This place is great whether you are going for their huge brunch buffet or for drinks and partying. I recently went for my birthday on a Friday night and their beverage director was SO great. He made sure everything was taken care of for us and the waitresses were all on top of it making sure we never had to ask for a drink. Great service, music and atmosphere. Would come back again very soon.

Very unpleasant experience. The staff was not only rude, but also unresponsive. I would not recommend this place to anyone if they see a line. Wow! Never going back.

I recently had the opportunity to dine at the fabulous new Fremont which opened this past December. It took over the short lived, American Junky location which in my opinion was doomed from the beginning. The Fremont is the newest addition to the Four Corner Tavern Group’s arsenal of successful bars and restaurants throughout the city of Chicago. This new establishment features everything from fine dinning, live DJ’s, delicious craft cocktails, a brunch buffet and so much more. This past weekend I was able to indulge in all the great things the Fremont has to offer. We decided to stop by and see what all the social media hype was about. As tacky and cheesy as this sounds I’m a huge sucker for buffets. I don’t care if they’re Chinese buffets, Old Country Buffets, pizza buffets or breakfast buffets. It really doesn’t make a difference because I do not discriminate when it comes to these fancy troughs of food, I love them all. Hundreds of different dishes to choose from, endless amounts of food, zero wait for your entrée to be cooked. I mean honestly what’s not to like about them? That was rhetorical. So you get the point. I like buffets and I really like Brunch Buffets. The Fremont’s buffet is stacked with the essentials to make everyone happy — Seafood Towers, Waffle Bar, Doughnut Vault Tower, Smoke Brisket Station and a generous omelette station. Wasting no time I bee lined it to the seafood towers. And no that is not a typo you read correctly, SEAFOODTOWERS. I stuffed my pie hole with oysters drenched in ice cold mignonette sauce and huge shrimp. Something my roommate pointed out about the shrimp was that they weren’t flimsy nor too small. They were firm and chilled just right. After stuffing my face with all sort of ocean treats I made my way over to the waffle bar. I’m not a huge sweets guy but after the amount of salt I had just taken in I needed to switch it up a little. The waffle bar was stacked with all sorts of toppings like whipped cream, black berries, chocolate chips, strawberries and anything else to give diabetes. After taking down two generous plates full of food I dragged my fat ass to the carving station where I got a small serving of the brisket. Was I full? Yes, but at that point I was determined to hit all the food groups. On my way back from the carving station I snagged a delicious cake doughnut from the vault which was the icing on this extravagant brunch buffet. I gotta say that the cocktails could have been my favorite part of this meal and truly gave the buffet a run for it’s money. Something I didn’t mention earlier is that the servers made it clear they weren’t going to let your mimosa’s hit empty. Being big drinkers we had heard this spiel before and it usually ends with two to three refills if you’re lucky. Well our server wasn’t wrong and they probably filled our mimosas every 5 – 10 minutes. It was like they were around the corner watching our table for the mimosas to get low. By the end of brunch my roommates were drinking straight champagne. Which isn’t a horrible thing. During this whole mimosa fiasco I was creating quite the monstrosity at the Bloody Mary bar. The server brings over your choice of vodka and after that it’s your job to create your own Bloody which is my expertise. The Bloody Mary bar has every topping you could imagine — thick cured meats, all types of pickled vegetables, huge mozzarella eyeballs, foot long jerky sticks and anything else to raise your blood pressure. If you’re looking for a good cocktail the Fremont is where it’s at.

Fantastic food. You must try the chicken platter with macaroni and cheese, waffles, cole slaw. Can easily be split. There was at least 6 pieces of moist, hot chicken. My husband had the hot ham and cheese and loved it! Great new place.

Only had a few dishes and cocktails but everything we had was really good. We had great service both nights we stopped by. Really attentive and friendly bartenders each night we came by. We saw a few dishes come out that looked really good. We will for sure stop in to try other dishes.

I’m only giving five stars because that’s the highest value allowed. But this place needs needs 25 stars. Holy balls the food was amazing. The waffles melt in your mouth and he porterhouse is cooked to perfection. Drinks were on point, and brownie soufflé was unbelievable. Definitely a pleasant surprise! You won’t be disappointed.

