Great coffee. Try the honey nut latte! Not cheap here but good quality and it’s nice to support a small shop like this vs the typical Starbucks. Breakfast sandwiches look good, will def be back to try more!

Just ordered delivery and I was less than impressed. We ordered two 16 oz coffees and received one 12 oz and one 16 oz(it WAS still warm, which I was worried about) We also ordered two usual suspect bagels. They tasted pretty good; however, I ordered mine with avocado and instead of that it seems they just had extra cream cheese — such a mess. Probably won’t order from here again but it was still decent!

This place was cool. They serve coffee which is an american drink made out of beans. I drank the coffee and it gave me energy to write this review. I would have given hero a 5 star review but it was cold outside and they refused to change the weather to a temperature i would enjoy more.

Decided to stop by after Pilates down the street. We are new to the neighborhood and trying to find a new coffee shop to love besides Sbucks was at the top of our to do list. Everyone was friendly and their lattes are soooo good! I love that they offer almond milk and decaf too. I also ordered the veggie on a jalapeño cheddar bagel… yummmmmm!

This HERO is like Mighty Mouse. Small but super! There’s not much in terms of space, but on the sandwich and latte front they’re definitely deserved of wearing a cape. Great breakfast sandos, and for lunch the Pacific Bird is a must do. It’s got incredibly fresh fixens and succulent hand cut bacon that’s lives up to the nickname the candy of meats. The coffee is fresh and they sell it by the bag in case you want to brew it at home yourself. Altogether I love this place and it probably goes to show that a coffee shop prompting you to sing that song by Enrique Iglesias can never be a bad thing.

I stopped in to grab a quick lunch while working in the neighborhood. Ordered a Pacific Bird sandwich and a coffee. The sandwich was ONPOINT. You definitely get your money’s worth. Lots of turkey, bacon, chock full of perfectly ripe avocado, ripe tomato, pesto mayo, on delicious bread that wasn’t too dense but still managed to contain all the deliciousness. The coffee was great too. Went with the Columbia medium roast. It’s a cute little café with friendly and chill staff. Definitely worth the trip even if you’re not in the neighborhood.

I walked in when my car wouldn’t start and thought the prices were a little high until i saw the sandwich. One of the best 8 $ dollar sandwiches I’ve ever had and they definitely are not shy with the meat. Very friendly staff as well. I will be back!

A small, quaint coffee shop in Roscoe Village that does not disappoint. The café latte was fresh and delightful. If you are in the mood for donuts, they also carry Glazed and Infused donuts. The maple bacon donut is amazing. The shop is more of a morning place as the afternoon hours are limited. They have seasonal favorites as well such as pumpkin spice and honey nut lattes. I will definitely be back again. A local favorite!

I hate to write a bad review, but my husband and I went in to order separately and each had similar experiences. The staff was just rude and seem to be bothered to have to wait on people. In addition, you have to walk through the kitchen to get to the restroom, which is just uncomfortable. The food and drinks were nothing to write home about. We will not be back.

I’m so happy this place opened so there’s an alternative to regular ol’ Starbucks on our street! Hubby loves their coffee, and I’m glad they have drinks with almond milk since I had to temporarily quit dairy. I love the honey nut latte. And the best thing about this place is they sell Glazed and Infused Doughnuts!!! Now the maple bacon bar is just blocks away rather than a drive. The place itself is small and can get cramped quickly especially if there is a line. The space is not really conducive to staying long, and the one bathroom is in the back near the kitchen. We usually take our orders to go.

Not a bad spot to hang at and never really busy. Its a pretty good cup, and I think that with all the options out there, this is a good one for my morning cup. I like my coffee fresh, with a pronounced roasted flavor. HERO seems hit it with the freshness and the overall strength of the brew. I will confess I am a Starbucks coffee patron but not a loyalist to the chain and do like to change things up. The baristas here are so kind, and I will be coming back for sure. Have not tried the food here yet, but maybe next time.

