Uninspired New Mexico cuisine with painfully slow service. On a recent Friday night, the place was half empty, but it took an hour for them to bring out my salmon and my date’s fish tacos. The ambience is weird since none of the artwork goes together, and the lighting is so sparse that you can barely read the menus. So disappointing!

We love Flo in West Town but this one… not so much! There was only one other table with customers yet the service was quite slow. Started with guacamole. The chips were cold and the guacamole was darkened like it was made days ago. Then chicken enchiladas, cold. Rice & beans were cold and the steak tacos were poor at best. We were so disappointed. We will never return!

Always great to try a new brunch place; always disappointing to have a completely lackluster experience. Flo seemed promising. Reservations? Brunch cocktails? Fruity Pebble french toast? Sold! We went with our baby and a couple of friends and were seated immediately. The restaurant is larger than it seems like it would be and it is pretty open, which is nice. Our stroller fit easily. There were lots of families. That’s where the goodness stopped. It took 10 minutes to get a menu, which we had to ask for. We ordered quickly, since we were hungry, and proceeded to wait nearly 45 minutes for our food, watching other tables arrive after us and get served before. A couple of us ordered bottomless mimosas, which were only $ 10, but our glasses sat empty for most of the meal. Our waiter was pretty frazzled, and he got more-so as the meal went on. Towards the end, when we asked for a refill and he kind of sighed, my friend remarked, «He’s done for the day.» He definitely was; he was checked out. Our food did finally arrive and was lukewarm. The chilaquiles were good, but they weren’t the best I’ve had in the city. The french toast was delicious – we had two kinds at our table. My wife got the chorizo scramble and thought it lacked flavor, but it wasn’t terrible. Had the service not been so poor, we probably would have left with a more favorable opinion of Flo. However, when considering our full experience, we all agreed that we’d be unlikely to return.

Brunch! Bottomless mimosa or bellini! Fantastic huevos Ranchero and chilaquiles with mole’. Looking forward to trying dinner! We will be back, love brunch!

Came in on Saturday night and sat in their enclosed patio. It was very sparsely populated and pretty drafty. Ordered a margarita which was so-so. For dinner I ordered a combo platter special. Looked dicey — I tried convincing myself just to eat it but it wasn’t good. …and at $ 16 it wasn’t worth swallowing. I’ve had better tasting frozen dinners. So I apologized and sent it back — the waitress didn’t like that. I then ordered the burrito thinking that the simpler the better at this point. The waitress never came by to ask if my food was okay. She just seemed annoyed by us at this point. She didn’t ask if we would like another drink either. This is one of those new neighborhood places that you just want to like but it’s just not that good. Probably better options out there.

Went here on a Saturday night at 9pm. The place closes at 11, we walked in there were two tables occupied, and the hostess said to pick a place to sit. We were in the front dinning room and every single table that wasn’t taken was covered in dirty dishes and greasy paper table clothes. After we sat down at the only clean table the waitress told us that the kitchen is closing early tonight and we only have 5 minutes to place an order or we can’t eat. This was after we just ordered drinks and an appetizer we wanted to much in the app and then place an order after our drinks. Since we weren’t feeling the vibe of this terribly set up restaurant we left. Never coming back.

All I can say is green chile enchiladas with an egg on top. I don’t think there’s another dish in lakeview that can top this. I’ve been a fan of the Chicago Ave. location for years, but am so excited to have a local outpost. Have also tried the egg white omelette which is delish. Looking forward to being a frequent diner here.

The food here was pretty good – we used to come to this place all the time when it was Fiorentino’s, and today we decided to try out brunch at Flo. My only complaint was about our server. The food – smothered burrito, chilaquiles, and French toast – was awesome! But, they uphold the bottomless Mimosas, and we decided to indulge, but we often were sitting with empty drinks for 10 minutes at a time in a place that was not at all crowded. At one point, the manager came over and got us new drinks because our waitress was MIA. When we finished our meal, but we’re still drinking and talking, our waitress brought us the check and we ordered another round. We never asked for the check, but when she closed out, she was more present than she was all meal. When I asked for one more mimosa, she said no because we already closed out, even though she never asked us if we were done or wanted the check. So, make sure you do not pay your check or ask for it until you are DONE with bottomless mimosas, otherwise, they will refuse service. Good food. Bad waitress.

