This is simply a review of their teas — I haven’t visited the company headquarters on Carroll(although I’m wondering — do they sell to the public there?) Ineeka is the real deal. I was introduced to them at a holiday fair at Goose Island, and was surprised I hadn’t heard of them before. Rare Tea Cellars is my top choice for tea in Chicago, but Ineeka I think has surpassed them. They don’t have as many options as RTC(no Lemon Meritage!), but the quality of the teas is superb. There’s no middle man — this company owns the farms, dries the leaves, and packages them to sell straight to you. Everyone associated with the business is friendly authentic about their enthusiasm for tea =) I’m a purist and love their Darjeeling, Himalayan Black, and Mint. I’d say my one complaint is that they don’t distribute to many stores, but knowing what I like, ordering from their website is a cinch. Support local growers and small, family owned business — drink Ineeka!

I was at Swim Café in Chicago for an Ineeka Tea Tasting. I think I have a new favorite tea. Ineeka Tea was founded in 2005 however the Goel family has been growing tea 1861. The family has about 12,000 acres in India and Ineeka in Chicago, where the company has it’s headquarters, gets regular shipments to package for the American market. This is a video of Shashank Goel talking about Ineeka Tea: Ineeka Tea is 100% organic and Fair Trade-certified. Ineeka Tea also practices biodynamic agriculture, which means they are environmentally responsible as well. At the 2006 Fancy Food Show Ineeka Tea’s Spearmint Lavender, an herbal tea, won Best Beverage. A list of Ineeka Teas is at: This is a video of the Inkeea Tea — Brew-TachTM: Todor
