I’ve been keeping my grandmothers vintage watch in a box for a very long time… it was pretty but broken and not in wearable condition. It was important to me to get it fixed and looking great so I can wear it! I could not be happier with the job that Mark has done! Not only did he bring my grandmother’s watch back to life but he was helpful and professional! A very pleasant experience and now that I can wear my watch I will definitely be coming back for a new strap to change up my watch!

It is always so great to deal with knowledgeable people. I wanted to purchase a gift for my boyfriend and was referred to Legend of Time by a friend. What a pleasure was it to work with them. Their advise to meet my budget was extremely helpful. The gift turned out to be a total winner. Thank you Mark and Vlad.

I wanted a Panerai for quite a while so I began looking about a year this time. I looked at quite a few stores on line in addition to a few brick and mortar stores. I came across Legend of Time after a google search on Panerai Chicago and saw the wonderful reviews on Unilocal,so I decided to stop in. I met Mark and the reviewes were on point. Friendly, knowledgeable, etc. I decided to buy a new Panerai 312 from Legend of Time. Mark matched the price of an online competitor and I was happy to have the watch I wanted! I received it and it looked great. Mark walked me through how to wind the watch, change the straps, general care, etc. Again, everything was great. Until a month later. After a month, the minute and second hand moved, but the date would not change. Upon seeing this I pulled out the knob, advanced to the correct date and everything was fine. Until a few weeks later when it happened again. I decided to take the watch back to Legend of Time. Mark took a look at the watch and asked me if I wound the watch between 11:00 pm, and 3:00 am, when it is performing the date change function.(He told me when I purchased the watch not to do this, to which I took note). I told him I had, which I was lectured about.(I will come back to this point later in the story). Mark took a look at the watch and said that everything seemed in working order, so I took the watch back home and was happy again for a few more weeks. Until the same thing happened. I returned to the store spoke with Mark again and explained the date function was not working and was again lectured on not changing the date between those hours listed above. I explained that I didn’t change the time at all and only wore the watch. This time he kept the watch so that the ‘watch maker’ could take a look at it to see if there was anything wrong with the watch. After a week or so, I picked the watch up and was told it was fine. They did not find any of the issues I had noted, so I took the watch home again. Before I left, I asked Mark what should I do if the issue happens again. He told me to gently pull out the knob and set the appropriate date and time, which is exactly what I did when I had the initial issue with the watch.(back to my earlier point) After about a month I had the same issue again, and I asked if they would send the watch back to Panerai, since it has a two year warranty. This time Mark was not present, so I left the watch with an associate of Mark’s and was told Mark would call me to discuss the details. I waited a few days and received no call from Mark. When I called him he told me the watch was sent out and would take 6 – 8 weeks to get it back since it was sent back to Panerai. After about six weeks, I received the watch and I asked Mark what was the issue, and he told me it just need a few minor adjustments. I said okay, took the watch home and thought the issue was resolved. A week later the problem occured yet again and I took it back to the store. Mark asks me again did I wind the watch durint the 11 pm — 3 am time frame to which I replied no. He asked what did I want to do at this point, and said they could send it out. That response took me by surprise since he told me they sent it out the last time. I told him I wanted a new watch as there is certainly wrong with that one. Which brings me to today. The last time I was in the shop was a week after Christmas and was told it may take a while to get a replacement as this is a popular model. Mark explained he would check with other stores and see what he could find, and he also told me of a watch show in Vegas in January as well as one in Miami February where he hoped to have some luck in finding a replacement. He could not make the January show due to bad weather here in Chicago and just got back from the February show which is what prompted me to write a review. I called him yesterday morning and he told me he would call me back once they have unpacked their merchandise from the show. Needless to say he did not call. This has been going on for quite a while now and it’s been very frustrating to say the least. Each time there has been an issue, I have had to reach out. If I don’t call I don’t hear from Mark. As someone who works in professional services I find this unacceptable. If you buy from Legend and your timepeice has no issues then I assume you will have one of the stellar experiences that other Unilocaler’s have had. If you have issues, you may get the other end of the spectrum as I feel I have.

Vast selection of watches, very friendly and knowledgeable staff, great prices. I was able to get a very rare Rolex at 25% off while most watch places couldn’t locate the watch even at full price. A++++!Highly recommended! Will definitely shop there again!

I met Mark over a year ago when i walked in Legend of time looking for a limited Chopard Alfa Romeo for myself, realizing there no more of those since all were sold. I left Mark my contact info and ditching the search. After about a year passing, Mark called and said he has the watch for me, brand new. 2 days after the call the watch was on my wrist. I’m proud to be the owner of this limited edition watch with my own serial number !! I got a great service from the people there and a great price. It was a pleasure all the way, just ask for Mark !!

I am not a serious watch collector, I buy only what I can wear and when my friend offered me to go DT to Legend of Time, I was still recovering from my recent shopping experience at CD P. at the Northbrook Court, where sales people made me feel uncomfortable and intimidated. But Legend of Time ROCKED! I spoke with Mark and he suggested a pair which i loved and purchased next week from my office! The point was to buy a piece that will not loose it’s value like a used car — but a special watch that has collector value. All of this at 25% –30% off retail stores! My friend, Miroslav had purchased a very nice Breitling for get this 40% less then he was quoted at the Las Vegas shop. Check them out!

If you want nice watches at a fair price, this is your store. I bought two Oris watches and these guys gave me prices 20% below the other store I went to on Wabash. Nothing beats trying the watch on in the store and letting the guy personally fit it to your wrist which is the kind of service you won’t get off Ebay — plus the prices are better. Bottom line, if you want a fine watch — go here.
