The rice, beans and tortilla tacos had great flavor. Brought shrimp for my wife, she enjoy it! Definitely going back there again. Staff was great!

This place is great! Were walking home one day and saw this place(loads of parking for those driving) and figured we’d stop in for dinner. I ordered two tacos and my husband got the fajitas. Both orders were massive! And delicious. And the tortillas are made fresh there and so scrumptious. Will definitely be going back.

Food was OK, but poor customer service, asked for water to 2 different waiters whom asked if I needed anything and I said water please and none of them got me anything to drink, they need to improve their service

Small unassuming place. Plenty of parking. Promptly greeted for breakfast. Dining alone. Immediately welcomed. Went with the authentic, chilaquiles. I thought i knew what this dish was from eating elsewhere. I was wrong. Now i understand. A bed of Fresh chips covered with cheese, rojos sauce, two perfect eggs, and a bacon thin piece of steak, tender as you can get. Beans and rice on the side. Outstanding.

Sorry but this place has lost its charm. Walked in and manager/owner/host walked past me twice and didn’t even greet me. Quality of food isn’t what it used to be. I have to say the servers are the only good thing about this joint. They’re probably treated horribly too.

Manjares is my new favorite Mexican spot on the South side. I come here for the mariscos(usually filete al mojo de ajo) and they never, ever disappoint. I LOVE their salsa, it is so rich and flavorful, and warm like a stew. This is authentic Mexican, the real real. Service is always attentive and food comes out exceptionally quickly, in my experience. I feel well fed, well treated and well satisfied every single time I’m here. No, the décor hasn’t made it into the 21st century, and the actual structure is not pretty, but honestly I’m too busy throwing my food down to look around. I recommend Manjares.

Place is very nice, staff is attentive but not overwhelming. The food here is really good I usually get cecina,. But today I didn’t feel like having such a big plate so I ordered their torta especial! Honestly really good! I don’t like breaded meat and it has chicken so I asked grilled chicken, and extra toasty bread, and they were the best at fulfilling my request! Paired it with their coffee! Now I’m ready to continue this cold winters day! If you’re in doubt just go for it! I’ll be waiting on your thank you!

If you’re interested in eating some real Authentic MEXICAN food this place is for you! Handmade Tortillas are mandatory for authenticity! Everything is made to perfection from the salsa to the coffee. I always get their Cecina! It’s definitely one of their many specialties. Huge parking lot and plenty of seating inside makes it a no hassle(no wait) even on the weekends! So just give this place a try! I promise you’ll be back!

The food is FANTASTIC and the service is good. But if you’re looking for a fancy eatery, this ain’t it. The décor is far from modern. Kind of like your grandma who still has plastic on the furniture. The bathrooms were clean, but definitely need to be updated. But I go for the food. The guac is always fresh, chips warms and meat well seasoned. Oh, yeah the margaritas rock, too.

This place was good the server was nice and helpful, he had patience and a great attitude! My husband and I got the appetizer, plus they served us some warm salsa and hot chips just out of the fryer. So we were full by the time we ordered our food, so we shared a plate! That plate was perfect for us two! We also orders the Margarita on the rocks! It was so strong and so good! This place is well worth it! Only thing I would change is the decorations it’s kind of outdated but the food and service makes up for it!

Run down restaurant, decent cleanliness, unfriendly service, but really good food. Differently a hole in the wall spot.

Such amazing chiquilles! I came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning and was blown away by the chiquilles. This dish was perfectly balanced and the verde sauce was very spicy(Just like I like it). Possibly the best chiquilles I’ve ever had. I came during a very non busy time(10 am on a Saturday), so there weren’t many people there, but the restaurant is very spacious and could hold larger groups of people. Also, if you are driving here, the restaurant has a good size parking lot which is a plus. This is a place worth checking out.

My dad and I love this place for brunch. We(he) goes there every weekend. The service is great. Authentic food menu, homemade tortillas, and cinnamon infused coffee make it a great go to place.

I stopped at Manjares restaurant after subbing at Juarez HS. A student had recommended it. I ordered the Caldo de mariscos con una pequeńa ración de arroz for $ 15. 99. A glass of white wine was $ 5. Inside the savory tomato broth were all sorts of shell fish, octopus, shrimp, lobster, squid, etc. A side dish included cilantro, onions, limes and a small dish of Spanish rice. This was accompanied by copious fresh corn tortillas. All for $ 23.40. ¡Fantástico¡ Regreso.

I only ordered chips and guac and a horchata. Both of which, I absolutely could not get over. Both delicious! The horchata is a bit on the sweeter side so unless youre a sweets person, you might think the horchata is too much. You can dine it or take to go. the restaurant has an authentic feel to it and of course they offer chips if you dine in.

Drove by this place and had an instant desire for breakfast tacos. I have never been here though I have frequented just about everywhere else in the 18th st pilsen area. There was a good following of breakfast diners and the food that was served up looked outstanding. I ordered two egg, chorizo and cheese breakfast tacos(not on the menu) and a coffee for $ 6. The breakfast tacos were by far the best I have ever had. The tortillas are handmade in house and oh-so fresh. They were served up by a very helpful and kind staff. I am already planning my return trip to have more. Might just hit up their karaōke on Friday or Saturday nights to try their margaritas.

To me this is without question the best Mexican breakfast/brunch spots in Chicago. It’s not fancy and the service can be very, very slow when they are busy but it’s worth it. Plus it’s not like the servers are rude, it can just take a while sometimes. Their coffee is great. Their Michelada is without question the best in Chicago and the prices are just right. I’m typically not a fan of warm salsa but theirs has grown on me. It’s spicy but not overwhelming. I really like their tortillas, as someone else mentioned. The menu is diverse and has lots of seafood options. I have yet to go for dinner but I have ordered off the lunch menu before as well, it was good. Looks like they have drink specials during the week as well.
