I bought a Cha Lua(Vietnamese Pork Roll) today. It’s over a pound. Kids finished it in less than an hour. Their grandma often buys the sandwiches from this store every time she visits us. She knows we love them!

I love banh mi and these are definitely the biggest and some of the best ones I’ve had in the city. They do buy 5 get 1 free deals and are cheaper than Ba Le. I love the bread they use and could eat here once a day without having a problem. It’s just that good.

I’m really impressed with the banh mi(#13 — Betal leaf beef), fresh sugarcane juice, and that avocado shrimp roll here. The bread is hot, fresh and soft! All the food are fresh and the presentation is nice too. Plus, free parking helps too!

This might be the best banh mi in Chicago. Definitely a lot better than Lee’s in Cali, the ingredients were so fresh and I loved the mayo and pâté on the special!

Becoming my top Edgewater location for the freshest and most-valued bánh mì pâté ch tht(translated to a sandwich with pâté, Vietnamese sausage and other meat products such as pork belly) in town. I’ve been coming here for all my Vietnamese culinary snacks. I usually order the #1 which is the«special» sandwich consist of a variety of meats with shredded pickled carrots and daikon. Another plus is this place is located in a strip mall with plenty of parking spots and of course, if you buy in bulk — you will get a free sandwich.

Straight to the point: Squeaky clean restaurant Excellent customer service(A+++ for very nice staff) Delicious food(Suggestion: BBQ Beef Sandwich/fried bananas for desert) Reasonable prices Fast service(food was ready in about 5 minutes) Easy to access, right off the Berwyn Red Line. Great place for a quick bite, either on the go or dining in.

As a heads-up, the storefront for this place is located in a strip mall recessed off of Broadway. A Unilocal check-in here also gets you a nice fresh, warm, and excellent baguette. We were in area and dropped in to try one of their banh mi sandwiches and selected #8BBQ pork($ 5.45). We actually had it later after warming it up in oven, and it was generously sized and both spicy hot and delicious. There’s a lot of very high quality banh mi sandwich competition going on in this area!

I’ve tried a few bahn mi places in Chicago and LSB is by far the best. Had the Chicken and BBQ Beef and both are great. Cheaper and better than any place around.

These guys make some of the best banh mi’s in Chicago, and is the only place out here so far that I’ve found to be competitive with the best places in California. The baguette is done right – a shatteringly crisp exterior(that can only be achieved with high steam levels at the start of baking) and a light, not-too-dense interior. Too many places across the US have either a chewy crust or an interior that’s too dense and resembles an American subway sandwich bun. Here the bread is definitively a Vietnamese baguette – not a sandwich bun. Then there’s the meats and pâté. They clearly make some of the deli meats themselves, and the pâté is just right – not cakey, but a lovely velvety smooth spread. There’s a reasonable layer of pâté(I would prefer just a smidge more), and they definitely don’t skimp on the meat. I noticed that their cha lua(pork roll) seems to have much less MSG than everyone else, which is fantastic. There’s just enough pickles, cucumber, cilantro, and jalapeños to cut the fattiness of the meat. And the Asian mayo and splash of fish sauce help to further moisten the baguette and give an extra oomph of flavor. The price is fair – and their sandwiches are 50% larger than your typical banh mi. Everyone should try this place out and keep these guys in business!

These are absolutely the BEST bahn mi’s I’ve ever had in my life. I think the pâté/mayo combination is what does it. The fillings are so fresh. I had the original, and it came out to be less than $ 5! It is HUGE and very filling. The cilantro and daikon are also very fresh. Their head cheese is delicious and I loveeee that they do NOT skimp on the meat. Their dessert selection is also plenty and had a lot of variety — $ 2.50 each. There’s very limited seating so it’s more of a take out place for sure.

Little Saigon is a welcome addition to a slice of Edgewater that badly needs some good food. Located in a strip mall next to the Berwyn Red Line, it is a no-frills cheap, tasty banh mi shop. They also sell various other packaged Vietnamese food products, which other reviewers have covered. The BBQ Pork is delicious here and the sandwiches are very large for the $ 4 – 6 price range. And they happily accommodate my request for extra veggies! A great place that I hope does well and becomes a fixture of the neighborhood.

First things first: the bread is excellent! Always fresh, and soft on the inside and crisp on the outside. The sandwiches have a proper amount and balance of fillings, and the flavor stands out. I took Chef Mitch from Toro Sushi and he was very enthusiastic about the Banh Mi. He likes he BBQ beef. I like the vegetarian and the ham and egg. Lastly, the service is friendly and professional. I often call ahead so by the time I show up my food is ready, and my order is always right and right on time!