Easy side street parking. Made reservations right at opening on Saturday morning. Ordered Fruity Pebbles French Toast even though I’m more of a savory person. My friend ordered the chorizo Mac and cheese and we spilt the biscuits and chorizo gravy with two over easy eggs. Everything was beyond delicious and the presentation was good. Found this place on Pinterest and I’m so glad I finally came. Can’t wait to go again! Yum yum yum!

I’m so excited to have Flo in walking distance from my house! I have been a fan of their Chicago Ave. location for a long time and found this location to live up to its original. I have now eaten brunch there 3 times with my 17 month old daughter and each time the servers have been very accommodating to my daughter with fast service. It’s hard to find a delicious spot to eat brunch where I don’t have to wait with a toddler. Flo is delicious AND kid friendly! I hope they stick around.

Nice new brunch addition to West Lakeview. Came in on a Sunday at 10am and it was busy, but still able to get a table without a wait, which was nice. This is in kind of an unassuming store front along Ashland, so probably doesn’t get much foot traffic, but the good news is plenty of parking if you need it as I’m sure you can just sneak in the Jewel lot right across the street(but be sneaky so you don’t get towed!) Atmosphere is clean, understated, nothing too special. But they do have a specials board that had some bellini’s and chilaquilles specials for the day. The menu is a nice change of pace from your typical brunch spots with everything having a Mexican twist… breakfast burritos, huevos rancheros, chilaquilles, etc etc. Definitely a good variety that will make it easy to come back frequently and try different things. Especially since I was feeling pretty boring on my visit and just opted for the Flo combo, which was just eggs your way and breakfast potatoes with your choice of bacon or sausage. I also got some pico de gallo on the side, which was really good. Heavy on the cilantro, if that’s your thing… which it is for me. The bacon was really good, had a nice maple sweetness to it. Scrambled eggs were pretty standard and then the breakfast potatoes were just ok. They are covered in a seasoning, but sadly not the most flavorful. I think they need to cook them some more so that they start getting some of the crispy edges, which in my mind is the key to some quality breakfast potatoes. These were just like meh cooked chunks. My dining companion got one of the chilaquilles options and really liked it, I didn’t try it, but he was definitely in the clean plate club. Service was nice and attentive, frequently refilling our coffees and waters. Prices are quite reasonable as well, think my breakfast was only 9 bucks. All in all I’d be back as the food was solid and the menu has a great variety. Nice new brunch spot in the ‘hood!

Wednesday night — half price Margaritas. What a nice surprise! We ordered too much and enjoyed every bit and sip. We started with guacamole and the sopapillas, then had enchiladas and carnitas tacos. We will go back, both for dinner and brunch.

I would give this place one star but I bumped it to two because they have a little bit of potential. Pro: — the menu looks good and has some exciting items on the menu. — they are accommodating(they let us get a smaller portion of a menu item for our child) — there is a nice amount of room in the dining area. Cons: — the food was not cooked. My wife ordered a burger which was delicious however the egg on the top was only partially cooked. I know the egg is supposed to be funny but the whites on the top were translucent and uncooked. Not under done. Not runny. Raw.) — the table next to us sent three of the four entrees back and the fourth person did not send hers back because it had already taken an hour to get the food. They sent the food back because it was under cooked. One of the entrees had cheese that was not even melted. — my salad was barely edible. The greens were not as advertised on the menu which was disappointing. The salad was extremely salty. — we originally ordered the club sandwich which they did not have the ingredients for. — one hour wait seated to served. So overall I would not come back. I anticipate a lot of meh reviews until they get their kitchen in order. Hopefully they will get their s*it together or they will not last in Chicago’s competitive restaurant scene.

The new Flo location is great! I went here the other week for an after hours event and had some awesome food. Their margaritas are delicious, not too sweet, and quite strong. The chicken enchiladas are fantastic and the salsa is great. Amy was a fun and entertaining host and we all really enjoyed our time there. Can’t wait to see their patio in the summer time.

