When I was looking for an engagement ring a few years back I asked a friend where he got his. His grandmother’s ring was from Gemcraft many years ago, and his family’s been going to them ever since.
He and I stopped by Gemcraft one day, my friend introduced me to Chuck, and we chatted in his office for a bit before the conversation moved to what I was looking for and how much I was looking to spend. I’d already done my homework in terms of the vocabulary, but Chuck showed me some examples of how the different qualities of a diamond work together in person to affect the appearance. As I was in college at the time, I couldn’t afford both a large stone and a vibrant one, so I decided to trade some size for vibrancy and clarity, as the latter is the quality that diamonds are sought after for. What’s the point of springing for a diamond if it doesn’t pop? The stone I ended up using was from an old pair of earrings Chuck had in his collection.
The ring my wife wanted has a stripe of tiny diamonds from 9-​oclock to 3-​oclock. Chuck had the inset diamonds chosen to match the color of the primary stone, and the result was exactly what my wife was looking for. Once the time came to get our wedding bands made, Chuck had the band made to match the engagement ring. As if we weren’t already very happy with our experiences, he added a personal touch that you will never get at a chain: he let my wife borrow a necklace to wear at our wedding.
I have nothing but positive feelings about the process of buying what was at the time the biggest and most important purchase I’d made. I’d recommend Chuck and Gemcraft to anyone who is looking to make a jewelry purchase, and will return when I’m in the market for something special. A good group of people giving the kind of personal attention that you can’t get online or in a big chain store.

After another appointment looking at diamonds downtown, I stopped into Gemcraft completely on a whim, and I was so glad that I did. I spoke with Chuck, who is the most upbeat and helpful of salesmen I worked with during the whole process of finding a diamond.
Even though I’d walked in completely unannounced, Chuck was happy to talk with me about what I was looking for in a stone, and took the time to get to know me a little as well. Within a couple of days, he was able to get some stones in for me to look at in exactly the size, shape, clarity, and price range that I was looking for.
It was at this point that I was even more impressed with my experience at Gemcraft. Chuck was extremely helpful and patient with me, as I spent a great deal of time poring over every aspect of each stone that we were examining. He was happy to walk me through every different type of lighting situation possible, even bringing me back to his office to look at it under fluorescents and out of the shop to the window in order to examine the stone under the daylight.
In the end, my decision came down to a stone from Gemcraft and from another jeweler, and it was only after seeing them next to each other that I was able to decide. I chose the stone from the other jeweler, but rest assured, it was not due to anything other than a personal preference with both in front of me.
I’m extremely pleased to have met Chuck and will certainly be looking forward to seeing him again in the future when I have to go searching for jewelry. I can’t recommend them more, and I suggest you go see them when you’re looking for jewelry, big or small.

Let me start by saying, location and people are something that can make or break any business.
When it comes to diamonds and jewelry, there is always a chance of getting taken for a ride when it comes to the unknowing customer.
Chuck and Mike are the greatest guys in the business. They do not try to up sell you or over sell you. When you come in, they get a feel for what you like and bring you just that. There’s no BS, no games and they can make anything work. Even custom jobs. They remember you years later and will not let you get ripped off, even if you bought it elsewhere.
I recommend them to everyone looking to buy better than mall jewelry store crap. Parking can be tough, but worth the garage, or just circle the block a few times, spots always open up. And if you are just picking up, they will come to you curbside.
