Bought my gold wedding band here today. I went to 3 jewelers and Giovar had the best selection and prices. Took 15 minutes to get the ring sized and I was out with ring in hand. So easy and no pressure at all!

Giovar Jewelers is absolutely amazing! Helia is the sweetest, and a must-​see when you visit the shop. My fiancé and I were certainly not used to the world of custom jewelry, and felt a bit intimidated. Helia put all of our fears at ease and made the whole experience such a joy. We left with the most beautiful rings at such a great price!

Sunny is amazing. He is so helpful, honest, and patient. No pressure or shady tactics here, the entire staff is just great. I would strongly recommend anyone looking to purchase any type of jewelry to come here and ask for Sunny. I will be going to him for all future jewelry purchases and work.

After a year of having my wedding band, I decided to change it to a different style. I sent John a picture of a ring and he was able to recreate exactly what I wanted. First he made me a sample in silver (so I could see how it feels on my hand and next to my engagement ring) and then, a week later, made a new ring out of my old one (and added one more diamond). Couldn’t be happier! You guys rock! Thank you some much!

I was referred by a friend to Giovar when I was looking to buy an engagement ring. I was really impressed by the owner John and Helia who were very patient with me and very knowledgeable. They weren’t pushy at all and went out of their way to make sure I get exactly what I’m looking for. I searched for a while before buying so I know their prices are also very competitive. I just received my ring and they did an amazing job! I’m so excited because I really took my time to pick out the ring and it couldn’t have turned out any better. If you want an experience where you’re treated kindly from a jeweler who wants you to be happy with your purchase and makes high quality jewelry at a good price Giovar is the place.

They are the best. My engagement was made at another jeweler who did good work, but took about 3 weeks longer than they promised. Not wanting to continue working with them for wedding bands, we went wandering and found Giovar. They made a custom band to match my unconventional engagement ring, and my husband found a tungsten band he loved. My band was made from scratch within a week and it was reasonably priced. This would be good enough to warrant this review, but this weekend the center stone fell outof my engagement ring (where I could find it, luckily). Again, not wanting to deal with the original jeweler, I went to Giovar to have the stone reset. John not only remembered having made my band over a year ago, but he secured the stone as soon as he arrived at the store at no charge! The fact that he would be so helpful with a ring he did not make makes me a customer forever. Thank you, Giovar.

So, we weren’t exactly super prepared for our wedding.
Neither of us really like to shop for jewelry. I never had dreams of buying rings together. He dragged me to Kay Jewelers as a joke, and it was painful. He tried on rings with skull and crossbones at a fair we visited. It was all really funny until we realized we needed them in 48 hours and had no clue where to get them.
After securing a marriage license at Daley Plaza we wandered over to Jewelers Row (Wabash) of which I’d heard about, but never visited. Keen placement here, don’tcha think? We were contracted and ringed in the same afternoon. No doubt, a plan by the city and the jewelers?! :)
So I pulled up Unilocal and we popped into the Wabash Jewelers Mall, which consists of about 8 separately owned and operated jeweler counters and then a Halal food counter in the back. Hmmm, in case all that diamond buying gets you hungry? I suppose. We didn’t eat but we did buy rings!
It took me about 5 minutes to pick mine out. I wanted a super skinny pave band to match my existing ring… and found it at Giovar Jewels under the excellent view of John and his assistants. They were really helpful, no pressure, easy to work with and extremely pleasant! They even polished up my engagement ring for my impending nuptials and sent me off with my ring wrapped in a gift bag.
My guy ended up going elsewhere, but John made every effort to find him a band he might like as well.
And, it was extremely affordable at $ 400. Down the way, over $ 1k. Done and done.
Highly recommended, I walked out with a great wedding band. Now I type all of my reviews with Giovar Jewels. ;) ha!

I purchased my future wife’s custom wedding band from here. Working with John was a pleasure, with no pressure. Prior to purchase, John had a mock ring made for sizing and appearance.
Anyone at this location will work very hard to make sure that you are satisfied with end results.

