My experience with Hana Dental seemed like one drawn out episode of boiling points. For the disappointing exception that instead of me being rewarded $ 100 for put up with their shenanigans, my insurance company got billed $ 200. I came in here in September 2011, appointment with Dr Sayeed Mohammed. A sweet receptionist called me an hour earlier to see if I could come in 30 min early, I agreed and hopped out the door immediately. Upon walking in, it looked as if someone sewed raw steaks into half of the waiting room chairs and let a pack of pit bulls loose; dirt on the walls, filthy, stained floor, and to top it all off, a piece of printer paper on the window as a sign for the practice. I should have walked out right then. Oh, why didn’t I walk out? I soothed my anxiety with a deep breath and a calm thought«all doctor’s have to start out somewhere» and nuzzled into one of the lesser destroyed chairs. I ended up waiting in that room for an hour, 30 min after my regular scheduled appointment that they had changed on me. I came in, while he had a ‘dental assistant” I use quotations for the sole fact that this girl did nothing but explain to the doctor on numerous occasions how the water worked during the cleaning which he conducted, she must have not done a good job; by the time I left I also had a full face rinse and the top 25% of my shirt was drenched in water from the cleaning process. I also received x-rays and was told that I needed at least 4 or 5(I guess he wasn’t sure) cavities IMMEDIATELY. «Cavities…» as he condescendingly explained«are holes in your teeth that you must plug up immediately» He concluded I must eat sugar. Of course I eat sugar. I am a human freaking being. I also take proper care of my teeth to prevent a normal American diet from having grave effects on my teeth. Hence me never having a cavity before at the age of 23. At this point, I did not trust this guy. I scheduled an appointment to purchase my x-rays back from them. Though they named the time, I showed up and due to fault of their own I had to wait another week so the doctor could sign off and bus it over there once again. I waited until today to write this review. For today I treated myself to a competent dentist that didn’t solely want to drain my wallet and insult my intelligence. I just received confirmation that while I do have slight tooth decay on 3 teeth, it hasn’t eroded past the enamel and can be completely reversed naturally through proper care and more frequent, in unison everyone«flossing». Now that’s some sound advice I can get behind. I give my 1 star to that sweet receptionist. Please, don’t make the mistake I did. Take one look at those chairs and follow your heart.
