One of my favorite places to go. I’m not an adventurer here so I always get the Club Supreme, Mikes way with mayo and bacon. The meat always tastes lean and fresh and the bread is just the right amount of filling. My complaint with sandwich places is that I feel bloated, but I can honestly say I’ve never felt bloated from a sandwich here. Whenever I have been here, the workers behind the counter are extremely friendly… even when it gets super busy, they always manage to get a smile on their face and it seems genuine. Super props to the staff here. This Jersey Mikes feels like any other Jersey Mikes. Cement floor, with benches and the tables are a bit small. There is plenty of room though and I actually do enjoy eating here.

So I tried this because my friend said it was super good. So instead of my usually subway I got a sandwich from here. I wanted to get a footlong because I wanted to have enough for dinner later. But I was pleasently surprised that the footlong was actually longer then a foot! It was a lot of sandwich for a good price.

Oh Jersey Mike’s… I had so many good memories of you when I was living in ATL. You used to be right by my office and I would love your sandwiches… that is until I tried other sandwich shops in Chicago. Jersey Mike’s is a big step above subway but not yet at a Hannah’s Bretzel level. I tend to get their hot sandwiches; my personal favorite is the cheesesteak with onions & peppers. YUM. That sandwich is bomb, the other hot ones I’m not a big fan of. I recently tried the chicken parm sandwich and the chicken was kind of gross and chewy. This shop is right by my office and tends to get pretty packed during lunchtime so I would definitely try and get in around 11:30 to beat the rush. The sandwiches are reasonably priced for the amount of food that you get, I can barely finish a normal size sandwich based on the amount of meat that they give you. It’s definitely worth the price.

One of the worst lunch places I have been in the loop. For almost $ 8 chicken parm sub all I got was bread stuffed with tomato sauce, shredded Parmesan and a big piece of fried chicken in the middle. Disappointed!!! Tasted more like cheap pizza in a roll.

The Philly is very good, nearly as good as Philly’s Best. The turkey sub is also tasty. Ordering is a little hectic but not so bad. I didn’t expect much(from Jersey?) but was pleasantly surprised. They have regular freebies and good discounts if you join their club.

Great staff! Friendly helpful and pleasant. I went in yesterday w my GF close to closing time but they gave me all the time we needed. I will definitely be back to enjoy a great sandwich made by great people!

I have never in all my many days seen an 8 inch meatball sub made by quartering 1 meatball. They try to compensate by overloading it with sauce. Meatball was not very tasty and the sauce was bland. I will go back but I will try something from the cold side of the menu.

When I began working in the Loop almost two years ago, I had never eaten at a Jersey Mikes. Nothing seemed appealing about it. Even though it was in my same building, I wrote it off entirely. Then last year’s brutal winter came and forced my hand. Now I’m there every 2 – 3 weeks. I used to like all my sandwiches hot and toasted. I could force down a Jimmy John’s sub but I never craved it. I think it’s the freshness of the bread at Jersey Mike’s gives it some texture; it’s not chewy or grainy. Or it could just be that I like their«Mike’s Way» preparation — putting oil and vinegar on a sub is a life-changing discovery. Their meats and cheeses are fresh and cut with a deli slicer on demand, not pre-sliced, and I think it makes a big difference. I almost always go for the turkey sandwich but occasionally mix it up and order a hot sub like the Philly. I haven’t found anything I don’t like yet. It pays to be a frequent customer of Jersey Mike’s. The Shore points program earns you free food and they always give out free chips and drink cards. Between that and Unilocal deals it’s consistently the most affordable lunch I can have in the Loop. Their customer service is very good at this location. I’ve only had one time when the line got unnecessarily long and one time when my order was missing something i asked for. Everyone is always very friendly here as well. There’s ample seating but I always take my food to go. I very rarely have my expectations exceeded, especially by a chain, but Jersey Mike’s has won me over; I imagine I’ll be Duke here until I change jobs.