I came here for my birthday with a group of friends and I couldn’t have had a better experience! We came here for Chicago restaurant week and everything we ordered it was absolutely spectacular! The manager specifically came to the table and wished me a happy birthday. we’re definitely coming here again. The group order the porterhouse, fried chicken, and the lamb chops, and each were equally as delicious.

Terrible service. No serving spoons in any of the apps or shared platters. Freezing cold, wore my winter coat the entire dinner and was shivering. The music was way too loud during dinner time that I couldn’t hear half the conversations at our table. After some pretty average food we waited a good half hour to get our check. There is no reason for me to go back there with all of the other great options in this city.

Seafood Tower. Waffle Station. Bloody Mary bar. Omelets made to order. And mimosas. This was my first time at Brunch at Fremont, and it won’t be the last. The food was off the charts. There was such a big variety for everyone; I mean there was a meat carving station with brisket and sausage. There was a salad area and coffee with different flavors. Craziness! All of the wait staff, cooks and hostesses were top notch. They kept a smile on their face and made sure my group had everything they needed. Instead of just being there for brunch, we ended up finishing brunch on the first floor, and heading up to the second floor to chill and then had more food as the morning turned into the evening. Great location, tasty food, and awesome service. Definitely will return!

Orange mimosa — YES. Pear honey mimosa — YES. My mimosa glass was almost empty — OHNO! our server exclaimed as she quickly hooked us up with more champagne… I went to the brunch buffet and it was awesome. If you feel some type of way about buffets that makes you hesitant to go, this place will completely change your mind. The food is fresh and delicious. And there are a lot of great things to choose from. Omelet bar, waffle station, carving station, seafood tower, and some delicious salad options. The atmosphere is great and the staff was super friendly and attentive.

The Saturday brunch is amazing!!! Our server, Amanda hook me up with the best Bloody Mary. It was a meal by itself. Andy, one of the managers was always around to make sure our table was well taken care of. The food was incredible as well. Besides the basic eggs and waffles breakfast items there were smoked ribs, brisket, sausage, shrimp and oysters. Our party if 6 arrived at 11:30AM and didn’t leave until 6:30PM. I totally recommended Fremont… you will not be disappointed.

Definitely the highlight was the seafood tower. It was unbelievable. From the presentation to the variety and freshness. Muah. Staff are amazing. So friendly, and fun. Also the vibe in here is great. I’d say a classy casual. But if you haven’t had the seafood tower I would highly, highly recommend it. Again, just wow.

Came here for a relaxing Friday dinner after work. Great service, even greater food. Had the apple and pistachio salad and the seafood tower — both delicious. People were friendly, space was open and casual, but still trendy. Highly recommend!

I went here for Saturday brunch with a large group for my boyfriend’s birthday. We really enjoyed it here! The brunch buffet is super good. It’s not your typical bar brunch buffet. There are so many choices including an omelette bar, waffle bar, seafood tower, donut tower, carving station, charcuterie area and lots of fresh juices. All the food I had was delicious. Most of our table did the bottomless mimosas brunch deal. They don’t skimp on the unlimited concept — we got a bottle of prosecco at the table that so we could refill our own drinks as we went(although the servers usually beat us to it). Service was great. Our waitress was really friendly and made sure we were taken care of. My water and champagne glasses were never empty. They even brought out a beer with a sparkler for my boyfriend’s birthday. It is on the pricier side for brunch, but it’s in River North(that’s just the way it is around there). We honestly thought it was worth it for the great food, drinks and service. We will be back!

I just had brunch here as part of their New Years Eve package. It was fantastic! Truly. It was not at all what I was expecting from a buffet. Options were plentiful and quality was high – everything was fresh and well-prepared. The buffet includes an omelette station, salads, a well-stocked bloody mary bar, fresh waffles, carving station, shrimp and oysters, desserts, and a sundae bar with toppings galore! Everything was amazing, with the kale salad being a particular stand-out. The staff was friendly and attentive… coffee cups never ran dry. Options for bloody marys and mimosas for additional fee. It was a great experience!

Awesome daiquiri, not your typical tiki bar drink. Great porterhouse steak, 32 oz to share with the table. Friendly wait staff and nice change from the old Junkie. Upstairs followed dinner with a great open space. This place will win if they treat their guests with respect and not like the pretentious doormen at clubs in that neighborhood. Looking forward to spring when they can open that roof!
