Ordered the thin crust cheese and garlic mozz bread. Pizza was great… Good flavor. Very disappointed in the garlic bread. It was black on the ends because it was burnt to a crisp. I can’t believe they served it like that. If order again but hopefully my food bag won’t smell like burn

Delicious deep dish! I miss the Lincoln Park location that closed years ago! Prices are really reasonable compared to other pizzerias in the area. The chicken pesto pizza is surprisingly good!

I’ve ordered My Pi a few times for delivery. The food was overall tasty. The garlic bread was solid — you could taste the garlic but it wasn’t hit-you-in-the-face. The thin crust pizza was okay– decent but I prefer others. My favorite thing was the sauce — it was delicious. It had a nice texture from the tomatoes and a good balance of sweetness and acid. The crust is not my favorite. It was too thin and crispy/crunchy for my personal taste. However, a thinner crust also means I will give their deep dish a try. I was pleasantly surprised by their sandwiches — simple but really fresh. Delivery was decent. Most of the time our order arrived close to the estimated time. I found it to be a little expensive for what you get with delivery but they do have some good weekday promotions. This has the potential to get bumped after trying their deep dish.

definitely the skinny version of the typical chicago deep dish. i had planned on grabbing a slice of thin crust(cause i’m watching my figure. not.) but based on looks, pure looks, it was a little too thin? like cracker, totinos thin. which is cool, for some. but not my style. so i went with a slice of sausage deep dish(right out of the oven). usually not a fan of deep dish, but this wasn’t the overwhelming, unbutton your pants kinda deep dish. & holy sauce. that stuff was amazing. the most flavorful pizza sauce i done ever had. huge tomato chunks too. an order out type of place, with friendly & enthusiastic staff, and phenomenal sauce. can’t go wrong here!

I love my pi-I’ve been hooked since the first time I tried it at the old location on Clark Street in Lincoln Park. I miss that location but I’m glad I can still get my pizza/salad/sandwich fix. I actually prefer their thin crust pizza but the deep dish is also really good. The salad bar is always fresh and the crotons are so yummy! I have had a few sandwiches from the lil guys menu and have always been happy. Especially the turkey-it’s real roasted turkey, not typical deli meat. The sides are also pretty good. Also, I no longer live in the delivery area unfortunately but I always loved the delivery guys. Super nice guys. And one last thing-get the cookie! It’s always worth it.

Seriously, My PI? I understand that delivery times can vary, and there might be a Sunday night rush… but if its going to take 2+ HOURS, you should give your customers a heads up. SO — It arrived, and it is AWFUL. Cold, no cheese. DONOTORDERFROMHEREONSUNDAYNIGHTS!

I can’t speak to the delivery as I always drop in for a slice but my opinion is that this is the best pie in Chicago– certainly better that Lou Malnatis which is a sad, soggy pizza. What I particularly like about My Pi is that the pizza crust is actually crispy which is unusual for deep dish but is typical of TRUE Chicago pizza– thin crust, cracker type of of texture.

Great pizza! Loved the deep dish! Pi pizza was my husbands and I first experience with deep dish and we weren’t disappointed. I had to give it 4 stars due to small space that wasn’t the cleanest and high prices, but most places with delish food are like that. Ha!

I love two deep dish pizza places in Chicago, and this is one of them(Pequod’s is the other). This place isn’t just good at deep dish though, it’s thin crust is as good as any. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is casual – although it’s mostly a take out place. They do slices too, and I frequent this place for lunch. Have yet to try the sandwiches at «Lil Guy’s», but if they’re anything like the pizza I may just come here everyday.

Ordered a deep dish with ham and pineapple last night and it was AMAZING! Almost as good as Lou’s. The sauce was chunky and had a nice kick to it. The pie had just the right amount of cheese so I didn’t feel totally stuffed after just one bite. The crust had a nice buttery crunch to it. The ham may have been smoked or something because it was so good. Ingredients all tasted fresh. Will definitely order again.

Uncut! Uncut! Hey, I’m talking bout pizza, now. If you order the amazing deep dish pizza to go or delivery(as you can’t really eat in, it’s a tiny space), you gotta do the pineapple and giardinera like a true Chicagoan who likes a sweet life. When you order, you must specify you’d like it uncut. This will help keep the pizza nice and warm so the gooey cheesy goodness feels just out the oven even if it took 30+ min in Chicago winter traffic to get to you. The pizza is better than Lou’s or Giordano’s(IMO), as you’re not getting the touristy insanely deep pizza known as Chicago deep dish, instead MP’s thick crust is just thick enough to sustain heaping toppings, sauce etc. This is not a filled up pie of synthetic tasting cheese(sorry, G’s). This is definitely more authentic and way better tasting. Keep the coupons on the boxes and if you eat enough, you get one free! Rewards for being a true Chicagoan.

