Firehouse Steak and Lemonade

I always get Philly steak extra meat and a soda! Every time delicious. I prefer regular fries to what ever they have but it’s consistently good. Since fire & ice decided to close its now my go to when I want a Philly.

Had this delivered through grubhub and it was sooo good. Simply good food and good prices.

Customer Service at an all time low ! I placed a delivery order from here on Friday at 9:56pm through Grub Hub. I ordered a philly chicken & a gym shoe. Only 2 sandwiches !!! I got a text at 10:53 advising the order was on the way and should arrive between 10:55 and 11:05. 11:15 I pleasantly called the restaurant and was advised that the order was on the way. I dozed off, it’s now a little before midnight & still no order. Advised again order was on it’s way. So after 12, the 2 sandwiches and fries that took over 2 hours to arrive are freezing cold, Since fries are no good re-​heated, that was an entire waste of time & money. Never Again will patronize this business. No apologies or anything about the delay !

Terrible customer service! We called the restaurant 2.5 hours after ordering our food to check in, figuring the delay was due to Chicago weather, and they told us our food hadn’t even been prepared yet and it would be another hour! Then we were put on hold before they hung up on us. Extremely rude! We called back half an hour later and asked to have the order cancelled and we were told that we’re now on their «block list.» The food I’ve had from there has been fine, but I can’t handle such rude and terrible service.

My food was good but omg! The people that works there! They are rude uneducated black women! Don’t know how to speak to people just know how to give attitude. Had to tell a young woman about herself.

One Friday afternoon, I had a taste for something different. So I ordered the boneless wings and a taco salad. When the food arrived, it was cold… period. The boneless wings were good even though they weren’t even lukewarm. The French fries were limp and cold as well. The taco salad contained old hamburger meat that looked as though it had been cooked long before I ordered. The salad dressing in the package they sent was runny and old. I would not order food from here if I were you. If you insist though, I would order in person and see it before paying for it.

I was FEENIN’ for some frozen lemonade, so we just stopped by on the way back to the house. Nothing outstanding — ordered the lemonade (sugary as sin), steak tacos (barely seasoned meat, great authentic soft shells) and cheese fries (it’s the cheese sauce they use on the cheesesteaks, so the au jus flavor gave it a weird flavor kick).
But I give them three stars today, simply because I needed that lemonade SO badly!

Just ok… Nothing to write home about

Yummy fast food, definitely a big step above Mickey D’s! There’s not much else in the area for a quick meal other than the typical fast food chains. The interior is really clean and kinda cute (for a fast food place) with a faux fireplace at the counter. There’s not a lot of room to eat in though; there’s a counter with around 10 stools around the perimeter of the restaurant. Probably better to order to go.
Anyway, moving on to the most important part — the food! I had a spicy chicken sandwich combo, which comes with fries and a lemonade or any drink. The chicken sandwich was pretty good, but the FRIES!!! The fries were awesome — very crispy on the outside but soft and delicious inside! Perfectly cooked fries!
The lemonade is really good too, but be warned that it’s a frozen lemonade, like a slushy. They have several different flavors of lemonade, such as cherry, red raspberry, blue raspberry, some interesting ones too such as pineapple and watermelon. I really liked the red raspberry, but wish I had known it was a frozen drink before I ordered as it is absolutely ridiculously freezing in Chicago right now!
The rest of the menu is mostly philly cheesesteaks, chicken sandwiches and wings. I will probably return at some point to try a chicken philly or the hot wings sometime soon.