The jeweler here knows his stuff. He custom made my wedding band to fit with my unique engagement ring, he got the exact art deco engraving I wanted on the ring. He has a variety of cheaper materials too. Great prices, really easy to work with.

I purchased my wedding band from here. Working with John was easy and no pressure. I got a simple white gold wedding band and love it. I would recommend him.

We found John by pure chance.
The story:
We had been looking for a wedding band for my husband for about a month and a half. With 2 weeks to go until the wedding we had to make a decision.
He had found a ring that he loved (at a jeweler next door to Giovar Jewelers) but they told us they could not size it, nor make it…
Again, with 2 weeks to go a jeweler on Devon said they could make it… I went back to the neighboring Jeweler to get more pictures — and now they said they could make the ring…
Anyway, The jeweler on devon never called us back! So we went to the «neighboring» jeweler to see what they could do for us.
On the way, my husband just stopped into the jewelery mall to take a peek.
I met him there…
I will honestly say for the small space that John has, he has by FAR the biggest selection and range of men’s wedding bands I have seen. Most places seem to stick to one style, but John has something for everyone!
We decided to have John make us the ring we liked at the neighboring business… but he did mention a ring he had in my husbands size, very similar to what he wanted. He told us he could give us a deal because it cannot be sized… and it was special ordered, the people put a deposit on it and never came back…
Long story short, we went with the ring that was already made and we are very happy.
Then a few days later my ring came from India (the engangement ring was made there also) and it was totally F’ed up.
I stopped in and asked John if he could perform miracles… once he looked at the ring he said «not that kind of miracle»…
But I left the ring and engagement ring with him and said «do what you can»… TWO DAYS later John had made me a wedding band that was perfect. He said «there are a few imperfections, and it fits better on one side»…From his experience it wasn’t perfect… but personally it was exactly what I wanted. He used the diamonds from our old ring, and gave us credit for the metal.
My Opinion:
After going to countless jewelers and being given the used car salesman deal… John was great.
He tells you what he thinks is best, but is totally willing to do it how YOU want it. He doesn’t try to change your mind. He knows what is best from a jeweler’s point of view, but he knows that its ultimately what you want. It was very relaxed and friendly, not like the vultures at some other stores. When I came in to pick up my ring he was sitting behind the counter finishing it up.
John also seriously values your business like some of the larger stores don’t. He was willing to meet us after hours to let us see how the wax renditions looked before working on the rings.
Seriously, it was very refreshing shopping here. John even gave me a «gift» for the wedding!
Our only complaint was that when I picked up my re-​done wedding band he had told my husband $ 290, but told me $ 300 when I came in to pay. I decided not to make a big deal about it because I was so impressed with the magic he worked in 2 days. (My husband was less thrilled that I didn’t say anything, but I just considered it a tip for service well done!)

My fiancé and I got exactly what we wanted from John at Giovar. When we first started out our search, we were looking elsewhere for rings; we hadn’t seen what we wanted at «the industry leader.» We also didn’t like the attitude with some of *ahem* «the industry leader’s» salespeople (— when I say I don’t want diamonds, I want someone to respect that, not hand me a letter from the CEO assuring me that their diamonds are fairly acquired).
Anyway. The folks at Giovar. Were. Nice. They are so nice! They listened to what we wanted, which was admittedly very simple, and they delivered with a calm sort of joy. Aw. We liked that.
We wanted an inscription inside the ring but we wanted it in Arabic, and that was no problem. The jeweler was even able to proofread the engraver’s work for us because he’s a polyglot like that. (Imagine the little Dutch orphan girl speaking Dutch with Santa Claus from the 1947 film «Miracle on 34^th Street» and you will imagine my delight at our jeweler’s linguistic ability). I was also delighted that the rings were ready for us in a couple days.
We haven’t had our wedding yet. But I know my fiancé and I are both looking forward to wearing our rings. For anyone looking around the wholesale jewelry district, these guys are gold. (Oh my gosh. That was so cheesy. I can’t believe that just happened. My apologies. But seriously).