3 stars but I am willing to try again. For starters, the table my husband and I were seated at was very unsteady. When the guy came to fill our waters, I said– this table is sort of unbalanced, do you think there’s something we can put underneath to help? «No.» — walks away. Um, thanks. So we basically had to make sure not to lean on the table at all, or if my husband was cutting his food, I had to hold the table steady. Wtf Flo? I probably should have asked to move, but I didn’t. Re: food– husband really liked his benedict. I thought my enchiladas were good but the rice and beans on the side were sorely under-seasoned. No salt in anything! I also ordered the hatch green chile on the side(extra $ 1) and I did not see what the fuss was about. It had no flavor other than heat– no acid, and no salt, again. It just tasted like boiled chile peppers. Pass. We shared a smaller order of the cocoa krispies crusted french toast– I guess when I thought«crusted,» I wrongly assumed they’d be crusted before it was cooked… like in the actual crust. But this was just big pieces of french toast, with a thick layer of krispies stuck on top with syrup. Not bad, but just not what I was expecting. It was like eating french toast with a side of syrupy cocoa krispies. The french toast itself was quite good so I might get that(plain) again. Server was nice and prompt to refill coffee. I had a hot tea and he offered add’l hot water without me asking for it, which I appreciated. I liked it but didn’t love it, but maybe I will next time.

I had an awesome experience at Flo’s original location on Chicago Ave and was SO excited when I heard they were opening another spot in Lakeview! Came for brunch on a Sunday around 11:30 am with a group of 4. They weren’t very busy which was SWEET because I waited quite a while at their other location in the past. My group was boring drink wise but my friend said the coffee they serve there was quite good. Foodwise, we did the fruity pebbles french toast, cocoa pebbles french toast, smothered burrito and the bacon chocolate pancakes. Oh my goodness everything was amazing. The burrito is filled with eggs, chorizo, black beans, cheese and salsa but is perfectly soft to where you can cut it with a knife. Both the green and red sauces are really good; the green was hotter to me but the red had a more powerful flavor. The encrusted french toasts are out of this world. I’m a little more partial to the cocoa pebbles but you should try both at some point. Pancakes were great as well. I’ve been to a lot of the great brunch places around Chicago and Flo is one of my absolute favorites. The dishes are creative, large and fairly priced. Most of the brunch entrees are just $ 10! Awesome, awesome place. I literally want to come back to this location every weekend until Lakeview folk start turning up in droves.

I highly recommend Flo. We went for brunch today and everything was delicious. Our group ordered Bloody Marys, egg dishes, burritos, french toast, chocolate/bacon pancakes and I forget what else. All good and well priced. I can’t wait to go back and m delighted to have them in the neighborhood.

My husband and I went here last night with our son for dinner. The place is really cute and we loved the back area seating. We really had no issues with anything except our server which is why I have to take a few stars off, even though everyone else tried to make up for where he failed. I want to point out the good first to not deter people for what I’m hoping was a hiccup in the service. We had the flochos which were the version of nachos. My husband had the steak tacos which were delicious and cooked to perfection. I had the vegetarian burrito which was packed with veggies. It also comes with a side salad with beets. I enjoyed the food, the chips had the right amount of crisp. I did notice that on the nachos after you got past the top layer the cheese wasn’t melted and so you just were scooping the toppings(shredded cheese, beans and corn) on the chips. Not a big deal. Overall the food delivered. My husband did order a margarita and we thought it was a little odd it came out in a pint glass. Now to our sever… We sat down and there were only four other tables. No one approached us for 15 min, we finally asked the manager if he grab someone for us. Our server came over and simply said, «I don’t know about your server, but I was just told to come over here.» Interesting introduction. The manager did comp out nachos which we though was really nice, but unfortunately the poor service was a theme throughout dinner. He barely came to our table to check on us and at the end of the meal I asked to have my food boxed up. He said ok and left… 5 min later as he is serving another table he looks at us and grabs my plate to be boxed. I honestly thought the whole time he was bringing a box to me. It was odd. Then he brings me two checks one for our wines and the rest for our meal forgetting to comp the nachos. His explanation was that he couldn’t ring everything on one bill. That’s a first in my book. However the corrected check was on one bill. Then he disappeared again and our bill was finally cashed out by a different server. He did however almost run us over on the way out to grab the bill with tip. No thank you that was said by yet a different server. I’ll tell you I am probably one of the more patient diners, but a server who doesn’t care and is more than willing to show it gets me every time! I can’t wait to go back and request not to sit in his section, except I don’t know his name because he never introduced himself.
