I love their mariscos fundidos, haven’t found a better one anywhere. I also love the tostada they give you as an appetizer, included as part of the dish! Delish! Take out is just as good too!

Terrible, terrible, terrible. To begin with, this place offers a small variety of seafood. The prices are so inflated! The salsa with chips lacked flavor. The tostadas are $ 6.00 a piece and do not give you a generous amount. The décor of the place is so outdated. The waitresses were really friendly, and that’s about all I can say was a positive.

Ridiculously served dishes and overpriced!!! 6 Shrimp and a plate full of crap!!! $ 14.00 Really? Potato salad and some lettuce… Complete rip off!!! With so many great places in the area I’m surprised this dump is still open. Delfines 1 had many years without any competition. At the time there was no Mexican restaurants specializing in seafood so they cornered the Mexican seafood market. Now it’s plain not acceptable the food is a gimmick. All the dishes are filled with carp and very small portions of actual seafood. They should be ashamed of what they rip off from there own people. You can tell because this place is as quiet as a library. Nobody in the restaurant but the owner and here daughter trying to pinch penny’s on their rip off plates. Do yourself a favor and got to Las Islas, El Veneno or Mariscos Luis you will actually get seafood on your plate. If not got to Pete’s buy 6 shrimp for $ 2.50 a salad for $ 1.00 and save yourself the money and aggravation of getting ripped off by these crooks. I love their ceviche de pescado tostadas. Their service could be better but I can’t complain about the food. It has such a homemade taste.

Horrible service! Had us waiting over 45 minutes and they completely forgot about us! We had to go up to the front desk just to get someone to attend us! And afterwards the owners daughter came over to «apologize» with a very rude attitude and she was the one would had forgotten about us. Wouldn’t recommend this place

I had passed by there one day on a run and wondered if it was the same Los Delfines that my father used to take me to when I was a kid and of course it was, just a different location. I have always had fond memories of going there with my dad when I was little and decided to give it a try one day, needless to say given my five stars, I was not disappointed. I ordered a lobster portion with shrimp and skirt steak which, was very good by the way. Also, along with the rice, they gave me a little bowl of soup that was so fire I think next time I’ll just order soup and rice. I definitely recommend eating here and look to bring my father here now in the near future.

My gf and I have been regular customers of the delfines restaurants. We would frequent their location on 63rd st and California ave. Until the neighborhood got bad and they closed down. This location is also run and owned by the same family as the original location. We usually dine in and always have a good experience. This weekend we ordered take out. And as always the food is delicious. We usually order the camarones rellenos. Jumbo shrimp stuffed with cheese, I’m assuming its queso chihuahua and they are wrapped in bacon, delicious! All entrees are served with white rice, potato salad, small salad and if u like bread with butter or tortillas, we ask for the bread with butter. As appetizers they offer you a choice of fish soup or tostada de ceviche. I highly recommend the tostada de ceviche, its the best! Overall the food is really good and you should stop by and experience it yourself.

Huge portions and tasty food. The rice was delicious and overall it was actually really good(tortillas as well are amazing). I think maybe we ordered a bit wrong though. Had seafood fajitas and fried shrimp with cheese. The shrimp dish was a bit heavy and the seafood ended up being a bit muddled in the fajitas(again the rice was the best part). If I was in the area I would recommend, but maybe not worth a trip.

Have been wanting to come here and finally did. I have had their stuffed shrimp in their first location many years ago and have always enjoyed them. So this is what I ordered here. When I bit into the shrimp, I wanted to stand up and sing some opera or something. They were out of this world as I remembered them. I also liked the complimentary soup they gave me. Service was real good and so was the food. I am already thinking of coming back and bringing my mom next time.

Had the worst craving for lobster. I must say that I wasn’t disappointed. The bf doesn’t like seafood, so it was a good think that they serve tortas. Beware the Mexican taqueria menu is limited. I ordered a Jamaica to drink and a langosta a la parrilla. The lobster was out of this world. Super fresh, and not chewy! I was so happy that I came here. Service was friendly!

I’ve have been coming here since I was a baby and the food has been amazing all these years. I love their rice and how their ceviche is different but amazing compared to other mexican seafood restaurant. I cannot get enough of the food here.