If you’re in Roscoe Village and you’re heading up the street to get some thrifting done Village Discount, stop by Hero. The caffeine served me well in my deep plunge into the depths of preowned clothing. Some notable things: 1. They have a donut with a strip of bacon on top??? 2. I usually don’t like iced coffee, but I was all about theirs. 4. Cute little shop in a nice location. 3. Service was fast and personable. Barista did kinda make fun of us for smelling like patchouli(hey, my band was touring, we get limited showers), but I probably would have made fun of us too. Will be back next time I’m around Roscoe!

Finally! Great coffee shop in the middle of everything Roscoe Village. Staff is friendly and accommodating. The sandwiches are great and made to order so expect a couple minute wait. Great pour-overs and the cold brew they make is awesome. They have Glazed and Infused donuts but have a limited amount and are served on a daily basis. The only downside is they close relatively early amongst other businesses on the street.

Finally tried some lunch goodies today. The sandwiches are fantastic! I seriously love this place. The Redline and Central Coast sandwiches were really tasty– I loved them both. Highly recommend. The music selection here is great, the lavender latte is my favorite(iced or hot are both equally delicious), the people who work here are cool folks, and the atmosphere is perfectly adult-like for getting some work done.

Same song and dance as the Dearborn spot. FIVESTARS, count em. Roscoe Village doesn’t have to settle for Charbucks any longer. This time of year calls for alfresco coffee drinking, you’re in luck b/c the patio here is perfect. Décor is similar to the Loop décor, although I can’t get a full feel for what the end product will be as they are still pulling the place together. are you ready for this? they are roasting their beans in house now too. they offer a class to take about roasting, not sure what thats all about, but Im going to try to sign up. Staff…awesome. Sheridan and Gina… they will take care of you. Oh and did I mention they have Glazed and Infused… enough said. Welcome to the neighborhood Hero.

Great place to study! *They have an outdoor patio in front of the shop *It’s quiet inside *Drinks are awesome(tried 3 so far: iced chai, black cherry iced tea, and the honey nut latte) *Staff is very outgoing and friendly *The owner is really nice *Located in a «hip» neighborhood(Roscoe Village) and the list goes on and on… I’m really happy that a friend of mine told me about this place. I even ditched my old study spot and decided this one was a better fit for me. Hasta mañana, HCB!

Local business with great coffee. They grind the beans for your coffee/drink on the spot –pour hot water over and let it sit. Takes maybe a few minutes longer than getting a black coffee at Starbucks but in my opinion it tastes way better . While you wait you can have a seat(one big wooden table, bar seating at the window and two two person tables) or grab a glazed and infused donut or a bagel-today they had a fig bagel with fig jam that sounded interesting! There’s FREEWIFI and a cooler full of sodas, some juice and chobani yogurt. My large(16oz) coffee was 3.59 or around that. So it’s pricier in that way but I do feel like it’s fresh yummy coffee. They also had a honey almond nut latte I think it was called with almond milk and honey which I want to try next too! Ladies working we friendly-one a little spunky and one really sweet. Both said hi as I walked in and seemed to be well educated about their product(which I hate when the employees can’t tell me about their coffee or anything) go check it out!

I stopped in as I wanted a switch from Starbucks and figured this would be a good alternative. I wasn’t immediately greeted as the person working was chatting with another customer — which was fine but if it were busier, that wouldn’t have been quite as ok with me. I thought that the coffee was ok — a bit more bitter than I like but still pretty good. I will say, though, that for an identical sized and same ingredient order to what I get at Starbucks, it was over $ 1 more expensive than Starbucks. For a decent taste which I didn’t think was better and a more expensive coffee, I wouldn’t specifically seek this spot out over other area chains(and local spots). I also thought that behind the counter wasn’t organized well and seemed in disarray(stuff just piled, a charging cell phone, etc. The floor also had coffee grounds around and while this isn’t totally unexpected, it seemed messy and as it was early, I wouldn’t have expected that much disorder to start the day.

Love this place. Finally a decent coffee in Roscoe Village! I buy their freshly roasted beans at least once a week, and they are fantastic. The staff are all really friendly, and they even have stuff to entertain kids(markers and paper).

The coffee needs improvement. The light roast was weak. Light roast doesn’t mean that the coffee is semi-transparent. Use more coffee or pour the water slower. Other withdraw-the bathroom and back area. Just a mess. And empty fridges… Nope. Very nice service on the other hand.