So sorry, My Pi, but you lost a star because 1) your delivery guy called the lobby security phone twice even though there is a prominent sign on the lobby doors instructing delivery folks to call their customers to retrieve the orders and 2) he had the audacity to tell me to answer my phone, blaming me for his other orders were getting cold! You know, it’s these little things…

OKNOWWEARETALKING, PEOPLE. This is some amazing pizza!!! And affordable! Got the deep dish with sausage and green olives and holy cooooooow YUMYUMYUM. Add’l plus: BYOB. Plus plus: Wednesday pizza deal is a steal! I agree with the previous review on how bothersome the eco-unfriendly practices are. Hot pizza goes directly on a plastic plate and they use plastic cups, plastic container for salads, plastic utensils. But I figure it’s BYOB so I just BYO plates, silverware, cups, cloth napkins, too.

This place has some seriously great pizza. For pizza alone I’d give them a couple more stars. Unfortunately, the overall experience was a bit lacking. My dad and I were on a roadtrip from CA, and one of the things I was looking forward to the most(foodwise at least) was trying Chicago’s deep dish pizza. So I asked the internet gods to point us in the right direction, and they led me to an article on Serious Eats that featured My Pie. My mouth was watering halfway through the paragraph. So I found them on Unilocal, read a few reviews, and decided we needed to try the My Pie Special — sausage, pepperoni, or spinach with mushrooms, onions, and green peppers. When we arrived, starving after driving 5 hours straight, I ordered the My Pie special expecting salvation from the monotony of I-80. The cashier asked us about our choice of meat(we chose sausage) and reminded us that it came with mushrooms, onions, and green peppers and asked if that was alright. Yes, yes that sounded perfect. Our pizza took less than the 20 minutes we were expecting, and the first thing I noticed other than the heavenly smell was green olives. All over. I thought«Hey, maybe the green pepper looks different here?» Our server plopped it down so surely that I didn’t question him. He had two plates ready for us and everything. There were at least 3 other employees that could’ve corrected him but didn’t. I thought it was maybe my mistake. But a few bites in, I realized that it wasn’t the pizza we were expecting. It was sausage, pepperoni, and green olives. No mushroom. No onion. No green peppper. But we weren’t going to wait another 20 minutes for our order to be remade or waste a pizza. We were too ravenous and too tired. So we ate it in peace and left. It was still a good pizza, but it was not the pizza we ordered. As a previous review mentioned, the green olives are overpowering and bitter. And they’re not easy to miss, they don’t actually look a thing like green peppers. Maybe the weariness of the road made me doubt myself. I just wish that the employees would double check their orders. We were there around 4:30 and it wasn’t busy, so there’s not much excuse for mixing up orders. I’m not altogether certain that it was the right size for a medium, since there were only 4 slices. Looking at other reviews makes me think we were given a small. I guess I’ll still be dreaming of that perfect Chicago deep dish… this one could have been it.

My Pie has slices… gotta love that… but from earths point of view My Pie has some work to do. Positives: My Pie has a recycling bin! A lot of their pizza products are served in paper. Negatives: They serve their salads in non-biodegradable plastic containers, with plastic utensils, plastic cups for water, with plastic containers to carry the dressing in. And if you order it to go, you get a plastic bag to wrap the plastic container in! Phew. If you eat your deep dish in, you get a plastic plate. My Pie, you taste so yummy, but please consider switching to plant-based goods to replace your plastic products! There are a lot of new options for containers, utensils and bags that are biodegradable. That change will go a long way!

I discovered My Pie in a quest to introduce my boyfriend to the concept of deep dish pizza. So I set aside my own personal love of Giordano’s, Gino’s East, and Lou Malnati’s and scoured the interwebs for a curated list of the best deep dish in Chi town. I came across Serious Eats analysis of deep dish and my BF and I selected My Pie as our winner to try out.( ) Right off the bat, I wasn’t expecting such a hole in the wall(not in a bad way)! This place really is a hidden gem. It really only seats about 6 – 7 people inside, so it’s a cozy establishment for a hearty lunch. We ordered a medium sausage and green pepper pie that was pretty darn good. Crust: Crisp exterior and light interior(just like serious eats recommended). However, I found it to be a little dry and perhaps a little too tough to bite through… had to hand over some crust bits to my BF to finish off for me Sauce: Very vibrant with an excellent balance of sweetness and acidity. Many tomato chunks, very delicious. Cheese: Tasty, not rubbery, and in good proportion with the sauce and meat. However, I personally like my deep dish to be cheese heavy, so I was a little disappointed. Toppings: Sausage was well seasoned, juicy, and cut into good sized chunks. Green peppers were an excellent mate for the meat. Overall, My Pie was a tasty and hearty lunch. However, it just doesn’t make me salivate the way Giordano’s and Lou Malnati’s do. It’s definitely a good option, just not the absolute BESTIMHO. But my BF certainly enjoyed his introduction to deep dish!

