to fall through. No tea :(Small little place liked the atmosphere. Again, I would go back.

What a big waste of $ 47.96. There’s plenty of sushi and Thai places in Chicago, don’t order food from here unless you want oily greasy food that you won’t eat and end up tossing it in the trash. Even delivery was poor service. The delivery guy was nice but he didn’t follow instructions,

My grub hub order was canceled after waiting on it for 20 minutes. The email from grub hub said the restaurant had failed to confirm the order was received. I called Nineface Thai to ask them what to do. I was assured my order was on the way and that they would straighten this out with grub hub. I proceeded to wait the rest of the anticipated delivery time and the order did not arrive. I called again and the same person I spoke with initially told me the order was not done– it was canceled and had no explanation why. They offered to bring it in another 30 minutes. By the time it did arrive, it had been nearly 2 hours of hopeful starving/waiting and was pretty much bedtime. It was lame that the order was cancelled initially, but worse that they promised to fix it and left us hanging. On a positive note, our meal was comped. If I were rating this restaurant on the food alone, I would give them 2 stars… The green curry was a good heat level, but had only 2 types of vegetables(green pepper and green beans), and this is the same for the vegetable basil fried rice. Serving sizes were fairly small, not large enough to share(especially if you have been waiting 2 hours to eat). I’m very disappointed :(

I ordered the spicy tuna, hamachi jalapeño, volcano and miso. I would recommend this place, but would order a few things differently next time. The hamachi jalapeño and spicy tuna were delicious. I’d skip the volcano or something order without the cream cheese and the scallops seemed to be previously frozen. Not so good. The miso soup had this strange taste to it, so I’d recommend also skipping this. I ordered on grub hub and everything was delivered in a little over an hour, so if you use grub hub, definitely order earlier.

Perfect for date night — adorable, intimate interior. Their food is even better — best Pad Thai I’ve ever eaten. Pad See Ew is fantastic, fried rice is great… they’re seriously amazing and addicting and the guys who work there /own the place are so sweet. Takes 10 – 15 min for take out. Every time I visit Chicago this is my first stop!!!

My boyfriend and I just moved into the neighborhood and love this place. Reading other reviews I’m Shocked why anyone would have any gripe. Why we loved it : 1. The owner, Tinn, is friendly and enthusiastic and really cares about the food he’s making 2. The staff/server was friendly and prompt 3. BYOB 4. Sweet potato maki and pad Thai were my order — delicious, hot. Maki was crisp and beautiful presentation 5. Mongolian beef was amazing and tender, high quality 6. Sesame chicken was crisp and better than any we’ve tried anywhere My boyfriend is a chef and VERY picky about his food. We loved this place and love supporting local business. We will be back. Also there’s a liquor store by the Sheridan red so stop there to grab your booze and then head a few steps over!

I usually don’t write Unilocal reviews, but this sushi was so bad I felt I needed to. I picked this place based on their stellar rating so I was very surprised to find that their sushi was absolutely terrible. The rice was dry with a rubbery texture. The tempura tasted stale and the little amount of meat in the sushi was anything but fresh. I’m not a picky eater by any means — i’ll eat pretty much anything, but I tried one piece of each variety and called it quits. The only reason I’m giving this place 2 stars is because their Pad See Ew that my boyfriend ordered was excellent. If you order from here, try their Thai and but stay away from the sushi.

Very disappointed in this place. I ordered sushi for myself and my boyfriend from here and the best I can say is that some of the food was mediocre. This makes me terribly sad. I love sushi, and my standards probably aren’t very high compared to expert eaters, but this place just didn’t make the cut. The Volcano roll had a vile amount of spicy mayonnaise on it, and I say this as someone who routinely orders french fries just so she can put mayo on them. It was also almost totally overwhelmed by a synthetic smoke flavor. We also ordered a Dragon roll, Crunch roll, and Chirashi Deluxe, plus edamame and miso soup. The miso soup was inoffensive, and the Crunch roll was slightly better than that. The Dragon roll, which tasted fine, despite having too much cream cheese, had such large pieces that it was physically difficult to consume. Sadly, the edamame was both cold when it arrived and overcooked. To top it all of, the fish in the Chirashi was cut very poorly, making it tough, and without anything to hide the flavor, not particularly fresh tasting.

I ordered late night(1:30 am) delivery. Parts were very good… Let me elaborate. The good: –THEBEST crab rangoons I’ve had in Chicago(and I’ve had a lot.) The wonton wrapper was thin and crispy, and the filling was delicious. — Pretty good spicy salmon roll. It was topped with spicy mayo instead of mixed into the roll, but not a big deal. — Decent miso soup but nothing remarkable. The bad: — Tom Yum Fried Rice… The rice seemed old and chewy? It was in clumps. There were almost no veggies. It tasted overwhelmingly like ginger. The tofu was good, though. — The delivery was about 10 minutes late but not a huge deal. Luckily I had to order enough food to meet the delivery minimum that I was full without eating the fried rice. I’d definitely order the crab rangoons and their sushi again, as late night options are limited.

I placed an order for delivery tonight. First of all took 2 hours to get to my house. The driver was half way out the door with a half I’m sorry as he ran away. The food was sub par at best. We ordered shrimp fried rice, easy dish. Never in my life have I had fried rice I have to pick the tails off of and the rice was sticky from sitting out so long. We ordered two sushi rolls. One which was edible, but the second had weird rock hard pieces in it we had to spit out. Pretty bad. I would not waste $ 60 on this place ever again.

I went to visit a friend in Lakeview today and we were starving. We checked out this sushi place we saw last time I was in the neighborhood. The set up is cute and girly. I really liked the aura. There were black and white chairs and shadow outlines of the skyline on the wall. It was also very dim in there. The menu was extensive with Japanese options and Thai options. I couldn’t decide what I wanted, so I just went for the simple Pad Thai dish. I thought the food was not my favorite. It didn’t taste like any Pad Thai that I was used to. There weren’t any sprouts and green onions. I also thought the side of carrots was not enough for my noodles. I like vegetables. The sauce didn’t taste like a peanut sauce to me. It actually tasted like ketchup, not a preferred taste. I thought the service was great though. It was great Asian hospitality. They greet you when you entered. They laid out the plates, took our order right away, and gave us large portions. The waitress acted like the hosts I would find at a family party. I really liked that. I left satisfied, but I don’t think I’ll try the Thai food here again. I will give the sushi a try next time though.

My experience with this restaurant was so bad that it prompted me to write my first Unilocal review ever. Basically ordered some sushi and gyoza(frozen and basic) for delivery. When it was delivered the sushi was basically hot and gross and risky. I called to let them know that and after trying to explain to the manager for nearly 15 minutes that it doesn’t matter if it looked fine when it left the kitchen it wasn’t upon delivery, they finally said they would refund me. About 10 minutes later I get a call from a 312 number with a very thai voice on the other line trying to say that they represent grub hub and what were the discrepancies of the order. I assume it was the chef which is pretty inappropriate after I already was having a negative experience with the restaurant. All in all, I find out they only gave me a partial refund and not a full refund, essentially I paid $ 20 for an order of bad gyoza. I would actually recommend that people stay away from this restaurant. Bad food, bad business, bad service.
