Helendora Samuels Picture Framing

I had a terrific experience at this framing store thanks to the great care and professionalism that Tommy and Helen have toward their work. I came to the store all the way from Hyde Park after purchasing a Groupon and Tommy worked with me to find a good price for the three frames I was requesting given that I am a student and was on a budget. I am really looking forward to seeing the finished product in a few weeks and highly recommend this store for those who are looking for a great experience for a good price.

Talk about customer service! I felt like I was dealing with a business from back in the day that cares for their customer and wants them to be happy. They are very proud of their previous work (and some amazing work it is). The piece was for my daughter, the woman worked directly with her, showed her the different materials, what would work best, etc just talking to mom since mom was paying. They were a bit slow in delivery of the frame, but I had also told them I wasn’t in any hurry. I will definitely be taking my business back to them.

I had a very nice experience with this company. It was the first time I had something framed but the final product is so beautiful, I’m considering getting more things done.

Just a quick follow up on my experience. They ended up finding what I was looking for, a swing frame of sorts. And as I was looking to buy online or build one myself this saved me time, energy and money. Great Neighbors and the store has a vibrant energy as Helendora and Tommy have such genuine warm energy for what they do and how they meet the people who come into their lives, not just as business owners but as conscientious human beings. I will be back for my framing needs and certainly recommend them to friends who are looking for such services. Thank you guys!!!

The people are very friendly, and great at haggling to help you get the best price. One of the things I like best about it, is there so hands on, and your opinion matters. They listen, unlike some places you go to, they are so sure of their work they don’t listen to what the customer is asking/​saying.

I honestly don’t understand how this place gets 5 stars! Went there to frame two pieces relaying on Unilocal reviews and hoping for the best. It is a huge disappointment… and expensive one!
First off, they were playing with prices and making us feel like we are getting a discount (while still paying $$$) when they never really told us what is the actual cost of service.
Second, we were originally told that turnaround time for one painting is 2 weeks and the other one will be ready a week later… Guess what — we got it 4 weeks later!!! They were changing time of pick up 3 times!!! Their excuse was that they received wood (white color) with a black line on it and had to wait for another shipment. Ok… I can understand it… but it sounds like a complete bogus because the final product had a black mark on it!!! It’s small but it’s not what you expect to get when you are getting a brand new thing, paying big buck, and waiting forever!
Third, the frame edges are scuffed and don’t look anything like a professional work! I think 5 year old would do a better job. Btw, while selecting frames, we were shown a thank you letter that is almost 20 years old! It’s like if I start to include my kindergarten workbook when applying for a job that requires a master’s degree.
And most important part, we were given such a poor guideline selecting a frame, that final result doesn’t compliment the painting — it makes it look flat. Now I have to look at it with disappointment every single day. And it’s not like I can just go and drop another $$$ for a frame!
I went to a different frame shop in the past but unfortunately owner moved to a different state and I know what kind of service and quality one should expect when paying so much money. I have more paintings that need to be framed and I never go to this place again and wouldn’t recommend to anyone!

Never wrote a Unilocal review before, but this place deserves all the credit it can get. I just picked up my framed canvas print and it looks fantastic. You can tell it’s done by someone who truly knows what he’s doing an actually really cares about your painting. Tommy & Helendora are also very kind people and I felt welcome from the moment I stept foot in their store. Keep it up guys, you are awesome!

The owners are so very helpful and so very charming! They go out of their way to help you make a good selection for your art work. I am on a tight budget and they really worked with me to help me get a numbered Grateful Dead poster framed for my son at a reasonable rate. They offered to repair some damaged spots at no extra cost and overall were so friendly, helpful and welcoming I could not imagine getting framing done anywhere else now that I have found them. You can see that the work is high quality and they are very customer focused. No hesitation in recommending them!

Great results for our custom framing project couldn’t be happier. We had what we wanted in our minds brought in our picture and they helped show us the best way to achieve the end product. Also recommending the antiglare glass. Great price also, forget the chains this is the place to go.

First, it is absolutely impossible not to love the owners of this place. I do not think in all my life I have met more kind and loving people. Secondly, their work is perfect! We had a picture that needed framed, obviously, and the job was done perfectly and on time. What else can you ask for. Absolutely recommend!

Wow, I was super happy with my frame and the work done by Tommy. I bought a unique painting for a friends wedding and Tommy picked out the perfect matting and frame for me that was within my price range. Great job and on time for a wedding deadline I needed! A+ work!

UPDATE ¹⁄₁₃ — Picked up all 3 framed prints after the holidays. Couldn’t be happier with the work. It’s amazing what good framing can do for your artwork. You can tell Tommy and his wife are really passionate about doing great work and thats a beautiful thing (almost as beautiful as the work they do).

After recently buying some prints I was considering buying off-​the-​shelf frames for them as I was working on a budget. I hadn’t even considered custom frames and visited Helendora’s to see if they had any off-​the-​shelf. In the end I walked away with 3 perfectly framed, custom prints at a good price and they were completed in an incredibly tight timeframe. Tommy worked to my budget and times. I’m really pleased with the outcome and would recommend to others. Customer service is outstanding :)

I don’t have the greatest experience with framing services. I worked at an Aaron Bros. in college and have only gone to such outlets in the past. My wife and I brought in a picture that needed matting to go into a frame she already owned. Tommy spent a lot of time and care with us to make sure he got the colors just right to compliment the picture and the frame. It’s rare to receive such great customer service, Tommy and Helendora really couldn’t be any nicer too. As I mature, and purchase more items that need framing, this will be my go to spot.

I stumbled upon Helendora Samuels Picture Framing by chance, noticing it while being out for lunch one day. After some online sleuthing it was very clear that this would be the place to go for quality framing. They definitely lived up to the hype that I read.
From the start, Tommy and Helendora made sure that I got not only the right frame for my pieces, but at a deal that was fair and affordable. I feel that if I didn’t find the good service that I did, my posters would still be rolled up in my closet instead of hanging in beautifully crafted frames.
When the other options are their DIY cheap plastic frames or expensive framing, it is clear to go with Helendora and Tommy’s work. They both have a friendly demeanor and a visible passion about their business.
