This place rocks! The flavors burst and feel healthy! Try the coconut shaved ice, it’s a delicacy! Smoothie was amazing too!!!

I loved this spot! I stopped by to share a dessert with my boyfriend Thursday night when we were in the area and it was such a pleasant experience. The store was run by a very kind woman who gave us a sample of ice cream with guava shaved ice, which was delicious. However, I wanted something tangy so we opted for the tamarind shaved ice with mango (it had a name, I promise, I just forgot it) and chamoy sauce. It was the perfect balance between fruity, tangy, sweet and spicy! I could definitely eat it for days. All of their smoothies looked really good as well — I hope I get a chance to return one day. I felt like their prices were reasonable, given that they use a lot of fresh fruit, but I can also see why other people weren’t such a huge fan of them.

Strangely enough, I first came into Fruit Paradise to pick up a package. UPS left me a notice that my package was left at Fruit Paradise and I needed to pick up there. I found that super strange but apparently it’s a pickup spot for people who aren’t home. It’s definitely more convenient for me seeing as it’s just down the street from me. Plus, I can partake in some of their tasty treats when picking up.
I’m so glad I was routed over here as it’s been a great spot to stop for some goodies without feeling like I’m overindulging. I’m trying that healthy living thing currently. :P The shop owner/​worker is so kind, so eager to help… she gave me many free samples to try my first time in. I have to say everything is so friggin good! All of their ingredients are so fresh, they have truly unique (many Cuban?) desserts, and amazing juices. The juice has huge chunks of fruit in it~ nomz! Plus it’s a great value for your dollar.
Support your local business! Stop into Fruit Paradise… get treated like you count… and walk away with your belly (and wallet) thanking you!

A solid 4-​stars for the cutest «hidden gem» I’ve found thus far in Avondale, and perhaps the only combination kids’ bookshop/​cold sweets/​empanada/​coffee stand I’ve ever stepped foot in.
On first glance, it’s hard to tell what the main emphasis is. There are colorful decorations and kids’ literature for sale; a full menu of shaved-​ice, ice cream, and smoothie confections (many of them in the Mexican-​Caribbean style); a selection of empanadas and other salty options; and decent coffee (not quite up to specialty/​snob level, but better than the starry mermaid).
In the end, it’s mostly just a cute, Chicagoan riff on the little shops you might stumble into somewhere along a Mexican or Caribbean coastline. It doesn’t quite reach the level of 5-​star «exceptional,» for me (and the prices seem a dollar or two too high), but it’s worth a visit if you’re in the mood for a colorful, tasty treat and the sensation of having left the country for a minute.

The two times i have been here have been great, the woman gave us samples because we had no clue what to get. And the second time it’s just the fruit delicacies are so amazing I don’t understand why they would have a bad review,. Great everytime so far I have been there and plan to go back.

I am glad I found this cute cozy place. Even with the winter months, I am still in the mood for ice cream for myself and kids. I am particularly in love with their acai bowls. I used to go to the PEELED place in Evanston, IL not only was it over-​priced but the staff was rude and the owners did not really care about customer satisfaction. At Fruit Paradise however, the owners are very personable and really want to please the customer. Everything is fresh and done with a friendly attitude. The prices are reasonable and you can bet you will find something you will like from this little snack place. May I recommend their empanadas.
I love supporting small businesses as these especially when the owners truly are true advocates of customer satisfaction.

This place is awesome!!! I absolutely loved they’re pitaya bowl. Filled with fruit, granola and my favorite dragon fruit. Yum, must go back and try the rest of their menu!!!

Best snack shop in the neighborhood! Sure, there are other neveria in town, but this cute little shop has the most extensive menu and friendly staff who will answer your questions and made substitutions at your request. Lots of flavor choices, lots of interesting combos. Ingredients are fresh and delicious and everything is made-​to-​order.
This is a true «mom and pop» shop which are so hard to come by these days. The owners are behind the counter everyday and they really care about their work.

Great fruit juices, bowls and empanadas! Awesome customer service. Totally recommend this place for a refreshment and quick snack. Also, prices are just right.

We stopped here after eating out at a Mexican restaurant nearby. We didn’t know what to expect and we were pleasantly surprised! The people working there are extremely friendly and offered us samples and recommendations. They offer smoothies, ice cream, sorbets, shave ice, and even empanadas! I had the «Gloria» shave ice and it was delicious. It had bananas, vanilla ice cream, strawberries, and shave ice. We also tried the brownie split… amazing!
They had a lot of options which was overwhelming at first, but the people who work there really help you figure out what you want and will let you try anything. The shop only had two tables, but everything comes in a throw away container so you can take it outside. There is also a little play area for kids. Overall it was a great experience and I will be coming back!

This place is literally Paradise!!! Customer service is the best!!! They let us try a lot of their flavors being first timers to get an idea of what we wanted and let me just say, everything we tried was so delicious! It will have you begging for more! We had their Empanadas, sandwiches, the mangonada (the best one we have had this far) Their Gloria Raspanieve (First time ever trying this and it was the most amazing thing I’ve tried ever) and their creamy iced coffee which was the best coffee I’ve had! I definitely feel like I just walked out of paradise. Not to mention it’s such a hip place, so cute and cozy! And they are open late! I will defiantly be coming here forever!!! Kudos Fruit Paradise! Wow this place is great !! What a hidden gem I almost don’t want to rate it so high might be longer lines later lol. The products are fresh and are delicious!

I loved my peach sundae… actual peach fruit with banana ice cream, topped with whipped cream. It’s near a park and burger king. I can’t believe it’s been there for over a year! While supplies last, for each purchase, there’s a voucher for free bowling at Waveland bowl

Not only is the food and ice cream amazing, but so is the customer service. They let us try everything before we ordered. Also, they have this genius idea of serving ice cream on top of shaved ice so it stays colder longer.