I like this place a lot! It’s kind of in a weird spot by the Berwyn station so you might not see it if you’re not looking, but definitely check it out if you get the chance! I like their banh mi better than the ones from Ba Le. They are also significantly larger, so you really get your bang for your buck here. The bread and meat are both soooo good! I only ate half my sandwich and saved the rest for later(it was seriously almost just as good several hours later). They also have a variety of Vietnamese desserts and drinks including sugar cane juice. If you’re looking for a cheap quick lunch, this is a place you NEED to go to immediately! I’ll definitely be back(a lot)!

I work nearby and decided to give this place a shot, boy was I glad I did. I decided to get the marinated beef sandwich and lived every bite if it. The bread was extremely fresh and soft while the meat was delicious. I

I happened upon this place randomly during my commute to the Berwyn station. I’ve since gone back again to get another round of sandwiches. I was curious as to a new Banh Mi as the staple in the area was Bale. I did the buy 3 get 1 free(comp on lowest priced sandwich) special. Round 1 I got the special($ 4.95), chicken($ 4.95), BBQ pork($ 5.45), and the pork belly($ 4.95). Round 2 I got the special, baked pork, betel leaf beef($ 5.95), and BBQ beef($ 5.95). Also you get a free plain baguette if you Unilocal check in. Overall the sandwiches were good and noticeably bigger(12″ versus 9″ at Bale — I actually bought a Bale one just to compare empirically). In the addition the bread was nice and fluffy with a good crust. Of the sandwiches, my favorite was the BBQ pork or beef — they taste almost the same with the seasoning, followed by the special. I was a little hesitant to get so many sandwiches as I was sure they would keep. Surprisingly the bread was still palatable the next day and not hard as a rock like some of the grocery store French bread. I just let it get to room temperature before eating as I was sure what the microwave would do to the bread. In addition, you can get your pickles and veggies package separately if you’re eating it later. Overall definitely worth trying again. TL;DR 12″ banh mi(33% bigger than Bale) Buy 3 get 1 lowest price free Free plain bread with Unilocal check in Try BBQ pork #8/BBQ beef #15

A hidden gem of deliciousness on Broadway Ave in Edgewater. Had lunch there today and enjoyed every bite! Crispy French bread, the great fresh flavors of the veggies and the savory meat… all great. BIG portions 2x the size I was expecting. The service was very nice and the sandwich was ready very quickly. It all adds up to me having a new favorite sandwich place. Lucky me!

So we had to run to get pet food yesterday and I have been looking at this new addition to the area last few trips over to Broadway and Berwyn This is a Bahn Mi shop they have around 15 different sandwiches they offer for $ 5 each that’s a lot cheaper than most places on Argyle and they don’t skimp on the filling you are getting a bigger freshly made in house baguette, with all the topping and lots of meat I got the Pork Belly and my Partner got the BBQ Pork they were both very good I just barely Finished mine and my partner saved half for later as it filled him up they also have all the stuff for sale to make at home if you so wish to do so, also they have Vietnamese puddings I want to go back and try the Banana one for sure and a few others sounded good too

I’ve tried a lot banh mi sandwiches in the area, and this one happened to be having their grand opening. This place is new in the area and it was a great find. I decided to try the BBQ beef sandwich and it was amazing. The meat in the sandwich was absolutely delicious. The bread is made freshly every morning and they just happen to make their own meat as well. If you’re in the area, I definitely recommend that you give this place a try — you will not be disappointed. The prices are also very affordable as well. This is the best banh mi place that I have tried in the Chicago area. I will surely be stopping by here again in the near future.

Was craving for some banh mi so decided to try this new place and boy did I strike gold!!! Bread is freshly baked and with just the right mixture of crispy crunch and soft filling on the inside. Split a couple with my friends for a variety and it was perfect. Top picks included the BBQ beef and Betel beef… you can definitely taste the freshness in the meats and the intricate seasoning they put into it. Definitely a thumbs up!

Finally! A well-priced Bánh Mi shop in little Saigon. Not only is it priced right, it’s legit and not westernized like some of the other chains around town. You can get delicious and spicy Nem Chua(think of it as pickled preserved pork, topped with a bird’s-eye chili and garlic), Che(desserts) and fresh sugar cane juice! Most importantly, the sandwiches are on point with a great variety and made with baguettes baked fresh daily(something that’s lacking at other joints). All of them are delicious so go wild. If you want a real deal Bánh Mi shop, look no further.