This place is more like a 4.5 stars IMHO. This place had been recommended by prior online reviews from Chicago locals, so I decided to check it out with my friend. They specialize in what you-would-hope-for-as-a-tourist-Chicago-style-deep-dish-pizza. My friend drove us so I didn’t have to worry about transportation to/from there, but I don’t think that there is a super easy way to get there via public transport. The place is pretty small and is tucked in a tiny shopping plaza. When you open the glass doors, you are immediately met by a glass counter/cash register and a pizza oven behind it. There’s an aisle in which you can peruse the toppings/look at their accolades on the wall and pick up your carryout orders to. Looking at the chalkboard menu, my friend and I decided to order a medium-sized deep dish pizza with mushrooms, pepperoni and sausage. The total came out to $ 24.97 including tax(they charge per topping). There is an option of dining in(which we did), although there are probably only 4 – 5 tables available to choose from. They do offer park benches to sit outside on the warmer days, but given the freezing weather, they remained unoccupied. The pizza is pretty darn good. Their crust is a bit on the thinner side, so don’t go expecting Lou Malnati’s thick butter crust or anything. The crust IS great though. And the helpings for the toppings, especially the sausage, were generous. A medium-sized pizza can typically feed 2 grown men well(3 slices each) or 3 grown women well(2 slices each). There is a lot of flavor packed in each bite. I was thoroughly impressed. They do offer a lunch special that’s not too expensive. The price is a bit steeper than I would have expected for a medium pizza, but it is definitely one of the better deep dish pizzas in Chicago. And it is definitely worth a try.

Home Alone 2. Kevin McAllister runs from the seedy streets of late-night NYC, hailing a taxi. «It’s scary out there.» The driver turns, a mix between Andre the Giant and the bad guy from Men in Black: «ain’t much better in here, kid.» Kevin’s cab-ride realization was my own at My Pie. Freezing outside with snow in our faces, we hurried in towards the glowing warmth. We grabbed the two-top closest to the door; it’s cramped but still fairly warm. I hit my head on a pipe. The small sausage+green pepper deep dish was done within minutes thanks to calling ahead one half-hour. People behind the counter were friendly. One bite though and«ain’t much better in here, kid» came back to me. So did those frozen Red Baron pizzas I got hooked on in 7th grade. Ultra crispy crust is thick and dry, parching instantly. It dominates the sauce, needs more salt and acidity. The sausage was solid, cheese forgettable. I had asked for their smallest deep dish. I looked down at this $ 16 anchor, resigned myself, and choked down two slices thanks to a glass(es) of water. Pequod’s and Lou’s are clear winners AND serve a personal for under $ 10, thus making My Pie obsolete.

My Pie, you are officially one of my favorite pizzas I’ve tried in the city! But first, some background. I come from a family of pizza-lovers, so it was no surprise that my dad wanted to try a new pizza for his birthday. After perusing various articles about Chicago’s best pizzas, we discovered My Pie. Based on it’s promising reviews and proximity to my bf’s apartment, I decided to give this place a shot. I ordered at 4:30PM on a Monday and the wait was quoted at half an hour. I parallel parked on the street when I arrived only to realize that there’s a small parking lot because it’s part of a small strip mall. Perfect! I’ll have to remember that for next time – no worries about city street parking! I picked up the pie to go and headed home. After warming it up a bit in the oven(thanks to the hour of rush hour traffic), we dug into it. Crust: Light, crispy, slightly buttery. Sauce: Perfection. This is what really stood out to me. I don’t know what the seasonings are exactly, but they are exactly what all pizzas should have, I’ve decided. The biggest standout about the sauce is the tomatoes. Mmm. So chunky! The exact opposite of sauce from a can. This is really fresh stuff. Toppings: We chose to get mushrooms, green pepper, and onion. They were fresh and flavorful – particularly that onion! They didn’t skimp on the toppings at all. Cheese: There was the perfect amount! Unlike other deep dish pizzas(I’m looking at you, Giordano’s, and even Lou’s), which have way, way too much cheese for my tastes, My Pie has the perfect amount. After eating a piece, I didn’t feel stuffed or gross, like I often do after eating something really heavy. No guilt or feeling that the pizza is going to sit inside of me for eternity! We all agreed that we are official fans of My Pie and I can’t wait to come back. It looks like there’s a pretty sweet lunch special of which I’ll have to take advantage at some point!

My Pie is finger licking delicious. –insert inappropriate phrase here– My Pie can get sloppy and gooey — it’s lip smacking good. After one bite, you can’t help but devour your slice. The crust breaks apart at times so you can’t help but shove more in your mouth. For a deep dish, it’s actually thinner than most deep dish pizzas. A skinny Chicago deep dish pizza sounds like an oxymoron but the ratio works. It’s $ 4.11 a slice(tax included) but the real deal is their weekly specials on a large thin or deep dish pizza. They have salads and sandwiches as well for the carb conscious. Just don’t come here and not get a slice of the deep dish pizza.