We are a customer to Los Delfines for over 10 years! The food is the best seafood in town!!! I love arroz con mariscos(rice with seafood) and the piña colada is the best!!! My husband always ask for shrimp cocktail and my 10 yrs old daughter too! Before you order your food, they bring a tostada or a little soup as a snack while you wait for your order, and a bowl full of tortillas chips and sauce! The only bad thing is since is a small place and very good, always get crowded! so get prepared to wait if you go on a especial day or weekend! :)

Neighborhood Mexican seafood place. Gets a lot of families, and can get crowded. Full bar. Place is kind of beat up, the vinyl seats in the booths are patched with duct tape, giving it a rural, 1980s family restaurant feel, the kind of place that would’ve had Bubble Up on the menu. Comes off as charming, but I’m a little hesitant to trust anything but the most deep-fried of seafood from a place this ratchet. So we stuck to non-seafood standards like chips, salsa, burritos and tacos. All were decent, but nothing to rave about. Cervezas come out in frosted mugs, a nice touch, especially on a hot August afternoon. If you stay on the north side, you might encounter a few things here you’re probably not used to seeing:(1) a pack of mariachis in cowboy regalia will come around and try to serenade your table; always annoying, but especially so on a hot August afternoon. Just smile, shake your head ‘no’ and say no gracias, and they’ll be on their way to the next table.(2) A deaf guy might come around and place some kitschy religious trinkets on your table, asking for a $ 2 or $ 3 donation in exchange, and a card explaining that he’s trying to feed his family. If you want the trinket, put a few bills down, if not, just leave them sit and he’ll be back around to scoop them up.(3) If you pay with a credit card, they’ll sweat you for ID and so forth, don’t be offended, it’s the South Side. Overall, an OK place to get lunch if you have matters to attend to in the area, but not worth going out of your way for. Note that they may also have an active food truck(see pic)

Seafood is fresh however the flavor is light, I had to put lime juice to give flavor. Service is friendly and fast though. Bring your Espanol they do speak broken English.

Their shrimp soup is good, that is the only reason I keep coming back to this place, but i must say their chairs, bathrooms overall restaurant needs to be remodeled, they also need to do something about that humidity smell, they should really take care of it.

Per the locals this is a great place to dine on fresh Mariscos, which is Spanish for seafood. Its important to note that many of the locals that shared this great advice were commenting about their experiences from over two years ago. Still, being that I like to discover new places we proceeded. The place is run down and since popularity has gone down so has the excitement of the restaurant and their employees. Though I do believe it is a family run establishment. The seats were in great need of a clean wipe down and some care from a leather expert. The booth we sat in had cuts in the seating and swallowed our bottoms. The smells coming from the kitchen were pretty bad and like the warning signs of a bad nail salon, we decided to leave. I hear there is another location which ownership may spend more time at perfecting. Perhaps things are better there?

Horrible. My family has been going to this place for years now and the one time we go celebrate my brother’s wedding 6 out of 8 people end with FOODPOISONING. Those 6 had ordered shrimp plates. Coincidence? I think not! CONTAMINATEDSHRIMP was what they ate. What’s worse, I went to speak to the owner to get our money back on behalf of our family and she was RELUCTANT to accept that it might have been her food that resulted in 6 people being sick. I got into a verbal confrontation with her, which I did not like and she proceeded to offend me by saying I was just after a free meal ticket. Very very rude and unnecessary. Nonetheless, our money was refunded but never in our lives will we continue to support this family business. Everything was great up until this point. Sad that they lost long time customers.

I like the flavor in their food, but I can understand when someone said” they serve two large side dishes as rice and potato salad and 6 shrimps or a small piece of fish. I meant it would be ok if the price was according to what people get, but for a plate of rice and salad and a few shrimps or a piece of steak I feel is is overpriced.

Not bad for a neighborhood place. Of the few here in the area, this one is the one I like. A few of the other spots in the area just aren’t cutting it. The mariscos Fundidos is really nice and just prepared right. And for dessert the flan is wonderful. Sometimes the music can be loud, but other than that, its a nice place to stop in.

I love, LOVE, love Los Delfines! The wonderful mother and daughter owners should be very proud to have such a great establishment! Congrats Latinas! Los Delfines has the BEST seafood in the Midway/West Lawn area! My favorite ranges from Filete a la Veracruzana, Mariscos Fundidos to Eterna Juventud and Stuffed Shirmp amongst the shrimp cocktails and the yummiest tostada botana ever! I’m a seafood lover and let me tell you I score these places hard! I definitely recommend this place over El Veneno, Islas Maria and other wanna-be places, no competition! The food is always delicious, the plates are huge, the display of the food is beautiful and price’s reasonable. It’s always a treat to eat at Los Delfines!