I contribute my weight gain to this place :) I use to go here all the time and get the #3 breakfast sandwich(Sausage, egg, an cheese) on a plain bagel. I haven’t been in a while, but I missed this place so I paid them a visit this week. Breakfast sandwiches will run you $ 5.50(price increase from the last time I visited), but are pretty good. Reason for the 3 stars is because I’m not a fan of their lunch selection or sub sandwiches. Breakfast here is good though. Plenty of seating and if you go during the summer there is outdoor seating.

Brings me back to my roots in Jersey. The no. 13 Classic italian is the BEST. Eat here once a week, always having a craving. Love this place. The only thing that sometimes erks me is that they work too fast and dont pay enough attention to what you ordered and ask you several times because they are trying to keep the line moving. SLOOOWWW it down, and pay attention to what each customer asks for.

While in town, and working from the office, I stopped here with a coworker for lunch. I specifically sought it out because I MISS Jersey Mike’s delicious sandwiches(which are, oddly, NOT available in New Jersey…). Décor: Pretty standard here and not much to say as it’s a JM’s. It’s clean, well lit, inviting, and there are a decent number of tables. They also have outdoor seating, which is solid. Bathroom: I did not use it during my visit. Staff: They are speedy and friendly, what more could you want from a franchised deli? Food/Drink: The sandwiches are great, I love them. I had the classic Italian and added a few extra ingredients. The sandwich was made right in front of me and to the exact specs I wanted. It was fresh, the bread soft, and tasted delicious. Value: Your dollar will go a decent way here and you can get a solid lunch for pretty cheap. I will always come back to JM’s because they definitely know how to make a sandwich, and quick!

They really have something here with fresh sliced meat. My Italian sandwich was delicious and meat quality was well above subway, and even slightly better than jimmy johns! However, this high-end technique results in long lines. Sometimes I stop by, see a disastrous line and high-tail it it Mr. Submarine. Has anyone else noticed that the building has weak AC? Seems stuffy in here. Meh. Jersey Mike’s handles the condiment game well. Lots of lettuce and onions, with an oil/vin sauce applied heavily. The pickles were actually high quality and not that over salted over processed garbage. You can do yellow or jolly peps to round things out. Jersey Mike’s does bread right too! You can tell its fresh, and their herb and cheese just destroys subway. So my advise? Check the line, check the heat, and if conditions are right you should pay them a visit.

Ok, so I decided to go back during lunch after looking over the menu online. I actually got in the right line this time and actually GOTFOOD! Staff was ok except I got yelled at to repeat my order by someone behind the counter a few mins after I gave it to a person who took the orders in the hot sub line. I wasn’t expecting that. Again, hearing loss in a loud place makes it difficult to know when someone on the other side of the counter is talking to you. Food was decent for the cost.

They aren’t horrible… The employees are friendly. They have decent coupons?! Ok, ok… I just wasn’t impressed. I am always excited when I find a good sandwich that is flavorful, fresh, and reasonable for the quality. Meh. I had a coupon, so I tried it. I’m definitely more of a Jimmy John’s girl, when I’m looking for quick, cheap sandwich fix during lunch — but hey, I’ve never been here before so I figured maybe I was missing out. I got the #7 Turkey Sub — which is apparently one of their best sellers. I decided to ‘live it up’ and get it «mike’s way» — which includes lettuce, onion, tomatoes, vinegar, oil, and spices. It was fine — I could have probably made myself a better sandwich, but it was convenient. It was very messy, lettuce and onion falling out everywhere and the oil and vinegar made it drip everywhere. The bread was ok, the turkey wasn’t horrible — but I will say that the red vinegar really did add a nice, unique flavor! (They also wanted me to join their mike’s club rewards club or something — which always annoys me at places. You can’t force customer loyalty in that way. Either your product deserves it and it happens, or it doesn’t.)

Not sure what the big deal is about this place, it seems like a regular sandwhich joint to me. Hero sub sandwiches. Eh, I’ve had better. Plus, they’re over-priced if you ask me.

