Best KFC in my area. Clean and staffed by capable polite and efficient staff. Location is an awkward corner with a pretty small lot. But service is very good.

Was refused service because I did not show my ID when using my credit card that had my signature on the back for a $ 6.00 purchase. Visa/Mastercards policy state you cannot refuse a transaction if a consumer does not wish to show their ID when the back of the card is signed. I wish businesses would read their merchant agreements. Just because your a franchise owner or owner of a small business does not mean you are above the law if you sign an agreement to allow MasterCard & Visa in your store you must follow their rules or face fines or risk having them remove their credit card machines from their stores. I will keep fighting this and reporting these types of businesses to Visa & MasterCard as it is my right not to have to show my ID. Also FYI it is also against Visa’s and Mastercards policy for a merchant to require a minimum purchase amount for a consumer to use their credit/debit cards.

It is what it is. On occasion I get a taste for KFC. I have nothing profound to say about the food. It is KFC … you know what it’s all about, just like doing the Hokey Pokey. The one thing that this particular KFC has that sets it apart from many of the others is a horrible parking lot. It is long and narrow and traffic comes from both sides, along with pedestrians. There are times when I have contemplated picking up some chicken and kept driving when I saw the gridlock in the lot. It’s rarely worth the effort.

I got the free chicken coupon from Oprah’s website. The chicken was tasty. Nice moist meat. Yummy. Only draw back is there were like 30 people in the place becasue I wasnt the only one there for free chicken. Service was good considering. Going back tonight for a fast easy dinner

It is fast food plain and simple. It is KFC! I am not expecting any major surprises here. My biggest pet peeve about chicken places is that they are most always running out and there is most always a wait for food. I have never had to wait very long here at all. I work really close by to this location so I bring home chicken now and then on the way home form work. There is a guy that works there and always seems to be there whenever i go in. He is not especially friendly, but he is the master of efficiency. He tries to get you in and out of there in the least possible time. The food is KFC good and I have never had anything old served to me. The staff is relatively friendly also. My only problem is that sometimes this place can get downright dirty looking and disgusting. However I can forgive the occassional dirtyness when I get that crave.

I’ve stayed away from KFC for a number of years now. With the recent free grilled chicken giveaway, I decided to give it a try. Any of you who know me are probably aware I’m like a rat who’s a sucker for the free cheese in a mouse trap. The KFC on Peterson & Kimball opened in late 2008. While it looks pretty from the outside, it has issues inside. First, the parking lot is indeed tiny and difficult to navigate. I agree with Jacob J. There’s no drive-thru lane, as it would mean no parking at all. I got there right at 11:30, before the usual lunch crowd shows up. Well, I was maybe in a line 8 – 10 people deep. In about 5 minutes, the line tripled in length. I noticed almost everyone in line had a printed coupon in hand. The few people who didn’t must’ve felt stupid for showing up in the first place. It began to look like a ghetto soup kitchen on Thanksgiving Day… or a toy store at 5AM on Black Friday. At KFC, I saw a school bus driver, a pair of CTA drivers, cops, heating/AC repair guys, college-age kids and even a homeless-looking guy with a jar of lollipops for sale. All came for the freebie. Ironically, this store was not prepared for it. There was one person preparing food and 2 people working the counter. To alleviate their people shortage, they took a dozen orders at a time, then stopped the line to fill them. So it didn’t matter if you were #1 or #12. You just waited with everyone else. They dished out the orders as a group and then took the next group and so on. Now the whole idea of this free chicken giveaway was to introduce people to this new chicken product or to bring back people like myself who stopped going to KFC long ago. I don’t think they succeeded. I saw a few people walk out and go to Popeye’s a half-mile away on Lincoln. Others crowded in and the line wrapped almost around the store by noon. It took me about 30 minutes to get my order. I felt sorry for the few paying customers who stuck it out. OK, so the 2 pieces of grilled chicken with the mashed potatoes, coleslaw & biscuit were a great freebie, but the workflow of this particular store was simply too chaotic and understaffed to move this group quickly enough. I doubt I’ll be coming back, even when the giveaway is over.

New store location, bad placement. The parking lot is narrow and quite difficult to maneuver when the parking lot is semi-full and other motorists are about. A drive-thru window would’ve been useful, although there isn’t space back there. No spicy chicken available. Since it’s still a new location I find that the counter staff are too new to really know the menu, so for example when you have a specific order in mind, they could get you into a better deal /meal deal, where you’d save some money. i.e. I was ordering a few side dishes for a holiday party, the total came to approx $ 17 dollars. At no time did anyone try to up sell me or offer their opinions on my order. After taking another look at the menu I realized I could’ve gotten a 9 pc box of Chicken with what I ordered and spent less money. Maybe it’ll get better. I wished they could have saved some of their staff from their old location, few blocks east on Peterson. If you check out you can print out coupons.