This place is awful! The ordering process is chaotic. Maybe that property is cursed because Salad Spinners was just as bad. I ordered a mini chipotle turkey sub and side of cheddar broccoli soup. It took almost ten minutes for my sandwich to be made and it didn’t even have any chipotle mayo! During the process, the employee dropped the spice shaker on my sandwich, quickly removed it, then proceeded to finish without asking if I’d like a new one. I saw what ya did there, lady! I requested fresh vegetables since I was in a hurry and didn’t want to wait another 10 minutes. The woman behind me in line nastily goes, «Ummm they are wearing gloves». Yes but who knows where that shaker has been! It took the lady five seconds to put new tomatoes on so it’s not like I was holding up the line. The cheddar broccoli soup was absolutely digusting. The taste was off and the texture reminded me of… loogies. Slimy, blobby and horrific. I tossed it. Sandwich was ok but bland… nothing that would make me come back. I did get my meal for free because their system was down. The next time I want a sub sandwich from a chain I will trek over to Subway or Mr Submarine!

Okay. So, Jersey Mike’s looks like a great lunch spot in the loop — and they are conveniently open on Saturdays as well. I do not know anything about it so had no prior knowledge before stepping in. The service was very friendly and they were knowledgeable about their sandwiches. However, they are SO slow. I can’t imagine coming here during my lunch or it would be spent all in line. I understand that they slice your meat and cheese when you get there(which is great), but they have to tweek their system to make it work faster. Also, my boyfriend had the regular turkey on white and it was sub-standard. I, however, got the turkey club on wheat and it was wonderful. Their white bread is too much bread, but I think the wheat is a bit thinner. The bacon was also perfectly crispy and just the right amount. It is a real good value. Bottom Line: It’s A-OK and I’d come back(sans rush hour).

I have a co-worker that swears by this place. She claims Jersey Mike’s possess the best subs ever made. She told me this place is a staple in the burbs… I never heard of it Due to a lunch scheduling mishap I had a chance to check this joint out. Got there before a long line formed and was greeted by two employees. One I got near the register another girl greeted me by asking to take my order. I told her I had never been there before and I needed to look at the menu board. I noticed they had a turkey provolone sandwich(a #7). They have 3 sizes: small, regular and giant. I decided to have a regular #7. They have 2 lines: Cold Sub Line and Hot Sub Line. I was in the cold sub line. Once in line after you order, the very friendly sandwich making staff will ask you if you want regular or Mike’s way. Mike’s way is tomatoes, seasoning, vinegar, oil and a gang of lettuce. The bread was very soft and was the star of the sandwich The sandwich itself was ok, but I have had better. I will go back and give their sandwich another shot at some point

I know there are a lot of Jersey Mike fanatics out there, so let me just start by saying… no, I’m not from the Pine Barrens, I’ve never seen an episode of Jersey Shore in my life and when I heard of GTL, I thought it was a type of medicinal ointment. I do, however, love the Sopranos and sandwiches… and I’m willing to love Jersey Mike’s. Listen, in Chicago, we have just about as many sandwich shops as we do World Championships in anything… which is to say, a few. We stopped into Jersey Mike’s for lunch to give it a try and see what made it different than any of the others. For one, they slice the meat and cheeses right at the counter, deli-style. I thought that was a nice touch for a sub place. So the ingredients were very fresh and tasty for a fast food joint. They score an A for the ingredients. The sandwiches had a couple of different takes(bacon on the roast beef), but in general were close to the standards you’d find anywhere — i.e. an Italian grinder, turkey, roast beef, etc. B on the creativity. My other big gauge of a good sandwich is the bread. JM’s was soft, but fell apart pretty quickly when handling. I’d give it a C. Price-wise, it was a little expensive. Nearly $ 9 for a regular sub and chips. I wouldn’t say that’s out of control for the Loop, but when you can get a better sandwich in a neighborhood joint for a couple bucks less, that gives them a fat C. So, overall, Jersey Mike’s was tasty, but didn’t blow me away. I’m sure I’ll stop in again at sometime, but for the most part I’ll remember that smart Chicago acronym: GTC. Go To Costello’s.
